Hey guys, phenomenal coverage as always! Just a small suggestion...when you show leaderboard at the end of certain holes, I'd recommend displaying all scores though the top 12, or tied for 12th place, so we can see who is potentially making the cut for rounds 3 & 4. Great work!

Next year, it'd be nice to have one camera dedicated to following bubble players and giving Bubble Check-ins. That's where the real drama is during these first two rounds. I'd also like to see the leader board between holes have about three slots at the bottom showing players right at the cut line.

Do they do live coverage for like 5 hours that bounces all over the place like traditional golf? One of the big reasons that I watch Disc Golf is that I get to watch a group from start to finish. How the game is covered makes a huge difference to me.

Watching this is sublime. Never stop doing it right, Jomez Pro! This in stark contrast to trying to watch DGPT's USDGC coverage - that is like being stabbed in the eyes, 15 times a second. Their 360p15 really reminds me of bad disc golf coverage from 2009.

Outside of circle one (10m or 33ft) you can step or jump or otherwise fallow through past you lie. The disc must leave your hand before you land beyond your spot. Gannon is close but it’s out before his foot hits the ground. You can see the orange marker in front of him showing where the edge of circle one is. If you’re inside circle one you must remain balanced behind your lie or it’s a foot fault. Hope this helps.

I think he foot faulted that one. his front foot looks to be off the ground while the disc is still in his hand. I could be wrong about that, but thats how it looked to me

@@jamesturner7488 You also have to look at his foot behind his lie that comes off the ground before he releases the disc. You can not be in mid air when you release the disc. Your landing foot cant hit the ground AND your supporting foot must be on the ground when you release the disc

It disappoints me that JAMES PROCTOR doesn’t get NEARLY ENOUGH credit. Dude has been on almost all lead or chase card all year long. Maybe 1 or 2 tours he wasn’t on lead or chase but the dude is on fire this season he’s just a straight up good player who knows his discs. Which could be a little difficult when your sponsor literally has access to every single mold in every single plastic. He’s a top 3-5 player and deserves more recognition and mentioned more. One of my favorite professionals athletes. He’s a humble dude but proves he deserves Respect. Just because he doesn’t have a world title or DGPT championship win YET the dude deserves mad respect and more spotlight

i bet the players love this format, or most of it. it's a nod to the old tournaments and compares well with ball golf. i personally love the multiple second-chances players get...as long as they stay in striking-distance. a bit complicated, but no more than mlb, nhl, nfl, uefa(!!!), and/or pga.

Glad you guys are covering this event. Sucks that the PDGA kicked you guys off many of the majors to go with their own in-house service. The coverage, the calls, the non biased views are missed. I hardly watch disc golf anymore unless I see Jomez pop up in my feed. The funny thing is that I bought my first PDGA membership after 7 years playing disc golf only after I watched Jomez for the first 2 years. Then around covid time I saw I was missing coverage because PDGA wanted to blackout others in support of their service. I never renewed my membership after that. Last week I was talking to some of the other guys I play with and they said the same thing. The PDGA saw how popular Jomez was and I guess they thought you were scooping up the KZread $$$ and got greedy. Well screw them, I don't play tourny's and I don't have the time during the day to watch 4 hour live streams. I have 4 hours a week to play disc golf, if I'm lucky. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. Back when it was just Jomez and CCDG it was great.

If I were to create a stroke playoff event I'd do the starting strokes different. For example; Scoring leaders 1st-4th get (-4 to -1), if you win a major you get another -1, if you win a masters you get -2 with runner-up getting -1. Or something to that effect. The way this event is managed from day one just seems like it doesn't favor someone who won everything all year then has 1 bad day and your out of the running for the biggest payday of the year. There should be some way to ensure the top play on tour all year can have just one bad day and be cut from the biggest payday, especially on hard wooded courses.

Oh man, its a good thing Jerm clarified the format for all of us. 😂

If you’re confused about the format….remember the DGPT is striving to become the PGA TOUR, this is no different! By sucking the life blood, out of everything unique/different the DGPT couldn’t think of anything original, so instead they “borrow” the exact same format as the ©️ “FEDEX CUP”…(from wiki-, The FedEx Cup is the championship trophy for the PGA Tour. Its introduction in 2007 marked the first time that men's professional golf had a playoff system. Since its inception, the competition has been sponsored by FedEx) So again, just as they’ve done with the “live” broadcast, on the course “pre-round” show, the “after show”, “the tournament pre-show/recap”….just like they’ve done with “the hair gel and polo shirts” we get our Brandel Shamblee blabber from Brian Earhart, who’s reporting on/off around, up and down, hard hitting insights like “Calvin is gonna an advantage (no shxt) he gets 6 strokes and this course sets up long straight tunnel shots…..back to you Terry” isn’t it great! Thanks DGPT! You’ve taken a once original, unique, amazing game with the most diverse incredible community and forced polo shirt, hair gel country club, copycat PGA TOUR YUPPIE vibes on all of us! Has Rickey ever had 3 doubles on a front 9 in his career? What a wild start.

Pulling for Calvin so hard to come out on top this tournament. This layout really does screw him over for being the most consistent player on tour all year. Like why not give a pro-rated payout to the top guys before the tournament for their points finish, or at least let him have the stroke lead going into the final 12 instead of the reset? What if he was hurt going into this tournament since he’s played every tourney all year? That alone could completely dismantle a year’s worth of work. I’m glad to see he is throwing well to start. I think this layout needs further revising.

ngl that explanation at the beginning of the video was confusing af but after rewinding and re listening i was able to decipher the meaning lol. thanks for the explanation regardless though.

One thing I don't like is if a player ends the 2nd round 6 strokes in the lead is it's all erased and they all start round 3 at even? Kinda crazy. It's like all that matters is the final 2 rounds

I still am waiting for the USDGC to drop on this site. I hear it will be available starting Oct 19th. After that I will watch this tournament. Their live coverage on DGN and their commentary as well as their camera angles are unpalatable. They ruined it and still are too stubborn to fix it due to greed. Maybe one day they will cater to the fans. Most people I talk to are still not ever going to watch DGN. It sucks. We always wait until post production. It’s much better and less annoying. We won’t don’t pay for garbage.

Not sure why people keep talking about the complicated format. It's pretty simple.

Where usdgc coverage at?

Calvin lost because of his putting. Most of the tournys were his to lose this year... And if Eagle could control his damn emotions, and quit being such a priss, he would be almost unstoppable.

maybe im looking at it wrong, but shouldnt the players lower on the tier list be the ones who get the extra points so they have a better chance of keeping up/winning? instead of the best players getting to start with -6

This event is meant to reward the whole year, not just the weekend of the tournament. The players at the top just need to not make too many mistakes because they've earned it all year long.

No. Its a year long thing that gets someone to qualify for this tournament. Why would someone who played well all year be punished and someone that played worse than them get a head start? Its a tour championship so it takes into account the whole tour

I hate to say it because this place looks way fun to play, but filming here has to be brutal, it is tough to see where some of these are going
