Sir, your video was informative and well done. We have 2022 and agree with your assessment. Regarding the brake dust issue. So far that hasn’t been an issue for us. However, it was on our C7. We solved that by installing Carbotech pads. Now I must say the C7 did have the Z51 package and our C8 did not. I just didn’t feel it was worth the extra expense. Saying that if you plan on tracking the car the Z51 package is a MUST option. Again your video was very well done. Cheers!

My experience with the c8 had a crawl mode activation when it said the differential was overheating along with the check engine light coming on only to go away after the car was parked and restarted. Several camera and electrical issues and that was only a week worth of driving the car. They seem very temperamental.

I bought my C8 and it is now a little over a year old and I have to agree with the comments. Especially the heated and cooled seats and the charger placement. I was suprised how hot the trunk got but I don't use this car for food shopping and if I do it just a short drive to the store. I don't have any way near 12 K more like 3,700 miles. The blank screne happened only once, so I'm not worried about that. The ceramic coat is a must paid $1,800. Mine is a 2LT with Z51, the 2LT is also highly recomended. This is a great car and for the money one of the best sports car in the world!

Nice Video. FYI, I have a 2022 Coupe 3800 mi and had the dash pod going black at startup and when driving I used the stop and walk away with the FOB and then restart and it also would be OK. It started to occur too often I took the Vette in to my dealer they attempted to reprogram the pod and it would not take the down load, GM had them replace the Dash pod still NG. It took a week, but GM figured out the fix with two different program down loads. So far so Good Hope this helps.

@@FindtheRightRoad I'm going to take it easy and keep it under 4500RPM maybe a little higher once the 500 mile limit is reached from time to time but, not to the limit. Will change transmission filter and add 2 quarts of GM spec Trans oil at 1500 miles. Then at around 2,000 or 2500 see how it does with all the engine and trans gadgets. I think that will be very safe at this point.

This is the best Corvette Chevy has ever built, and waiting to buy the car for 40 years, believe me I know. Leach Wilson Chevy in Shelbyville IL is selling me, my build of the car a C8 3LT Z06 with the Z07 package for MSRP. Aaron is my sales rep and he, as well as the rest of the sales reps, have been awesome. They are selling my build at MSRP, and as soon as I get it I will post it on line. These guys need to be commended for being so honest, and willing to work with the customer. They are way better than any other dealer I've dealt with. Most of the dealers are out for themselves, its not that they aren't making enough money but they want to gouge for more. I had one dealer try to sell me a used Z06 that didn't have the Z07 package for over $ 210K??? Golf Mill was the worst they told me they didn't want my build that they would order what they wanted and auction it off to the highest bidder. These guys need to be boycotted.

Great review. I highly recommend a ceramic coating. I have Kamikaze ISM Coat 3.0 on my Audi, and absolutely love it. It will make your C8 look like it’s been dipped in glass. Water will run right off it. Getting the rims coated won’t keep the brake dust off them, but the dust will come off much easier. Make sure you use one designed for rims, or the heat will destroy the coating. Think about having the leather coated as well.

I once purchase the top of the line battery for my Hayabusa motorcycle it died 7 months bought a cheap piece of crap from China 25% the price lasted me 4 years and still going the bottom line the guy was correct the guy was screwed with the price options are inflated.

I have family members that live on both sides of Woodward so everyone was treated to some Cruising time in my 22 C8 on Woodward. My favorite area to let it breathe is in the tunnel under 696. Zoom😊 I lost my key fob in the front cabin a couple of months back. Several people at the dealership have had a go at it, trying to find it, also Several friends, no luck. Any thoughts out there ? We have a 2007 we purchased new and it only has 38K miles. Most of the problems we have had were due to lack of quality during original manufacturing. One shifter would no longer come out of park and 2nd gas fumes from the gas tank. Both of these repairs were quite costly and not covered under warranty. Great cars but I would expect more for the money!

First off, great review and love your honesty. Now for some things to help you enjoy your car more. To start, Ceramic coat it! You’ll love the result and the benefits of it. It’ll help keep the car cleaner and makes cleaning it easier. Also you can Ceramic coat majority of the car to include the wheels and glass too. Which would help in your fight against brake dust on the wheels. Ceramic coating your C8, and any other vehicle you have, is very much worth it and very beneficial. You can choose to get it professionally installed or get a diy kit (Amor Shield) and do it yourself. If you go the diy route just know that even though the application may be quick and easy, the prep to apply is more time consuming and the more attention spent in that part the better the results after application. Hope this helps!

about the radiator guards... The chief Corvette Engineer said that they experimented with grills, but they reduced the cooling of the DCT oil and that it could cause problems if you track the car or live in the south where summers are really hot. He said that GM could decline the warranty claim if you have overheating issues and have the guards installed. Yeah, the nicks and dings are unsightly, but he said they don't effect cooling...

We just got a new CRV with remote start and I'd really rather not have that feature. It's suppose to go off in 10 minutes but if a glitch starts it who knows. It's a detached garage, so WTF like the neighbor said "both insured, new garage, new car, new lawnmower, cash for all the old crap,,, take some pictures." our old house by the airport the garage door would open on it's own about once a year, neighbors too. Blamed airport communications. Never knew for sure.

Yes, I’ve had the same issue with the car starting by itself in the garage I went out couldn’t understand where the noise was coming from and in the garage my car was running. I couldn’t believe it. My keys were in the house.

Regarding the inexplicable spontaneous starting..... Car thieves can clone/spectrum the electronic codes to open and/or start any car or garage doors for that matter. Sophisticated car thieves would see your Vette as a high value target.

@@FindtheRightRoad But it's possible there are electronic devices available on the internet that can do a "sweep" of things such as the Apple Air Tag, before stealing it. Thieves today are always one step ahead of manufactures' anti-theft efforts.

@@FindtheRightRoad Not really a great strategy. Consumer technology like that is kindergarten stuff for professionals and it doesn't prevent them from getting the car. At best you'll find it wrecked or stripped to a shell (chopped for parts) if they don't get it to a barge to China for resale @ 3 times retail. Go old school. Prevent the theft with something like a professionally installed/well hidden fuel/ignition/power cut off switch. Can't be hacked.

Did “Go Blue” impact your color decision, lol. I’m university of Michigan graduate and waiting for mine to arrive from Les Stanford dealership next month, but went with the Red Mist Tincoat. First corvette I can fit comfortably in and recently retiring thought it would be good gift to myself. Do you belong to a corvette club in the area that you would recommend? I’m looking forward to Ron Fellows driving school have some track experience in other sports cars.

I also love Red Mist Metallic. Good choice. I am not a member of a local club. There are several in metro Detroit. The largest is Corvette Club of Michigan. Check out my Ron Fellows video to learn all about the class.
