    Nice review. I think winter driving in EV’s and effect on range is important. Also the AWD aspects will be key. I wonder if the larger Polestar 2 infotainment center will be a better option than the smaller Volvo version? Any thoughts?

    Polestar 2 is a bit smaller and sits lower..but has better performance and large centre screen with more options on it fyi ..its a very personal decision..also depending on your views Volvo is Made in EU the P2 is MIC

    Nice review, but there are no model changes compared to your summer drive. The chrome parts all around at the bottom is just an extra that you can order 😊 The change will be on model 2023, which they will start building in July 2022. That one will get the same front as the C40, so with Matrix LED. My XC40 MY 2023 will be delivered in Sept 2022.

    Have you tried a deep freeze test? Does it still brick the car? Test protocol would be leave it outside overnight in -15 C and see if you can charge it and drive it

    I have seen the fogging up issue in other reviews. I am wondering if the A/C is activated as this would normally take the moisture out of the air as it circulates. Also, is the system set to recirculate or pulling fresh air from outside?

    This is a dealbreaker for me, I was considering the XC40 but if defrost eats 20% of the already short range... no thanks.

    AC on AUTO, instead of Manual, and the problems with fogging windows is gone.

    Yeah. It’s on manual. I’m amazed at how many that have complained doesn’t even know how to use the system. There isn’t a problem here.

    Im bearing the volvos have some quality problems, but that makes me wonder about how the audi is doing since they are the only ones competing for around the same price (volvos quality looks nicar already)

    We own Audi Etron for last 2 years and 60k kms and no major issues with it ..here in Canada base price is almost 30k more so not really in same category unless you have Q4 etron 50 awd in mind which starts at the same price point of 59k$ ..it hasn't arrived yet since all of them stuck in Halifax pending a software update needed for our market

    @@TEVAssociation yea, i financed mine but i pray the car doesnt come with any problems. There are facebook groups to see peoples thoughts and so far only 1 person had a major issue where the car was charged and still wouldnt start. Why did you go for audi instead of the volvo? I asked online and got many opinions most people said audi

    @@MrWTFish 2 years ago Volvo Recharge was not available otherwise it would have been a serious consideration ..at that time it was choice of iPace or Etron since we came from Tesla and wanted to try something else ..unfortunately Mercedes EQC never made it here

    The adoption of electric vehicles is growing. Every legacy auto maker will produce EVs in 2022. It will be crazy when all the electric trucks roll out.

    It's only because the politicians are leaving no other option to the manufacturers. This move is totally artificial and bad globally speaking. Huge energy shortages and long lines at charging stations are the future ahead. Especially with the move to 'green energy' whiich means skyrocketing energy prices and severe shortages.

    @@dingdong2103 Wind and solar energy are safer, cleaner and CHEAPER than fossil fuels. Electric Vehicles are just better. No noise, No emissions, less fuel costs and less maintenance costs. EV sales are growing as ICE sales are declining. Do you still own a Nokia phone or a Kodak camera ?

    @@KJSvitko Wrong on all accounts. Wind energy kills wildlife every day, creates noise pollution and visual disturbance and wind energy raises the electricity prices incredibly much. In Europe the wind energy was first supported for about 1 eur/kwh and now the unreliable nature of wind energy has disrupted the energy markets so that the reliable energy units have been shut down and energy is bought at 10 times the price (yes you read it right) from the energy stock exchange. When there's no wind, there is no wind energy. But the electricity grid can never be out of power or it crashes. Wind power disrupts the whole grid and makes it unstable and extremely expensive because entire coal/gas plants need to be started from backup when there's no wind.

    @@dingdong2103 Wind and solar combined with battery storage provide 24/7/365 day reliable power. Once installed you get FREE energy from the SUN or WIND for decades. Free is cheaper than fossil fuels. It is crazy to pay high prices for oil, coal and gas when energy from the sun is free.

  • @dingdong2103

    @dingdong2103

    @@KJSvitko That is patently incorrect. Battery storages are uneconomical to build and do not exist anywhere in the world with production scale. Where did you get such false information? Sun doesn't shine at night. Fact. Wind doesn't blow every day and especially at winter when consumption is the highest. Fact. So renewables always require vast amounts of nuclear or fossil fuel power to back them up when the unreliable green energy fails to produce.
