    The Kia looks great. Now. But if you plan on keeping it 4 or 5 years (and maybe not even that long), I suggest you go with the Honda. Or maybe the Mazda. And personally, I like the Honda better overall. The front of the Honda is much better looking than the other two, and I think the interior of the Honda is one of the best I've ever seen. The Kia's interior is 'over done' and gimmicky.

    I just bought the CX50, it doesn't even feel like you're driving a crossover. The steering on that thing is fucking amazing. I'll put it this way. I just took my CX50 on a winding mountain highway and I actually had FUN on that drive. My old Crosstrek driving that same road didn't do that for me, it coddled the driver; the CX50 actually expects you to put a little effort in the drive. My old crosstrek while a good and dependable car wasn't a very fun car to drive, I'm actually having FUN driving with the CX50 now. If you're looking for a daily driver to get your kids to school or commute to work and go on the occasional family road trip, get the Kia or Honda, can't go wrong with those. But if you want something more...engaging to drive, I cannot recommend the CX-50 enough.

    I placed an order for a 23 CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid, I love that interior a lot. I just can’t trust Kia and Hyundai right now with all the recalls they’re having. Consumer reports has Kia rated at 19th place with Hyundai in 11th, they both dropped down a lot in reliability. They also tried to cover up the engine defects and got their Korean offices raided by government officials for it. Before anyone comments saying you get a long warranty, well yeah, they have to offer a long warranty if the reliability is terrible. Also, their dealership network will do everything in their power to not cover things under warranty, their reputation is well known. I don’t want an unreliable car with a good warranty, I’d rather have a reliable car with a regular warranty. I can get that with the RAV4, CX5/50 and CR-V.

Cars don't need to grow bigger each iteration, esp when the CRV is already large for a mid-size SUV. Old CRVs would barely qualify as subcompact SUVs today, and that is not a trend that needs to continue.

The Kia was more refined and offered more features than the Honda, such as the 360 degree camera and the camera that coordinates with the turn signals to show the blind spot. The Kia warranty cannot be beaten by Honda. We have had the Kia for about a month and enjoy it more every time we ride in it. You still have to remove one hand from the wheel, and you still have to look at the screen to see the navigation with the Mazda - so your eyes are leaving the road regardless. The problem with the Mazda, during my test drive: is getting used to where the control nob is. So I found myself, dropping my eyes to locate the nob - which....is wildly worse than a quick glance to the dashboard to touch a button to switch from Music to Maps or Phone. It shouldn't take long to learn where that knob is, but during my test drive, I found it fantastically annoying compared to just moving my right hand to the display screen, and pushing a button to easily navigate the touch screen. We use CarPlay a LOT, and Mazda's Apple CarPlay is still touch-screen navigation. On top of that, most other cars/SUVs put the touch screen at a fairy accessible distance - it's not a difficult reach for an average person. Mazda's is further away, and has a smaller display, making the reach more annoying.

I read some people think the marks on it are distracting. My current Sportage PHEV is a lemon and less than 3 months in getting a new tranny and soon to be returned. All Hybrids are hard to find (for a very good reason)... if you want a Hybrid you have to wait... if you're impatient and insist on buying a car NOW off-the-lot, enjoy your gas-only car with less HP and higher fuel prices. The smart shoppers are getting in line for the Hybrids... better performance, quicker acceleration, quieter rides and you can drive by the gas station a lot more than those gas guzzlers. There is a reason why gas-only cars are sitting on lots and Hybrids are all on backorder... Hybrids have come a long way, they barely cost any more than their gas equivalent but offer so much more in power, quiet rides and gas savings... should be a huge red flag to buying a gas-only car in 2023. Some people are just in a hurry and will grab anything, even if it's not a smart buy.

I still I think I'll get one because the difference in price is just ridiculous. If I start hearing about reliability issues from other people with higher mileage than me, I'll get rid of it before it happens to me. Otherwise, I'll probably keep this thing until it dies.

    I tried all of them plus the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Outback I read and listened for months and read paper books on the pros and cons for each one. If anyone of the dealership gave me 1000.00 for would have bought a different car too. All of them I found very expensive and only Mazda gave me the best trade in value for my Mazda When you jump in and drive them all and price out all of them they almost come out the same out the door. Only the Mazda was the most fun to drive. Handled great in corners. The best price for all of the money you have to spend. My budget started out at 40.000 out the door… Boy I was wishing.. Out the just a few hundred under 50.000 All of the models I built up in almost the same way then the out the door price was always way more than my new budget of 50.000 crazy… I narrowed it down to two vehicles, the Kia Sportage, and the CX 50 Mazda, GT non-turbo The Mazda won out ! They gave me 2500 for the trade in plus another 500.00 for Police discount. Non of the other Dealerships offered them. All of the other dealers told me to sell my car my self. And the most the dealers gave me 500 for the car. Yes I have a Mazda 5 2012 275000 km plus No Rust ! Rust proffered the Mazda 5 from new… No issues except for the at 270,000 K to CTV on the transmission went and it cost me $3000 to replace In my house once any car has the price tag to fix I will replace the vehicle. I have been looking for a new vehicle since the vehicle turned over 200000km. Love my Mazda -5 Best vehicle ever made. Payed out the door $23000k I choose the Mazda CX -50 GT non turbo out the door $ 49640.02 $3000.00 trade in All weather mats Full rubber protection in the back by Mazda. • @differencemaker242

    @Wolfshanze I would say that's naive. Toyota has long been known for reliability. They have never had a long warranty. They have a standard 3 yrs or 36k mile warranty that has been around forever. They build cars so that they don't need a warranty. You must be a younger person because if you were around in the 90s you would know that Hyundai was infamous for making crap cars. They instituted that insane warranty around 2000 to convince people that their lemon making days were behind them. Just a few years ago, they were making cars that spontaneously combusted. They have a long warranty because they know you will need it. If they made great cars they wouldn't need to offer such protection. The Japanese make reliable cars. Nissan is the lone exception. But Mazda, Toyota, and Subaru do well.

  • @wolfshanze5980

    @wolfshanze5980

    Жыл бұрын

    @differencemaker4300 the very definition of naive is thinking its impossible for another auto manufacturer to make a reliable car... you are posting on multiple threads attacking reliability on a SUV engine and powertrain with zero history of problems as unreliable. Frankly, it's clear you have Toyota stuck far up your kiester and you are incapable of determining reality from your distorted view of the world. You paint the world with broad stokes, "if one thing is wrong, all things are wrong... if one thing is right, all things are right." That's not how the world works pal. Toyota isn't perfect and not all cars from all other Manufacturers are unreliable... you are the king of generalizations and the fool of reality. The Sportage and Tucson are great cars with a longer warranty than Toyota will put on their vehicles... they pack more features for less money and both Kia and Hyundai back thier cars longer than Toyota will back theirs... these are FACTS. Of course, you won't admit that because you see the world through Toyota colored glasses. That much is obvious. Continue paying more for less and thinking your car is better than everything else... I don't think you can handle reality.

    The problem with a Kia (or a Hyundai) is that it's a Kia (or a Hyundai). I wouldn't trust those vehicles to even reach their half-way point (five years) through the warranty (ten years) without some major issues. Moreover, I wouldn't trust those vehicles to last ten years and a day either. The materials used are very cheap (under the hood and under the chassis). For comfort, luxury, power and refinement, I'd go with the Mazda. For fuel efficiency and brand trust, I'd go with the Honda. For long-term use, I'd stay away from the Kia.
