The Polo vivo Gt is the best concept by vw , a sweet spot between the vivo and tsi plus it has a tsi engine

I have a 2016 1.2 tsi highline. It has a 6 speed manual gearbox and I like it. But yeah, it gets little bit annoying on back to back traffic. My left leg gets really sore from pressing and releasing clutch pedal. I prefer manual because I feel more in control of the car, it's fun to drive as well.

I won’t lie the thrill of shifting gears is like nothing else , so on that one I’m with you , but for people who hate traffic and the pressure it comes with I don’t recommend it.

I also love manual transmission all day, am disappointed VW no longer bring manual transmission on their GTIs, we should have choices, not all of us live in Gauteng, South Africa is huge and we all don’t experience traffic, and we don’t drive fast cars like we are racing in a racetrack to he be the 1st one, we driving these magnificent cars to enjoy them.

Manual transmission engines have a longer lifespan and VW DSG engines aren't exactly worth it. Once they reach 100km you will feel them, that time you've no service plan and the warranty is almost over. I think I'd go for a low mileage or demo, because they normally come with all the extras you'd pay more money for if you bought a new car. Maybe pay extra to extent the service plan if I'm driving a DSG. Great review though 📢

Hi, great video and comparison. Cars are really expensive, about R6000 cost of ownership for polo. A lot of younger and new drivers will pay way more for a comprehensive insurance due to the theft risk factor. Automatic vs manual transmission, automatic are nice easier to drive, however they are more expensive that the same variant manual when bought new, more expensive to repair when damaged, can not push start or tow with another car, needs to be towed with low bed truck otherwise can damage the transmission.

Both sides have pros and cons as you’ve said , I just prefer automatic for convenience especially if you deal with traffic everyday , but if traffic isn’t an issue and you don’t mind then a manual isn’t absolutely fine, in terms of insurance you’re right , depending on the risk profile , the insurance could easily be much higher but if you’re willing to shop around a bargain premium can still be found.

Mina I'm fine with manual transmission. I never drove Auto though, but clutch in clutch out is not a problem. Because it's not like auto cars when they see space they move forward you have to release the brake. And manual cars save fuel compare to automatic. Just compare a manual Polo and automatic Polo or maybe other cars it's not the same

Very lucky , cars in 2019 and 2020 were well priced, and because you got yours while it was cheaper , if ever you decided to trade it in or sell it you won’t take much of a loss because the values of cars have gone up.

Vivos do not have premium sound system like Harman kardon because they are not premium or flagship cars. They are budget cars made for affordability and efficiency. However they did try with a minor sub upgrade on the vivo beats or sound edition by adding a helix subwoofer engineered by vw. To balance out the sound and give a fuller sound experience. Google and research it for yourself

Il do a proper Polo Life review soon , if affordability isn’t a problem then that’s not a bad idea since you’ll be getting a much more modern car for around 500 rand difference to the monthly Installment and in terms of updates the Polo life is now light years ahead of the vivo, the vivo really needs to be updated soon.

I won't even lie I like the manual a lot

On the part about automatic cars, yes! Totally get an automatic car, choose the soft life for yourself! Vw is sooo generous with the floor mats 😂 Electric windows are overrated, you can live without them

@@esthetics4512 Well if you don't have to worry about traffic then manual fine. I'm comfortable with the clutch and moving up a steep hill without rolling back. But I'd rather not have to do it everyday if I can just buy a car that does it for me. After a while of driving it gets tiring. All those car journalists who told us that manual is better because it's more engaging and nicer to drive likely drive automatic cars as their daily cars 😅

You’re taking the longer route, Wendywood is shorter and has less traffic 😂

My tank takes 1200 - 1300 to fill up when almost empty. I suspect the GT might have a bigger tank over the other Vivo's. & this is coming from Namibia where our fuel is a bit cheaper than in SA. Currently at 21.50. But can't find any info about it on the web.

Yes You’re correct Duane the Vivo has an airlock that allows you to fill up beyond the standard 45 litres.

They didn’t ask me, I was told after the fact 😂😂😂. One thing they did me dirty on, installing Mix Telematics Beame ishh, yesses 😢

When it comes to gearbox choice I don't mind having a manual but all I'm saying is if you're going to get an automatic then get a good and reliable one. The nonsense 4 speed auto's that I'm seeing now on the budget cars make me laugh.

Those automatics you’re talking about are horrible , I’m also not a fan of them , I once drove one that would roll back when you stop on steep hills , the only way to hold it in place was to use one foot to brake while applying a bit of pressure on the accelerator so when you release it goes forward , they honestly give automatics a bad name.

It’s top of the range polo vivo, it has a TSI engine. Any it has more power than most of the Polo TSI’s

The vivo has so much cost cutting compare to the polo comfortline/highline 🙈 the vivo is very similar to a polo trendline. I definitely rather rather buy polo highline/comfortline which has a much higher spec than a top spec vivo

The brand new Polo TSi starts at R 329 300, which is an extra R 1 400 , it would be basic with steel rims but it’s still a much bigger car than the GT.
