    I have the same quad. I have 70 miles on mine and noticed the same things. I knew about all of them before hand. I had mine flashed last week and the heat from the huge 1000 v twin is almost all gone. I can ride in shorts with no issues. Bike does make some sounds but its not more then other cvts I owned. Love the power!

    That’s awesome Adam ! Who did your flash ? The heat is stout for sure , my brutes got hot on the leg as well . The power is insane! I just thought my modded brute was stout lol. There’s a few fit and finish things they need to touch up . But I’m all can am now with the X3! I’ll be posting race vids soon, I think it could be very interesting vs the 120hp x3 lol . The video above this one I just posted a couple days ago ripping it in the mountains , i love it !

    That’s awesome Mike ! I’ve read some Outlanders depending on the different casts on the rear diffs don’t make as much noise as others . It’s a minor gripe of course as I do prefer a quiet drivetrain , but no biggy. I’ve been getting a few more miles on it riding with my boys and their two new midsize machines .

    It sure does Logan. I noticed that quickly . I have a finicky eye for small things . Man after owning all brands now it just is what it is , North American manufacturers just can’t, or don’t care to match Japanese quality and fit and finish . There’s space b/t the fender flares and the fenders too. They get away with it because no Japanese company makes a 90hp class muscle quad . I’m a can am fan and definitely would rather have my outlander than my Polaris sportsman 1000 I had , but it’s definitely got its issues . That kingquad I had was so silky buttery smooth quality and fit and finish , just no cahonas . If Yamaha or Suzuki made a 90-95hp 1000 can am and Polaris both would have a serious problem. Overall I absolutely love it . I just don’t act like whatever I buy is the best thing on the planet with no issues simply cause it’s what I bought . Thanks for watching bud !

  • @joekearney

    @joekearney

    6 ай бұрын

    They are FAST. I grew up riding since I was 4 years old so I always had a lot of experience as I went along . The power is extremely abrupt down low , and could easily get you in trouble if you’re playing around and not focused on what you’re doing . If you’re very experienced Offroad and can enjoy it sensibly at 16 I think you would be fine , but don’t let that 1000R Rotax outrun your common sense . I’d honestly recommend starting out with a new 700 outlander or possibly a 650 Renegade . Make no mistake that 650 packs a serious punch and would get you used to hard hitting machines . For a first quad I think the 1000R may be a bit to spicy . But then again I went from 3 wheelers to a 500 sportsman when I was 14.

    How does this compare to your grizzly. Excellent video.

  • @joekearney

    @joekearney

    6 ай бұрын

    Well it’s almost apples to oranges . The Grizzly is an amazing machine even being dated . In a nutshell the Outlander has a smoother ride , bigger comfy couch feel , handles just as good to me , and of course is in another stratosphere power wise. Grizzly is built better (Suzuki kingquad 750 is cream of the crop in fit and finish and overall build quality however after owning both ) has an overall better 4wd system unless you get the XTP outlander which has the locking front end . The Visco Lok QE does however work as it’s supposed to though , I’ve tested it a few times now . Grizzly drivetrain is better for sure , the ultramatic cvt and Quadmatic from Suzuki is best in the industry . Both are silky smooth and quiet . They’re just both to underpowered now . Flooring either one for me was a snooze fest after owning 3 Brutes , a 1000 sportsman , and then the f grizzly KQ and back to the outlander 1000R now. The fit and finish needs improvement on the Outlander and the drivetrain noise from the rear pinion gear or rear diff whichever is very annoying . Overall it’s qualities far outshine it’s negatives . The 3 mode engine braking , 3 mode power management, 3 mode power steering is all dialed in to perfection . Oh and it’s a rocket ship lol.

    Drivelines have to be able to oscillate due to the movement of the rear differential under operating conditions jounce and rebound acceleration and deceleration causes the differential to move and the engine to remain stationary with the frame hence the need for universal joints additionally the u-joints need to operate on an angle so that they rotate the needle bearings on the trunnions or the cross of the joint if they do not rotate the needle bearings will hammer into the cross causing false briniling on the cross of the u-joint there is a whole scientific process

    I fully agree but I had read into some of it before hand . The big VTwin is rough on gas during break in . They also run pretty lean from the factory , I’m sure a tune would help with the heat but we’ll see. The CVT noise I don’t like bud it’s possible it’s normal because the cvt on the brutes I had was fairly noisy on all 3 of them . I fully agree though and I’m still going to call as I know the guy and go over it . Thanks for watching brother !

    Well, it completes the gambit for me of owning all major brand atvs . The most recent of the last decade and a half being 3 Brute Forces , sportsman 1000, kingquad 750, and now the outty 1k XT. Yes the gas mileage is bad , but any big bore is going to drink it , it’s a pay to play situation . It’ll do somewhat ok if you leave in work mode and keep the throttle light all day. I’d strap two 4 gallon rotopaxs to it before I gave it up after this past weekends ride in the mountains . The EPS, ITC, and IEB is dialed in to absolute perfection. It certainly has its flaws like all machines do, and I pointed out hopefully in the video , but it rides far better than i expected , handles very well , sounds amazing , and man….I just thought my tuned dual muzzies brute force was fast . This thing is absolutely insane. The video above this one on my channel is of it in the mountains , I value everyone’s opinions! I’m just glad you’re out supporting the Powersports fun we all love ! Thanks for watching brother .
