    I loved your recognition of the back of the pack runners. I’m a 5-hr marathoner still trying to put it together. Getting that 4:XX time would be another victory during the marathon journey we all are on❤

    Hi tina! Super video! Try carrying a bottle of electrolyte and drinking at least a liter by the 13 mile marker. Aftereards, you can walk through each AS and drink 2 cups of electrolyte. This will keep the cramps away and get you closer to your 3:40 goal. Have a great day and a meaningful run!

    Nice work! I ran this year’s CIM too. It was my first marathon ever and In my research leading up I’ve watched your previous CIM videos and you’re an inspiration: you don’t quit. I too lined up with the 3:50 group, I was shooting for 3:50 +/-5 and ended up running it in 3:54. In fact, that’s me a few people behind your right shoulder at 14:27, I’ve got the red hat on. Had I’d known you were so close I would have said hello!

    @@Tinatravelsandruns I'm not sure another one is in the cards. I'd like to BQ if I do, which means shaving 30 minutes off my time which would put that at almost a full-time job. I used the Stryd footpod and ran for power so my pace was all over the place if ypu look at it on a graph but I maintained the prescribed power output and it nailed the finishing time.

    Great job finishing strong and staying positive!! I think the cramps might be due to dehydration no? Actually, it also happened to me at mile 21 in Chicago, I stretched it out and toughed it to the finish.

    Thank you! I think the cramps were more from not being as well conditioned as I thought I was, but definitely need to be more conscientious about fueling. Maybe I needed to front load my fueling before hitting the wall in the later miles.

    Ran CIM this year too! Nice to see all the Sacramento sites again in your video as I came in from South GA. I lined up in the 3:15 group but quickly left them and then ran past the 3:10 group as well. Big 17 minute PR and 41 minute BQ. 3:08:22 for a 60 year old!!! THANK YOU CIM!!! I stayed up at the start so I could sleep longer. Good luck on the BQ pursuit! Boston is all they say it is! Chicago will be a sub 3:00 try in the AF 3.

    😮 I’m behind Kofuzi at 11:05 🎥. It was a really cool weekend experience at CIM. Did you missed hydration or gels on your run??? I also cramped at mile 21, but took some seconds to stretch and kept going. Had my best marathon time of 3:32. But I did try to get saltstick chews, gels and enough electrolytes. Something that I would continue to work on, cramping is no fun. Congrats on staying strong and finishing the race 🙌🏼🙌🏼💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Up to the half marathon distance, I like the Vaporfly. But the one time I used them for a marathon, my calves were trashed. I'm partial to Adidas, but there are plenty of great options that might provide more support over the marathon distance.

    Hi TIna, I just run my very first marathon at Los Angles Marathon, which I noticed you did too. Just wanted to ask you how many marathons all together have you run so far, and how many you run per year. I'm 62, and plan to become a regular marathoner before my legs start to give up. Also any advice as to which marathons to run in a year for an entry level runner like myself?

  • @Tinatravelsandruns

    @Tinatravelsandruns

    Congrats on your finishing your first marathon! I’ve ran over 20 full marathons since 2017. I run 3 full marathons a year, whereas I used to run 4. I’m trying to focus on qualifying for Boston, so hence cutting back on marathons to emphasize training. I think it’s about what your marathon goals are. If you don’t care about your time and your goal is to finish, then you can run as many as your body can handle. I think most people focus on running one spring marathon and one winter marathon. Training takes a lot of time!
