Just picked up my PHEV, premium. This car is awesome and I am so happy with what Ford did with it. Feels very modern and has a more utilitarian look. Those front fog lights are sick. Rapid red with space gray interior 😁

Thank you so much for how thoroughly you researched this vehicle ! I have watched several videos about the 2023 Ford Escape Platinum Hybrid AWD, and this one by far has given me more information about what to expect when ours arrives (we ordered it last December...and it just came off the assembly line). I now have more information than I could get from the sales person, from the Ford site, and from other reviews. Your thoroughness is amazing! I really appreciate it!

Picked up my 2023 escape hybrid last week. I have the moon roof but did not get the tow package. So glad I went for the platinum trim version. Loving all the extras.

Did you get the upgraded audio? What color is your interior? I feel like the choice b/w the Platinum and ST-Line Select is a tough choice! :)

I chose the steel grey exterior and the sand stone interior. Did not opt for the upgraded audio as I don’t listen to the radio that much. Order was placed in mid December 2922 , paperwork shows assembly began Feb 10th. Delivery to dealer on May16. I asked that the dealers service department give it a good checkout as though it was going to be their grandmother riding in it - as I probably know their grandmother and would be my turn to drive.

Very efficient engine. In Europe we called it Ford Kuga. Greetings

You’re showing a top trim. BUT when you activated the left turn signal it didn’t show the blind spot on the dash. That’s one of the main things I want.Does escape have that function?

At minute 32 there is a brief comment about the turn signal being too quiet. I noticed the same thing on mine. Perhaps Ford can increase the volume to a more standard level via a software update. With all these other fancy high tech features, let’s not neglect the basics.

I had trouble as well…even got the “old people turn signal on reminder chime” twice! But, I usually pay attention, to it hasn’t been a big issue.

You should have tried it in Sport mode for acceleration.

It would have been nice if we got to hear the braking system with the hybrid.

Knowing lack of build quality from Ford, I’ll pass. Even Ford CEO said they had to improve quality.

Good job. Your narration is informative yet easy to follow. Product knowledge very good. One point, what Ford sells is called "B & O by Bang and Olufsen", which I believe is a budget level design and less impressive than a true Bang & Olufsen system. Not sure why Bang & Olufsen would agree to do that, it tarnishes their image in my opinion.

Why? They do it for MONEY. I'll bet half of their annual profits come from licensing their name to car makers.

How any manufacturer is not peoviding physical buttons in 2023+ vehicles is ridiculous. They obviously are ignoring their customers.

Could not hear the turn signal when changing lanes. It should be adjustable.

do the rear seats slide back/forward?

: I would like mine to startup in ECO mode, but I am unable to find a way to set that up. It always starts in “Normal” even if it was in ECO when I turned the car off; or when I set the memory buttons. Any suggestions? I have the same trim level as shown.

@@FairElectionsWI yes, in 2018 Fusion, there is a physical ECO button, once you press it, it will stay at ECO model even you restart the vehicle.

What driving mode were you in when you did the acceleration test?

The key fob has a replaceable battery inside it. It can't be charged.

The ST-LIne Elise is a lot more configurable. than the Plantinum.

I think of buy a new 23' Ford Escape Hybrid.

Not sure about the build quality, a lot of features in ford which is great, the SUV looks great but the interior materials not sure they will hold up over time. Compared to the competition. Mazda is more premium, Hyundai as well in terms of materials .

I just bought a Hybrid Platinum 4 months ago. I guess I got lucky, as I saw this at a dealership but it was pending sale. We called around and found the exact same thing at a dealership close by that was available. Exactly the same options. I bet someone ordered from both dealerships and took the one that came in first. Anyway, I was shopping with my brother about 4 hours away from home and thought I would just wait until I got home, but when I checked on line no-one had it, so I bought it there. This video taught me a lot about the car I have been driving for a while. I am delighted with my car - bought an extended warranty to cover all the bells and whistles that I would not normally risk. The thing pulls you back into your lane, slows down with the speed limit and even parks itself!! I have only used that feature once and it scared me to let go and watch it drive itself - but it worked. Apple car play is perfect and it tells me where to turn on three different screens - you can't miss a turn if you tried. I am 71 and used to be nervous about driving in unknown areas, but I feel so much safer in this car. I really love it.
