Finally, you guys are bringing back this format. This type of format is why I started watching the channel years ago, now, unfortunately it’s gotten way too much of a “bring your own truck to my property thing”. Keep these up👍🏻
Live in the mountains and have three kinds under 5 years old, plus and big dog and husband…my Ford 2022 Expedition Timberline is the best for our family and lifestyle!
Keep the Expedition videos coming!
As much as I like Tumbleweed Ranch. Also love the run of this off-road course.

I "had" a 22 Tremor, nightmare from day 1. Where do I start, transmission issues, engine consuming coolant, distorted audio, grinding in front left of truck felt in the steering wheel, things rattling underneath truck. Paid $78K out the door, sold to Carvana for $40, 459. Dealer never properly addressed issues.
@intelmike181

@@rays4408 Why didn't you look into lemon law? Many states have one especially as it relates to new vehicles. Also the number you sold it to carvana for seems like it would be the lowest 22 F-150 ever sold... The Lowest 21 tremor on carvana is: 55K with 15K Miles. The Lowest 22 tremor is: 58K with 22K miles. If the dealer didn't address the issues did you at least try to contact ford?

The torque with the 5.0 sucks. Sounds great but weak.
I watch a lot of your videos, and I own a 2021 Expedition Limited 4X4. It's not as capable as the Timberline but I really enjoyed the comparison. Our lifestyle is better suited with the SUV than a truck at this time and we're 32K miles of happy with it so far. Great video guys.

I'd say the Z71 is more like the FX4 package. So let's see an AT4 v Timberline.
Great video. I love my Timberline Expedition. However, I did swap out the tires immediately to Nitto Ridge Grapplers. It made a world of difference. :D

That is the 3.5 EcoBoost HO the same as the Raptor -10 hp, my wife loves her Timberline! It's a beast!
I've been waiting for one year to see Expedition Timberline content. Hope can see more.
Love your videos TFL! And I love my Timberline; save yourself $10k and go with the 500a interior/tech package instead of the 501a
Yes a Timberline vs Yukon at4x video is what is needed
Great video - a set of Toyo ATIII (w/ the snowflake) would have made both trucks more grippy in the snow. I drove this winter on my first set of Toyo's and the difference is unbelievable vs previous Bridgestone and Micheline !!
I always love your program, and Videos thank you 😊

Awesome thank you guys.

Thanks for finally getting off road again!!!!
Awesome video. Best kind of reviews.
I have been waiting for you guys to review a expedition timberline. I would be more interested in an F150 FX4 comparison now.
So impressive for such a large SUV. I will never likely be able to afford such a beast, but very cool none the less.
Great video! I’ll be purchasing the Tremor here very soon.

Great video! Looking for a replacement for my 2011 Expy with 150k. I bought it new and am now off roading in Western North Carolina. Now empty nested and something smaller would be great. Looking at the gmc canyon at4. You are all making great content.
Great video!
I love this video!!! Good job guys. Plus I think ford is kicking butt right now in the off road world
Cool. I live in Western CO and bought a Tremor (402 package) back in January. Have already taken it on several off-road trips, driven through plenty of heavy snow on roads and trails, and hauled and towed. Just an all around awesome truck for Colorado.
That turn assist is kind of cool, but I am imagining several guys doing it on the same spot over the course of a couple years. Seems like it would ruin a trail or cause washouts and ruts.
I love these videos
F-150 is arguably more capable, but I do think the Expedition is cool. I'd probably rather have the Expedition as a daily driver if cost was no object. I also bet it's fairly easy to lift it an inch or two, and go up a little with tire size. That would be an interesting project.
We walked away from the dealership after the salesman gave us his best price. This being a returning leasee and first responder discount. Not blowing my hard earned cash on an F-150. Prices are insane!!!
FYI the stock tires on the Timberline are terrible off road. I have a Timberline and the biggest off road improvement by miles was new tires.
@brannonbenjamin203

What tires did you get?
I think Ford should put the 5.0 in the expedition as a standard engine option and offer the ecoboost and powerboost powertrains as the premium options
Great video and comparison also any idea when the rattler f150 is coming or did they kill that
As always, a solid review. Thanks guys. Wonder if I could get the latest, fully loaded Tremor without any of that orange, especially on the inside, just have those seats be all blacked out, the whole thing be blacked out, do you know? And regarding the Expedition Timberline, I wish I could get that fold out flat work surface of the front center console that is an option with the Tremor. I would use that so much, making my home office mobile along with my laptop and a hot spot. Interesting that the Expedition Timberline has a higher road clearance, wasn't expecting that, and that's relevant to me. Maybe an inch or two lift on the Tremor would make up the difference?
i love watching these comparisons even if they accomplish or prove nothing.
I have a 2022 explorer and I'm contemplating between these two models here!
I really want to see Ford make an Expedition Timberline with the Powerboost hybrid powertrain. I have three sons who will be quite tall and would love to see 24 mpg while being able to take it on any road I can find.
That turn assist will be awesome in the those tight Taco Bell drive thru's.
I love my 2022 F150 Tremor. Just got back from a cross country trip to Moab Utah (from Indiana). I will say, though, that it needs a slight lift in the front as the front chin gets too close to the obstacles when the front compresses. Also, the tires on the F150 Tremor are not LT tires....only 2 ply sidewalls. Don't ask me how I know..... Great video guys!
@masonkaye5

Yeah thats the problem with all stock offroad tires only really duratracs have a 3 ply sidewall unless it is a 3/4 ton

That's the same with the Goodyear's on the new ZR2 and AT4X. And just like the old duratracs they're prone to sidewall blowout.

Yeah I was disappointed to find out how underwhelming most of these all terrain tires are on the newer 4x4 trucks. We bought a Z71 Suburban last spring and now 15k miles in we've had two replace one tire and patch another twice just driving around town and doing some light off-roading. I've never had tires quite this fragile before.

I'm seriously thinking about trying to get some trade-in value on the Generals before I hit 2K miles on my 2023 5.0 (getting great gas mileage too). I was very disappointed it didn't come with at least KO2s or an equivalent.
Unlikely that the Tremor was "starting you out in second gear" when Andre put it in 4Lo. It likely behaves similarly to going to manual shift mode where the indicator is indicating the highest available gear; meaning it's locking out any gears higher than what the indicator is showing. When it shows 2, you are not starting out in second gear; you are starting out in first, but it will only upshift to second and no higher. 2 means you have first and second gears available and higher gears locked out. Shift it to 5 and you have gears 1 through 5 available. With the indicator in 5 and driving along in fifth, you can then shift it to 4 and it will downshift to fourth because now you are locking out any gears above fourth (manual downshifting which is useful when going down steep hills on the highway as well as steep hills in 4lo. In this video, they should have been in 4Lo to go down the hill, not only up the hill, because they could manually downshifting instead of the dragging the brakes all the way down. So, it sounds like Ford is simply automatically setting the indicator to 2 since often, the driver will only want first and second gears available when in 4Lo. But then, the driver can shift up to whatever gear and allow more gears to be available though I'll also note that 4Lo usually will only shift up to whatever transmission gear is 1:1. Not into any overdrive gears. On a six speed, 1:1 was fourth gear. On a 10 speed, 1:1 is 7th gear, so one can expect 4Lo to only shift up to 7th and not the three overdrive gears (8, 9 , 10).
My 23 5.0 has done great so far (surprising mpg). Peace, Love!!

I'm at around 6K miles now. I'm very happy so far. I'm honestly more concerned about the long-term reliability as a "Toyota" guy, but that will take years to determine. After I turned off the lane assist (country roads and mountain passes) I am a happier camper. I honestly have pulled very little with it so far and have not done any extreme off-roading (I use my 2002 Taco for that for now). The rake is probably a little high, but that probably helps with mileage. The truck says I'm getting almost 23 mpg combined, but my calculations put it closer to 22. I'm not sure what to think yet about the cylinder deactivation (I know Chevy and Dodge have done it for a while, but I guess it is just cutting fuel to cylinders when not under load from what I've read). My truck doesn't have the auto stop/start which I am so happy about. I didn't ask, they just said it wasn't available due to the chip shortage. Initially, I ran it in sport mode to avoid the cylinder deactivation (and I initially thought I was going to supercharge the truck with the Ford Whipple to deal with the altitude), but after seeing the real-world mpg, I'm trending away from the supercharger. It easily pulls my cargo trailer while getting 5 or 6 mpg better than my Tundra did (at 6K+ elevation) and is plenty quick, but I haven't towed for much distance yet. Sorry for the book, lol.@@justinsoulier6305

I got mine within a month when they initially told me 6 months. Peace, Love!!@@justinsoulier6305

I love the idea of this comparison. I think you have a major miss though, You didn't mention wheelbase or test an up-and-over breakover angle. Second, it would have been nice to see a better turning radius comparison. Like Tremor with trail turn assist vs. Expedition w/out! Can you do a part 2?

Also, I don't think you mentioned the gear ratios. The pumpkin on the Tremor is prob the reason for the clearance measurement.
I understand that the technology which goes into these vehicles is what makes the price of them so high, but I have to ask, who are these companies building these vehicles for any more? $70,000, $80,000, sometimes $100,000+ for new vehicles? Really?! There has to be a point at which they're pricing themselves out of business. Regular people can't afford these vehicles!!
