The epoxy will be nice for a few years and then it’ll need a light sanding and topcoat with the clear again. No matter what you have, the PPF solution will be slippery. For a home garage, SwissTrax smoothtrax tiles are awesome. The only really durable commercial floor would be porcelain tile with a dark grout.

I have the Swisstrax ribtrax on my home floor. I had epoxy and it just didn’t last. We can have some snowy winters and my floor is always free of debris and is non slip. Also washing my cars in the winter is easy. I really don’t do much wrenching on my cars so that is not really a concern.

Beautiful car and beautiful work too. I really like the wheel coating you used and the rust inhibitor for the rotors is a great idea. Looks like a much better solution than when the old man sprayed my rotor on my go kart because I was whining about the brakes grabbing. I cannot wait to see the gloss on the Vette. Floors are a huge pain and the epoxy is a good idea. We use to use muriatic acid to strip the floors before applying the epoxy. Thank you for the video.

Great vehicle , no doubt it will be a master piece by the end of job. Can I make a suggestion in regards to flooring, I found polished concrete with a non slip clear coating to be the best option.

I had my garage done with epoxy back in 2017. Love it, but make sure they put down enough of the stuff to make sure it is not too slippery when wet.

  • @georgebrooks58

As for the flooring. Polished concrete. You can color it and seal it with a heavy durable clear coating.

Try a polyurea or polyaspartic coating. As well as being at least as durable as epoxy, they cure much faster and they are flexible too. I remember you saying you have quite big swings in weather and temperature there Brian, I think, so they will handle the movement in your floor much, much better than an epoxy.

Brian I work for a winery and we go through epoxy flooring quite quickly our situation is with hot water we’ve been messing around with Polyaspartic however when wet it gets very traction limited and you could add a traction aids such as some sort of sand agent.

I prefer normal bare concrete floors. nasty jobs, just put a painters blanket on the floor. I couldn't tell you the coating my work place used, but it holds up to brake clean, diesel fuel spills, and solvent based parts washer fluid. down side to that floor is it is slippery when wet.

  • @scottwhite4711

One other thought…. Prepping the shop floor for coating is critical. Diamond grind and clean the floor is the most important step

On my 2011 ram dually I used a telegenesic polymer dual sided coating and sublimated it with some lemon juice. That really keeps the frenetic index down. Then I spent 75 cents at the wonder wash and it was perfection.
