    4door Manual Badlands bronco owner here and I LOVE it. I've read that 15% of the Broncos were ordered with a manual. But since they make you jump through so many hoops to get the package you want with a manual. I wonder what percentage of builds were even available with a manual. No V6, -50% right there. No 4 door base. Want dual zone climate? Unless you are getting the Badlands, you cant get anything but the basic interior package with a manual. (I went with a Badlands to pair the manual with a Lux package) I am guessing fewer than 15% of the build combinations were available with a Manual Transmission option. Its almost like somebody in accounting was trying to prove that they were right that nobody wants a manual. If you ask me, like the Focus RS, it should have only been available in Manual.

    I ordered a Big Bend because I wanted the manual. While waiting I started looking up cost for mild lift and add wheels and tires. By the time I did the math on just those things and figured out that I could get a front locker I just added the Sasquatch. It also comes with more durable steering components and a better suspension. I’m honestly glad I did that before they scheduled my build. Maybe the Badlands would’ve been a better option for not much more, but then I would’ve been tempted to upgrade to the High/LUX and next thing I know…we’re at $70k

    I have a 2021 Ford bronco Badlands with a manual transmission which I wanted specifically I compared it to the Sasquatch model and honestly the only difference is a 1 to 2-in lift difference and tire size realistically I have personally taking this thing on every offroad obstacle I could think of or find and have never been disappointed on a final note as my one buddy tells me having a manual transmission is a millennial anti-theft system 😅

    I owned a 2021 7sp manual Bronco, I loved it, easy enough for a 8 yr old to drive, so many built in electronic nannies to help with taking off, stalling, etc... while I didn't have constant cold Temps, I never heard or felt any issues that have been mentioned in the last 6 months. I now have the Auto, but I hope to be able to pick up a second one in a few years (2 door, 7sp) Soooo fun to drive, and be engaged with the vehicle.

    I was going to order a manual transmission 2023 2 door Bronco, but I found a used Base 2dr with a manual with a little over 900 miles on it. Glad I didn't wait until they were taking orders again.

    When I found out they killed the manual for 2023, I got a 2022 two door manual, an absolute unicorn as far as I can tell. I got a base so I can build it out as I see fit. Your videos will be very important for installing the amp and speakers.

    2023 2dr Base Sas 7MT Eruption Green had to drop trim from BD to have it built. 1/19/23 Build date and made it by the skin of my teeth. I saw the dreaded email on 1/20 for others to change or be cancelled. 955 day wait and worth it. I’m still under 500 miles and no noise from trans if it shows itself so be it I’m still keeping it and Ford will figure it out in due time. For those who are willing to keep in the fight the dream is real be patient. I purchased at Morgan Hill Ford in California. Price was protected and they were a pleasure to do business with.

    I was code 99 for 21 waiting for a manual Sasquatch option and also presumed there would be 1,595 discount for not buying an automatic transmission. Once I realized we were having to pay full price I did the same as you and went with the Badlands but opted for the standard package since I didn't really want anything other than the cameras but wasn't willing to pay 4k for everything else in the high package. The 4.7 gearing, lockers, sta-bar disco, full-body skids, AND the near 95:1 crawler gear on K02s from the factory is a hard thing to pass up for under 46k. I drove a 2.7 at the Vegas Off-Roadeo and I can honestly say if I could do it all over again I wouldn't change from the 2.3 with the 7MT for both on and off-roading including rock crawling and open desert running.

    In my area in New England there are several manual transmission Broncos available on dealer lots. Most are selling for $3k - $5k over MSRP. Which sucks, yes... but given Ford will likely increase prices for 2024MY, it may be worth considering. Good luck!

    This is spot on. I would have poured thousands into my 2005 manual Blazer and took it to my grave, if the Bronco did not have the manual option. I too realized that there was very little advantage to adding a sasquatch package to the Badlands. It has even been mistaken for a Sasquatch because it has the optional wheels.

    Great video! I like the Duratrac 285 75 R18. It’s 35.1” tall but just 11.2” wide. And it’s only 60lbs. Do you think the manual badlands can handle that tire in respect to power / torque? And do you think it’ll fit with a 1” levelling kit?

  • @BradleyJokerst
    @BradleyJokerst Жыл бұрын

    That’s exactly my plan with my Badlands that’s scheduled in the next couple weeks. 1” level, new tires already picked out. I’m not a fan of the BL wheels, but I may wait on replacing them for a bit.

    The badlands with sas vs non-sas…there is a difference in the springs. Sas provides a slight lift. Non-sas Badlands has the same shocks, but definitely has a spring difference,

  • @RagnarKon

    @RagnarKon

    Yes, good point, I should have mentioned this in the video. You are correct. There is roughly an 1/2" lift between Badlands and the Sasquatch package. In my opinion the cost of the Sasquatch package isn't worth that 1/2" lift on the manual transmission, especially since that lift isn't necessary to fit 35s. At $4840 - $8135 (depends on trim) for the Sasquatch package... I think it makes MUCH more sense to go Badlands to get the sway-bar disconnect, and then go aftermarket down the road for wheels/tires.

    TrailRax TRMR. I personally got it from the Bronco Nation Store-members get 10% off. $25/yr for a membership and it saves you ~$140. A no-brainer in my opinion. You can also get it directly from their website (trailrax.com).

    How loud is the manual trans on your Bronco? Is it mostly unnoticeable if you don't focus on it? Or is it loud enough people next to the vehicle will be asking what's up with your transmission? Hoping Ford comes through with a solution to this, because it concerns me in terms of long term out of warranty lifespan.

  • @RagnarKon

    @RagnarKon

    Жыл бұрын

    You don't really notice it if you have the HVAC system or the radio on. I'm sure many people have the issue, but don't actually know it's an issue, especially since it goes away as the transmission warms up. I actually expect the issue to disappear for a lot of owners as warmer summer weather hits. But yes, I do hope Magna/Getrag and Ford find a solution sooner rather than later.

    Can someone explain why the manual transmission does not offer the larger engine?

  • @RagnarKon

    @RagnarKon

    Жыл бұрын

    The short answer is because the 2.3L engine has already been paired with a manual transmission in the past in a BUNCH of different Ford vehicles. Mustang, Ranger, Everest, etc. etc. So all of the engineering work required to add a manual transmission was already completed. The 2.7L is only available on the F-150, and never has been paired with a manual transmission before. So it would be a big engineering effort for Ford to pair it with the manual transmission, and given the manual transmission is not a popular offering (only ~15% of orders are for manual), Ford probably felt like it wasn't worth the time or money.

  • @RagnarKon

    @RagnarKon

    Жыл бұрын

    Trailrax makes the roof rack. It is only marginally louder than the factory roof rack, but it is definitely noticeably louder than running without a roof rack. Fortunately most of the noise is isolated to the rear seats-it's not too bad up front.

    The first time i saw a bronco on the street i was excited until i saw the ford symbol. My entire family has been life long ford buyers and i dont know why. They take turns driving each other to the dealership to have things repaired. None of those vehicles is older than 5 years. Its ridiculous. I drive a 2006 Tacoma with 230,000+ miles with zero issues.

    How is that roof rack? Noisy? Worth it?

  • @RagnarKon

    @RagnarKon

    Жыл бұрын

    There is an MPG hit, but I expected that. For the front seat it isn't any more or less noisy that the factory roof rack (which I sold to buy this). The rear seat is definitely seems more noisy though-I'm sure if I remove some of the cross-bars I can cut down on that noise, but haven't played around with it that much yet. Ski season is quickly coming to an end, so I'll be experimenting with it more once the weather warms up. I don't expect to find any thing game-changing... but if I do I'll probably make a video on it.
