2023 Ford F-250 Super duty 6.7 H.O. first drive! Impressions.....is the hype warranted?

So had an opportunity to check out a 2023 Ford Super Duty F-250 with the 500 HP 1200 lbs/torque 6.7 Power stroke High Output. I'll walk you around and talk about my thoughts. Is this new upgrade worth it in an F-250? 12 grand is a lot of dough. Watch and see.
thanks.

I opted to save $2500 on my 2023 F-350 SRW and go with the standard output diesel. This engine has PLENTY of power for my towing needs.

I am looking at the HO and my use case is massive wind drag on my boat which sits tall on the trailer and is a larger TRI-toon. So F250 is ok for payload but the extra pulling power of the HO is beneficial to be able to accelerate up hill in the wind etc. Maybe my situation is unusual, but that is some info as to why someone may want this configuration. 👍👍

I think the big hub is when you go to the heavy duty axle, on 350 or the upgraded axle.. I may be wrong....

Glad you passed on the Diesel, we all know what they can do because KZread is filled with the videos. Love the gasser content, hoping for another Godzilla. Maybe the new trans strategy for 2023 eliminating the skip shifts will be do a little better than the last one? Who knows.

Do not go with Ram Cummins. They having issues with transmissions. 2021,2022,2023 are having issues with the Aisin. Snap rings are imploding….possible recall coming.

I have a 2023 F250 Lariat diesel HO that I replaced a 2021 f250 Lariat diesel. No comparison in the power. HO gets better fuel economy by at least 3 to 4 mpg. I tow 14k plus 95% of the time. However the HO drinks the DEF. In one month of taking delivery a mountain of electrical issues started. Bad enough Ford is buying it back. Now I'm replacing it with a 2024 f350 diesel HO next week. Good luck with a 2023 year model. Mine was a total lemon.

So, almost 80k MSRP and I'm curious what the market adjustments are? I know dealers near me are still marking up the ford trucks pretty heavily. I'd have no interest in one knowing what my brand new 2024 Chevrolet 2500 gas is capable of. Best of luck with whatever you choose to get next. Really like and appreciate your content. I can't stand watching most of the other channels, they don't really prove much in real daily situational driving. Thanks

Thanks for being here and subscribing. Here it's 5k plus at some. I'd say a third of the ford dealers are asking msrp. But 2 thirds asking 5k and over. These are standard trucks, no lifts or special things to demand over sticker. I appreciate the feedback also, I'm definitely trying to put the trucks we all use into real day to day stuff to see and report what they do, towing and just regular driving. Thanks again and have a blessed day!

I completely disagree with your assessment of the ride is way off especially compared to the ram! And Chevy independent front end might ride nice but have no confidence in independent front end on Hd! Not to mention the GM seat suck!

Fords ride horrible and as soon as you put a trailer on they are floaty and wander. GM front ends since the total redesign on the IFS in 2011 has been very solid and is the only front end that is greasable. The ford front end you throw new parts at it since they have zero grease points starting in 2023

I believe he stated that the truck he took for a test drive had the snowplow prep package, that would more than likely mean the next size up coil spring in the front, I can't comment on the rear springs as I don't know if the main pack is different or not in this heavy gvw option over the standard 3/4 ton or if its only the added upper overload which would not have come into play running empty. Anyway wanted to point out that snow plow prep package as that does affect a trucks ride if not utilizing that spring with a plow, a front mounted winch, a small motorcycle on a front rack .. etc.
