The color matched fenders, the Rays, the wing and the overall stance set's it off. Red and black looks great.

I completely agree the red fender flares really make it look aggressive. Breaks up that cross trek look

No thanks. I would go in a different direction with my build, so I'm glad the stock price isn't increased by that wing, those skirts and all the junk I would remove from it.

Not a fan of the new one but my door is still open for an upgrade down the line. Its not like they are going to end it with the 2022 but many years ahead of upgrades, facelifts and etc coming. Looks good. I think 19" wheels would look a bit better on this model. Just my 2cents

@@misael1396 but that’s exactly what I’m saying. 700 dollars for painted fenders if you have someone else do all the work and then coils and a front lip and that’s it. And honestly it’s 2 inches wider than the old chassis and it seems to have sharper lines so to me it doesn’t look as much of a toy as the old one did. Looks are preference but other than an extra 700ish for painted fenders like what’s the real complaint. Put some coils and a front lip and there you go just like you said

Now you just need to make the headlights a bit longer. They look disproportionately small.

That wing looks as bad as a whale tail on a mini-van.

I'm not a fan of the VB at all ( more so on the powertrain side ) but it sucks that you have to get THIS much aftermarket stuff just to make the new chassis look good. Your build is awesome and thanks for providing the content though!

The Wing is okay. Subaru never was going to put an oversized wing on the new gen STI fyi. Only a duckbill that is offered from factory for this 22 WRX. Also painted fenders are hideous. Why sand down aerodynamically positive aesthetics for paint match? Super dumb imo. I think the black fenders are great. It’s what the car was made with and should stay that way. People modding it to their spec is fine but to think it’s “better” is wrong. Get modern my guy.

The wing is a point of contention, sure, but it’s mostly because it doesn’t quite match the dwarfish back end and questionable Accord-style taillights. Hardly the wing’s fault, though. The plastic fenders, on the other hand? Huge turn off in the WRX community. Most people compared them to the fenders on an Outback, which are functional for off-roading but not visually appealing in the slightest. I think you stand alone on that island.

This is a time in the automotive world where over-styling and underperforming is the new norm. Notice I didn’t call the new WRX a bad car, because quite frankly, it isn’t. But there was an overwhelming outcry against its design upon reveal, and that’s simply a fact.

This is the only way this car is bearable in my eyes. It's a shame you have to drop $10k just to fix it's ugly ass looks. AFD and IAG both killed it when styling these things.
