That is one way to "run in" an engine

Interesting. Fuel efficiency can be also affected from cold temperatures and winter tyres. Plus the fact that car is brand new as you stated.

its affected of engine which are not suitable for this size of vehicle !! for this vehicle its much better 3 liter engine while this 2 liter will only drink lot of fuel and have lot of repairs and unrealibility

@@Mr11ESSE111 a very good friend has an allroad 3.0 TDI (45tdi 231hp Version, not the 245 hp). With a quiet ECU remap (same complete engine and transmission as the 50 TDI ultill year 2020), it improved fuel efficiency a lot. It does 20 kml (5 l/100km) at 130 kmh constant. It's impressive considering it's a 3 liter, has permanent 4wd and 8 gear Steptronic . And it's considerably fast!

The car only has 170 km on it, going full throttle? I don’t know if it’s that good for the engine.

With today's engines this is actually no longer necessary, except perhaps for high-performance engines...

@@till8014 This is what the 2023 A6 owners manual says: A new vehicle must be broken in within the first 1,000 miles (1,500 km) so that all moving parts work smoothly together, which helps to increase the service life of the engine and other drive components. Do not drive higher than two-thirds of the maximum permitted engine RPM during the first 600 miles (1,000 km) and do not use full acceleration. The engine can be increased RPM gradually during the next 300 miles (500 km).

@@bmwm550dtouring is correct, new cars need around 1k km of mild driving before it's ok to rev it to the max as usual. New tires need the same, before reaching max grip.

It consumes as much fuel as my e91 330xi, with a much less reliable engine… progress hasn’t been made here At least, the diesel engines on these are great

I had exactly this car with this engine for 4 days. Terrible fuel consumption. I drove pretty economic on Autobahn most of the time 120-160 and some small sprints and the car needed 10.8 l per 100km. Thats just too much for driving like I did.

Seems strange. Previous iterations of 2.0 TSI were very efficient. But even on this video it seems thirsty for what it is. I believe it is "Ultra" Quattro with mostly decoupled rear axle so it shouldn't have too much drivetrain losses either unlike the permanent one with Torsen differential.
