Hello, are you using the canfd adapter in the d8 or the its build in the machine couse in the video i dont see that youre using one so im curios if its needed thanks for answer.

It's built in to the D8. If you have a D7, it's necessary.

How would you compare this to autel Km100? Not concerned with the diagnostic side of the tool. Just key adding mainly.

@@markmccormickkeys I’m in the process of deciding what key tool to buy. We mainly do Asian cars. And just looking to add keys. Don’t want to buy multiple tools as of yet. Already gave way too much invested on the diag side of the business 😬

I try doing a 21 silverado without digital dash and could not communicate. Any thoughts? Or did i do something wrong?

2021 Silverado should be the old system. Did you auto vin or enter manually? Sometimes entering manually will get better results.

Hi, so I have an xtool d8 and I was wondering if it’s the same process on adding key on 2023 GMC Sierra, I believe it’s the new system coz it’s almost same key fob as this one. Do you think I won’t have any problem? Thankx

Yes. The server is down. SPS is the only way not.

I have both because they both rely on servers to get the job done. If one is down, I can use the other one.

Unfortunately no. The only way to program any keys to these cars is using GM software. The aftermarket tools are letting us down on these cars/trucks.

Do you know if this d8 can do 2021 Cadillac ct5 all keys lost? If not any other tool capable - ignition wouldn’t turn on

I've done all keys lost on this platform with the D8. Not a CT5 yet but it should work no problem.

Ignition won't turn on until the key is successfully programmed in my experience. D8 has you turn on hazards plus open and close the driver's door every 10 seconds while programming. Did you do that?

How do you find xtool to work on newer cars. Heard alot of ppl saying their software is glitchy etc

Actually it's the other way around for me on my d8, 2000 and under is glitchy only for diagnostic side of things, the key programming side works awesome. Now for 2000 and up for the diagnostic side of things it was a hit or miss but as of lately the software seems to have mature and they worked out a lot of the problems.

I have to try it more often. I used it on a few older Chevrolet models the same day I made this video and it worked great. Not great on new Toyotas but I haven't bought the Anytoyo piece yet.

Thank you for this video. The D9 has all this tool does? And does the JVCI (white) device that comes with some D9’s worth the price? Is that the J2534 pass thru?

I had a Autopropad G2 Turbo that had that same white VCI device. I was unable to use it as a J-box with any factory scan tool software. I'm not sure if it's possible.

Good video. Now what do you think about the autopropad g2? Is it a good one or just not worth it?

you dont need to spend the amount of money for the g2 unless your doing this all the time, u can get by with a propad well, or a autel 508

Some say never. This is the issue with Chinese tools, there's no communication at all with the manufacturer.

Is there a way to disable the missing key? Are the servers back up for the D8? Can it still program these new generation Chevy keys?

I have attempted to program both a 23 suburban and 23 Silverado with the D8 using the free pin. Not a single time has this worked. Keep getting an message about an unstable server, or something similar. Is this truly a server issue or have i wasted money on the D8?

If you bought the D8 only for these cars, you may have wasted your money. The server could come back tomorrow. The server may not ever come back. The D8 can do many other cars as well.

I wanted to ask that why autel is not compatible to get free Pin?

Yes. Unfortunately, the servers are down and may not come back. Xtool was doing these illegally and G.M. shut them down.

Right now? Newer Nissan Rogue/Sentra (2021+)! It's still a very expensive tool that is difficult to justify the cost plus the subscription.

I have a Autel im608 pro 2 & im508 & can do these but I heard some guys just recently started using their j2534 with canfd+sps to do them but idk why Autel is falling behind they keep telling me their waiting on paperwork to get signed blah blah

I have Xtool pad3, didn't do it, and i emailed Xtool. they told me to pay them $20 to do it. Do you have any idea about $20 i have to pay Xtool to do that job? Thanks in advance.
