Yeah, I did mine but I had to have mine centered so I didn’t use the factory I used the one next to it so they’re centered now. Was so happy that worked out. Looks great.

That makes so much sense....I did not think they would be as visible as they are. Now Im gonna have to change that! Thanks

Sound db ratings are not linear. A 3db increase is roughly a doubling of the sound pressure. A 10db increase is 10x the sound pressure. Thank you for this guide! I'll be upgrading the horn in my GR Corolla as well. Though, I opted for a single 140db ear cannon horn from AeroStich. I installed it on my former MR2... Not only will it catch someone's attention, no amount of car audio will drown this out. :)

Ok. So just to avoid confusion. You are saying that one of the ground wires need to be 8mm, and the other 6mm right?

Hey man, been loving your GR Corolla videos. Don't have one, but it's definitely a dream car at the moment. Completing my Commercial Pilot's License right now and was surprised to see that you're an AME; hopefully I'll be able to afford one once employed as a commercial pilot. Just gotta live vicariously through you for now. Will definitely be making use of your videos when i get one🤞🏼 as these are all changes I'd make to the car. Great stuff!

I’ve read comments about using a relay to power the horns. Did a relay come with the kit? How many amps does the stock Corolla supply? My Corolla is definitely getting new horns. I’m thinking maybe a relay would both protect my factory horn circuit and hopefully make the horns even louder. Thoughts?

As I mentioned in the video....I'm kind of a novice when it comes to wiring and basically am following mod directions that I have found on the forums (assumedly from people way smarter than me). I did not see any instructional where they used a relay. All I can say is that the mod is easy and it works well as is....I did not realize how well until I was driving my Morizo back from California and someone was blocking an exit. They literally could not hear my horn at all (Heck, I could barely hear it). I hope that helps and Thanks for watching

i dont really want to buy shrink wrap and connectors, is it possible to just buy a ground wire just like you made?

I don't really see any commercial ground wires for sale....I am afraid that you will have to make one yourself.

Good info. I’m wondering if replacing the horn cancels the car warranty.

  • @Springtailsolutions

It would only affect any warranty on the horn (Or related systems)....They can't cancel the warranty because of a small modification.

It’s a dc system so the ground completes the circuit. Won’t work without the ground.
