2023 Anton Colorado Wheat Harvest with Meinke Farms
In this video I am out in a wheat field south of Anton Colorado with Meinke Farms as they are custom harvesting a Colorado Farmers winter wheat crop. Meinke Farms is out of Missouri and does custom wheat harvesting in the summer throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska.
In the video they are harvesting the wheat with their 3 John Deere X9 1000 combines all with 50 foot wide Deere flex draper heads and their Case IH 620 quad track pulling a Kinze 1500 grain cart.

Good video Mike. I'm hoping to meet the Meinke's this coming season. It's always great getting some good X9 action! I had a chance to run a X9-1100 with a 50 foot header a couple of rounds last season and It was the highlight of my year. I'll be out chasing combines this season again, so I might catch you on the trail somewhere! I'm planning a pretty extensive run this year, especially in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas during wheat.

Not sure why I find this so fascinating to watch. It's interesting. I've never seen endless acres of fields in person.

I just cant believe how they have access to just such a large variety of fruits , trees and plants. Feels like they live in paradise. Fresh produce right on their door step , surrounded by nature and enjoyed together in a close knit family and community! All the money in the world cant buy what they have.

I grew up with the two brothers who run this outfit. A couple years their dad harvested our crops for us. Good guys.

I work for their cousins up here in North Central Iowa. Really good video and I sent the video to Mitchell Meinke and his dad and they thought that was pretty cool also.
We were thankful for the wheat we got this year. Best wheat harvest we've had.

Mike, thanks for another impressive video from you. In a dense crop those JD X9s have a slow ground speed with 50 foot heads.

Although, the X9 with a 50 foot head in that dryland wheat has good ground speed. I hate to be too critical but at 9.45 into this video the going was slow in that lodged, (down) wheat. Maybe they just slowed down to do a better job of picking up the crop.

Non farmer in NC....how refreshing it is that Mike doesn't feel the need to TALK the entire video! That alone kills it for me on other farm channels I watch...I watch a small dairy operation..less than 200 head...in PA...then another in Wisconsin with beef cattle, then another in NY with 1500-2000 dairy cows....then comes Mike's stuff. He is on large commercial farms on a scale far bigger than the others I watch...

If amazes me how much those machines can accomplish in a day compared to what I farmed with but 50 years does make a difference then again one combine cost more than all 13 tractors and 5 combines that we had then

Hooking up with a custom harvesting crew has been on my mind for 40 years. The stars never aligned, and now I'm too old. Bummer.

Mike, Great Drone work! Those X9s are quite the machines. 3 that replaced 4. Are the grain semis part of their fleet or contract haulers? Been to Colorado, but missed the planes part.

The semi trucks and trailers belong to the custom harvester, They do it all.
It looks like the outfit is running LSW tires on their combines
