I can't believe GM and Ram don't have a true F-450 competitor. Yes you can get 4500 and 5500 from them but not as a regular production pickup. The wide track front axle is such a game changer as far a maneuverability! You'd think GM and Ram would see that Ford can't build anywhere near enough 450s even at $100k or more. It's a crazy amount of money but it's great that it's only a tiny bit more than a F-350. If you want a GM or Ram 4500 with a pickup or hauler bed with this level of features it's going to be $20k or $30k more! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

Interesting about the little bit of sway as compared to the Silverado 3500. I wouldn’t have expected that. Also every enclosed trailer needs a winch. I think the C8 was like “this guy is trying to race me” and then he was gone lol.

I can't believe long I went with trailers without winches!! Of course I almost always had $200k to million dollar cars in there and they mostly started lol. I'm about to do the same trio in the Silverado and filming it. I'm wondering if the 4000 lbs of this trailer empty or even the 8000 lbs I towed with it when picking up the Lamborghini Huracan STO a fee weeks ago just isn't enough to settle the 450 down 🤷‍♂️. It was probably something like that. I was driving the STO a couple weeks ago and a guy in some random Japanese sedan said lets race! He just wanted to see me take off! I did 🤣

Those commercial tires are like ice skates in some situations. When you have no weight in the bed and are pulling a trailer, it's real easy to get the rear of the truck to go side to side. Those tires are skinny, extremely hard and have a lot of air pressure. My 2019 slightly wiggle's when it's empty pulling my 20' box trailer on rougher roads where the trailer squirms.not often, but it can do it. They also tramline badly. I had to swap the fronts out to steer tires, the continentals were awful. But when I haul my 47' toy hauler with 4k of pin weight, that's where it shines.

I have a ‘21 Ram Rebel and my wife and I are considering buying a fifth wheel in the next couple of years. Obviously a truck towing upgrade on the horizon and I’ll be looking at F350 SRW, DRW and the F450 which is only DRW. I’ve never driven a dually. What’s your take on the DRW vs. SRW as a ‘most days’ driver and is the F450 worth the extra premium cost wise? I do like the extra maneuverability it offers.

I think as far as everyday use the DRW isn't really that big of deal. What makes these trucks harder to live with is how long they are. Now I've been driving duallies since I was 16 but friends have said they were surprised how quickly they got used to it. I've towed with SRW and DRW and it is so much more relaxing in a dually. I tell people if they are going to make towing trips longer than 5 or 6 hours a decent amount you will be a lot happier with a DRW. If your trips will mostly be shorter than it's not as big a deal. I've found I'm a lot less tired after a day of towing with a dually. For the most part they fit in parking spots width wise. I try to back into spots where I can have the rear go over the grass or sidewalk. That's something you're going to deal with with any long bed. I had a 21 F-450 and as soon as I made a tight turn in the mall parking lot across the street from the dealer I was sold. Before that I was considering all three of the 1 ton duallies but the wide track front axle is such a game changer. Regular turns that I have to make a 3 point turn in my Silverado 3500 will easily be made in a 450. If you can get a 450 the price difference over a 350 isn't much and the resale value is drastically higher. The only two things I see as downsides going to the 450 over a 350 are also upsides. The 19.5 wheels with steel belted tires make the ride, especially when unloaded towing and hauling it settles down, very ruff. When you hit a bump you know it. I didn't mind all that much and even though I planned on using it mostly for towing and drive more sensible cars around I got in it a lot! The upside is the tires last a very long time and did very good in some pretty deep snow. The other thing is the 4.30 rear end. It makes the power available even more impressive, I a video with my 21 drag racing a Ram 3500 up hills with loading trailers to see how impressive! The thing is I'm guessing it gives up a mile to mile and a half mpgs over the 3.71 in the 350. It's not as big a deal with the 10 speed over the 19 and earlier trucks with the 6 speed but at highway speeds its turning 200 to 400 rpms more. Let me know if you want any more of my opinions on it. Also in my F-450 playlist there's a video on what I see as the pros and cons of a 350 vs 450. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

My 2021 450 vibrates in the rear over 65. Ford can’t find it. Does yours vibrate over 65?

I put almost 19k miles on my 21 F-450, a couple hundred on a 22 and a few thousand on this 23 and didn't have any vibration on any of them. I did have problems with an oil leak and a DEF Fault on my 21. The leak was fixed but the DEF was still an issue when I sold it back to the dealer. I have heard of problems getting the 19.5s balanced properly. I'd suggest trying to find a tire shop that balances the wheels on the vehicle. I'm friends with the owner of a shop in the DC area that does that and all the dealerships around here go there for their problem vehicles. I don't know how many shops around the country have equipment and experience to be able to balance on the vehicle but I've had a couple cars over the years that had vibrations that couldn't be solved until that was done then they were really smooth. I'd suggest checking with tirr shops that specialize in racing. They are the most likely to have that capability. Good luck!
