2023 Audi A3 / I Was Wrong

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Audi A3 was redesigned to increase its broad appeal, but that usually comes at the cost of character. Usually... Let’s see if it has what it takes to go against cars like the Mercedes A class / CLA, BMW 2 series and Acura Integra!
Thank you, Royal on the Eastside, for letting me test drive an A3 to make this video possible!

I always wondered: Are you guys in the US just speeding with such cars or why would you need a lot of hp? I am German, so I think in terms of Autobahn. But if all cars are just allowerd 120km/h or so, why get a quick car? Here you get it, because you want to sometimes drive with 200-300km/h on the Autobahn and reach your destination quicker, but in the US you would probably go to jail for that, or not?

Interesting to hear you say it has less zip than a gti. At least at low speeds (like from a stop sign for example) I found it far more responsive and quick off the line. Test drove a top trim gti and was very underwhelmed. Drove a 2023 a3 the next day and bought it on the spot.

I enjoy your videos and have seen several. I am in the middle of my car search and am considering this exact version A3 ( but in Atol Blue) OR a 2023 VW GTI with DSG auto ,S trim ( or40th Anniversary if I can get one) ......I live in NC and just don't need Quattro. FWD is fine. ( I have owned 3 prior Audis with Quattro BTW)......The GTI is more powerful and slightly less expensive ( ~35k) where this A3 looks better inside and out for 39k (ish)......What would you do if you were me?. I am coming out of an 2018 Audi TT Quattro Coupe.

Idk. Seems like a lot of money to then pay extra to get features. And then remind you if you didn't. One might reason a very well equipped "lower class" car for the same price might be a better purchase. Especially if it makes more than 200hp.

@Realistick I wonder why VW Golf gets so many comparisons. They are 2 separate cars and each have their own drivers and enthusiasts. They always put the Golf R against the s3 when they should be comparing the Golf R to the RS3 and the GTI to the S3 but they never do and always want the Golf to crush the Audi but I just don't think Golf has the line to compare to the Audi line up of cars. Can you even compare an S8 to a Jetta? VW is a great line of cars. My old GTI cabriolet is one of my fave cars I've ever owned but it can't compare to an Audi S4 Convertible in performance and style well maybe style.

@@boodits Derp. The R and S3, similar AWD (minus the R having the torque vectoring rear diff), have the same engine and are somewhat-reasonably closely priced. The RS3 is around 50% more expensive than the R, has a different engine entirely. You can get an S3 for almost DOUBLE the cost of a GTI. (Juuuust under 60k for S3 Prestige with options vs 32k for the base GTI.) The S8 and Jetta don't: share an engine, share a platform, share the same horsepower rating (+/- 6 horsepower), share a transmission, much of the drivetrain, etc. etc. etc. Your comment makes zero sense.
