Good eye! I first experienced the automatic seat bolsters in my 2017 W222 S, and while they might seem like a gimmick, they work well to hold you in place. If you go through a sweeper, they inflate/adjust slowly, but crank the wheel hard and they tighten-up fast. I have to agree with James, a buddy of mine just got a 2015 A8 and the door cards are the first thing that I noticed and are designed impeccably.
the reason the 7 series doors only go a little bit when you try to auto open them from the outside is due to where you are standing when you press the button. the car tell the door is gonna hit something so it stops itself. try stepping off to the side and hitting it and it will work.

Audi often uses better materials and every single car comes with real leather as apposed to BMW, but still they’re head on with each other. Mercedes is known to be very creaky and despite the great leather and nice features a lot of their interior parts are cheaply made.

Are they perfect without any service issues at all ever...NO, I had a couple friends that didn't listen, kept pushing off the regular scheduled maintenance, which would have been a couple hundred dollars ($780 to $900), BUT because they pushed it off for to long, one had a timing belt issue which ended up costing them nearly $3,000, of course they went nearly 60,000 miles OVER the timing belt, water pump, tune up, etc service, so that was on them, but aside from that, pretty much all my friends have been very, very happy with their Audi's. One of my friends wives is really pissed because her husband keeps "borrowing" her A6 which I helped her pick out, because her husband doesn't like driving his new Corvette in Michigan bad weather and his excuse is that she doesn't have to leave the house, or if she does, its not far that she would have to drive, so she can take the Corvette (which only upsets her more as if she wants to go grocery shopping she has to get a baby sitter for the 3 kids so she can fir at least some amount of groceries in the limited space in the Corvette. I do not have this space issue with either my Audi A6 or even my Porsche 911 C4 (which can fit a shocking amount of groceries), and as for materials, fit and finish, quality of that finish and so on, you will be hard pressed to find better quality unless you step up to Rolls Royce, Maybach, or something of that caliber.

@@TheJamesBond I don't care, only 10 years as mechanics...you could combine both and my main VW/Audi mechanic would still have more than 15 years experience on top of that number as he's been working at 4 different VW/Audi/Porsche dealerships since 1987, and Mike P. knows his stuff, add in my Porsche mechanic, Danny, who's got 28 years experience and I'm all set. These "new" bucks that have only been mechanics for less than 15-20 years are NOT yet great at either the maintenance & service & sales stuff, give them another 10-15 years and they'll change their tune. If you think your better off with a USA or UK made vehicle, I've got a Range Rover Discovery sitting in 1 of my garage bays that won't do jack squat after a Land Rover supplied ECU update, NO Start, NO Crank, No nothing, just a giant paper weight, where as my Audi A6 is going onto 250,000 miles, and my Porsche 911 C4 is creeping up to the 200,000 mile mark. Now with that said, my main UPS driver that has worked there since he was 19, and he's 63 now (he retires for about 5 weeks last year but got so bored, and the UPS depot he's out of couldn't find good driver, he came back), bought a new top of the line fully loaded Ford F-150 4x4 (some limited edition) for a hair over $97k, and it's left him stuck multiple times in the past 3 months with an issue with the cylinder cut off computer, instead of turning off just half of the cylinders to save fuel, it has been shutting off the entire motor, and this is a year and a half old truck, and warranty doesn't do him much good when most dealerships up here are CLOSED on the weekends and the nearest one is a good 30 mile tow or drive for him and don't even get me started on the guys Tesla Model S at work, it's going on its fifth year, he ordered it back in 2015/2016, and finally got his allocation in late 2018, and it was fine for about 8 months, then all the electronic gremlins started in on him, and as for speed, it's NO top speed demon, as even my 2000 Porsche 911 C4 can beat him on top speed, and although he can easily pull away from me doing a realistic 0-60 in around 2.4 seconds (real world, not some pampered, prepped test track) where as my trusty old 911 C4 takes around 3.9 to 4.2 seconds to hook up (keep in mind my 3.4l F-6 is NA and only has around 320-338 (on the dynamic at Ramchargers in Troy Michigan) Horsepower and his Tesla has nearly 3 times that in "Ludacris" mode, which I believe is called that due to the time it takes to engage the fast launch system, as the batteries have to either cool or warm and it does a bunch of other wizardry which usually take 8 to 12 MINUTES!!! No real Racer is going to wait around for nearly a quarter of an hour while you setup your Tesla for 1 run, but my point is that currently for a reliable vehicle, I and many others would still go with Audi or some VW group car, even a Lamborghini, like my buddies LP560/4 Gallardo (that thing is going on over a decade old) and it's still a fun machine, despite people that know poking fun at him because some parts like the air filter box have a "VW" symbol stamped in them. Modern cars are, like biden & everything the democrats touch or push legislation on, a slow, unreliable, expensive piece of $H!T, so think about that when you talk to your 2 mechanics with a combined experience that is 10+ years LESS then even mine.

I'd love to see you guys review the Lincoln continental, ideally the coach addition with the 3.0TT. Be interesting to compare american luxury with these german limos!
I love watching the videos of luxury, sport cars, super cars, and others that are completely unatonable. But in terms of usefulness and knowledge it would be great if there was a videos series that goes over cars for an average salary. Cars in the 20 to 40 thousand price range and things that you guys look for.
James “I’m incredibly uncomfortable 😂. Spare trousers 🤣
Love the video!!
Yo!!! I just started this and did you guys get a new camera? This stuff looks AMAZING! Those opening mountain shots? The shots of the interiors? Jaw dropping

California sun light i would say, i agree looks amazing.
the Throttle House guys, Thomas and James, have taken it up a notch. Well written, executed and funny, this episode makes you want to watch more ... nice, self-effacing promo.
Both of you are very very entertaining.
The opening was classic!
These guys, even though they are avid BMW and Audi fans, the reviews are not Biased. They are True!. I appreciate that.
My favorite thing about you guys is that it's clearly not scripted at all. The whole thing is one long conversation and it makes the video flow super nice and feels natural to watch. The deliberate sub par acting for the sake of the joke is also hilarious. Please, stick to your roots on this one and keep up the good work.

It do sound like it, but I am sure they have scripted and practice it numerous time to make it sound so natural yet very well structured.

You are contradicting yourself buddy. If it's not scripted, which it obviously is, they can't do 'sub par acting'.

@@Liphzzy there’s certain and deliberate corny acting because corn and cringe is what the joke is in that particular gag. While the debating and discussing is more of a conversational flow. I totally said that weird
Loved every aspect of this video minus the lack of opinion on the bliss of 5 wacky cylinders. Much love
WeatherTech saves my back seat in our Jaguar with the pet covers. Great coverage. Get vid also!!! Love the S Class. Mercedes & Jag family here.

Oh, and I'm in California....and it's rage raining. SO WeatherTech is needed everywhere.
"you know I don't actually care about looks. Oh good. Let me direct you to the new 7 series" 🤣🤣 You guys are brilliant 😂
You guys are the best at what you do.👊
Great review!!!! My wife is a tech head, so she wants the 7series in all its glory. I've loved BMW for years (shout to the '01 E38), but I hate that BIG grille. I'm more towards Mercedes/Audi. Keep popping out these videos!!!

Great choice as a tech person
The coolest feature of the new (2021+) S-Class in my opinion is the multicolor - full-screen heads-up display which the test car here did not have. I know several friends who upgraded their rides for that feature alone. I cringe when I see one without the HUD at a dealer's lot. I think you guys should at least talk about it :).
I really cannot wait for the new S8 for the trio to be complete!
