2023 CFmoto 450SS - Installing Mustard Bikes tail tidy (fender delete)

Finally got around to installing the tail tidy for my bike. Shoutout to Mustard Bikes for making a great, high quality part! I figured I would document the steps I took in case anyone finds it helpful.

FYI the tool kit you found under the operator's seat has a 5MM allen key in it. Also, under the rear seat there is a spot to clip that 5mm key into. You can then use the bike key to access the 5mm allen under the rear seat to gain access to the tools under the operator's seat. Hope that is helpful information.

Which wires went to which lights?

I’ve come across an issue with the wiring. None of my lights, including headlights and tail light are not working. Did you come across this issue?

Hello man! Great video. From where did you buy the red accents on the bike? Would love to change the blue to red on mine soon!

So sorry for the delay in response. I actually ordered everything directly from CFmoto through my dealer.

@noobtudemoto Do you have to use the factory turn signals

Hey - I wouldn’t say you HAVE to use the stock signals, no. However, I will say where the signals sit into the main bracket, it’s specifically cut to ensure the stock signals can’t rotate at all. So, if you have signals that are shaped differently, they may not sit in there as cleanly.

Did you use the 190mm or the 258mm tail tidy for this install?

I know, I know, I wasn't going to answer you for calling my bike ugly....but here we are. LOL I used the 186MM option as my states motorcycle plates are 7.4". The larger option on the Mustard Bikes site (254mm) is likely more suited for full size license plates that you see on standard cars/trucks if I had to guess...Some states/countries may not have different size plates.

Why not just go to auto zone and buy 2 6in yellow led strips and wire them in to turn signals and stick the one on each side so u don’t have ugly turn signals hanging off the side. It would look so much better if your doing all that work to eliminate the rear fender why not eliminate all of it.. and u have them small cowls on the tail you could tuck the led inside of and it would light each side up when u turn it on. That. Would be sweet.

In my opinion, I don't mind the look of the factory lights. Plus, they are very bright and I like that they point directly back towards the traffic rather than being off to the side of the bike. The overall intent of adding a fender delete was to get rid of that long plastic piece that overhangs over the wheel. I like for my lights to be highly visible, and this product does that for me!

all i want to see is a fender eliminator that makes the tail lights the actual blinders so that all u need to stick out is the plate and the plate light

Wouldn't be DOT legal in states which says directionals need 9" of space in between.
