2022 Triumph Tiger Sport 660 review - is it worth the money and hype? | OVERDRIVE
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Tiger Sport 660 is Triumph's answer to the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT. Its pricing makes it sit above these two motorcycles, though. Is it worth that asking price or is Triumph charging a premium for a Trident with a fairing? Watch the video to find out!

This review has been very helpful! Most of the US based reviews are just reiterations of the specs and some riding impressions. This shows some real pro's and con's. Thank you.
Glad to hear someone pointing out the faults. Thanks for the honest review.
Great review, clearly shows a lot of shortcomings in Tiger 660, which nobody else spotted!
So a bike designed and intended for the highway is taken off road down rutted tracks, jumped while standing on the pegs and something broke. What a surprise. If you are also so precious that if parts aquire a few scuff marks with use perhaps you should stick to pushing the bike out of the garage, washing it and pushing it back in.

Indians demand the best ergonomics, fit and finish quality especially for a bike that will cost us more than $11k ….it’s in our blood.
A very good review. Straight forward, no beating around the bush. I am a converted subscriber. Keep it up!
Great stuff! Very comprehensive
I really like that you guys are so honest!
Very helpful.. my mind washed watching these videos. Good, I was delayed to head out to Triumph showroom due to circumstances. I was super enthu earlier.. not anymore.

Always ride a bike yourself before saying it's bad. Everyone loves the Duke 390 but I found it pretty off putting to ride. Never really gelled with it.
Very detailed review !
Good review do you think they will make a 660 ADV version?
This is a great, honest review.
I had a look at these bikes in store today. I am a returning rider in my mid fifties looking for something comfortable to do some weekend riding and a bit of touring. I had sort of decided on buying one of these based on the KZread reviews but after seeing them firsthand I am not so sure. The riding position was comfortable enough for me but I couldn’t help but feel that the bikes have been built down to a price. The switchgear is one example. While I am sure it is functional, it looked and felt really cheap. Some of the plastics were the same. On the other hand I also looked at the 2022 Versys 650 and felt the complete opposite re the fit and finish. Also at 1600 Australian Dollars less than the Triumph I’m thinking it may be a better option. I know everyone raves about the Triumph triple and shitcans the 650 twin however here in Australia both models are only available in restricted LAMS form so I know I will never see the full benefit of the Triumph engine. It is also nigh on impossible to get test rides on new bikes as dealers don’t have any demo models due to the global stock shortage. I also liked the look of the upgraded 2022 Honda CB500x but none are currently available in Australia and there is an ETA of about 9 months. Anybody got any other suggestions?

KTM 390 ADV ? Costs less than the 650s Has better tech than the CB500x More or less the same power as that of the CB500x. Should be readily available.
Very thorough and honest review. EXCELLENT.
Great Review !!! 👍
Foot rest breaking off so easily on a 10L bike is shocking! 😳
Very thorough review, beats all US/UK/Aus reviews in terms of eye for detail. Afterall, as Indians, we're good at extracting the max value for every rupee spent and the value for money prop at least in India doesn't make a lot of sense for the Tiger 660 over the Versys 650.
What riding denim you wearing, Rohit? If you don't mind sharing. It's looking really dope.😁
Finally a honest review, bringing out all the aspects with respect to quality control and actual capability of the bike..... Talking about the pricing, Triumph have lost the plot big time.

All of the good aspects of this bike that he points out is what Triumph is going for. It's not an off-roader, it carries the Tiger name but overlanding is clearly not their intention. To compare the Tiger 660 to the versey 650 isn't right either. A good comparison would be the Honda NC 750x. Both are daily commuters that can do a few hundred km on a weekend trip or the occasional long haul while staying on paved roads. Had he not been doing jumps and offroading the peg probably wouldn't have broke, again not the purpose of intention of this bike. One thing I can agree with is the name, Trident ST would have kept the Tiger expectations away.
Great review Nice video
Good review 👍
The panel gap in the tank will drain water saving the groin areas during rain
The design of the bike reminds me of a mesh between tracer 700 and Kawasaki versus 650
heartening to see many foreigners watching Indian reviews!
Honest review... Why not complain when you are paying such a huge price ! It should be perfect..but it's not
Well said 👏
I won street triple 765 and I agree many times I wish I have windscreen. Although aftermarket are available but they are not good.
Request a comparison with BMW F900XR, and whether those few lakhs are worth it or not
I am 6.1 feet tall, and my age is 18. I loved the trident 660 but it would look small on me. So should I get this bike instead. As I want that inline 3 sound.
Nissin are good brakes, it's a really good spec for the price especially the great engine and of course bells and whistles cost a lot. Better simple Speedo , electrics that are simple as less to go wrong. A stand is a good thing.
Wow, that's expensive, I had to Google what a lakh was! It's decent value in Europe even though its made in Thailand. Are there high import tarifs ?

Yes import prices are eye watering in India but most of the time the manufacturers are bit greedy.
Excellent review... Fearlessly critical whereas other reviews are more like reading spec sheet or showering fake praises
Lovely bike!!! Do you thing it is beginner friendly!? Thanx and regards from far away Serbia 🇷🇸
Foot rest broke off!!!?? Would love to see that
Well said.. Awesome Review :)
I don’t recon triumph will release an adventure 660 - l just wish more -so {with hope} ‘they’d make a tigersport with cruise control again❕⚠️ !
Ref footpegs just put daytona rubber footpegs on mine perfect 👍 👍😊
He's dying for this bike to be something it's not. Had Triumph named this bike the Trident Sport tourer (ST) his review and opinion would have kept him on the tarmac and comparing it with the Honda NC 750X. Commuter, weekend trips, occasional long hauls, that's what this bike is. If you plan to find rough terrain and mud, this is not your bike. Look at where the exhaust is, at the bottom of the bike, clear sign this is meant to stay on the road.
Great review, the brake foot lever looks like something off a Chinese 125 budget bike, so tacky
Plastic cover plate at bottom fuel tank is dumb why not fab with full metal
First to view, first to like.❤️
bu motora en çok yakışan renk gri :)
versys is better? can you make the sound of the Versys like the Tiger 660? Even if you put the most expensive exhaust to Versys or V Strom, it won't change the fact they will sound like a tin can with pebbles inside. if that you think is value for money then go for tin can sounds. LOL
Even new versys will come with traction control.
It’s a Triumph Versys 660!!!

I recently had the test drive. The bike is awful in the comfort department. You always slide on the tank as the seat is not U curved like GT & Rally. Not recommended for long touring 👎
No cruise control to keep price down I assume. The bike is fugly and looks more adventure bike than touring bike. I would rather see a Trident RS or RR sports bike. The Honda is probably a better option but not available in the USA.
Just go for versys 650
Kawasaki versys 650 till Yamaha brings tracer 700
1:30 I can do 210kmph without windblast with Trident…but triple…too much windblast

No thank you. I am happy with my adv 390.
price is fine since it's a premium brand and not like Bajaj. 🤣🤣🤣
Better get a Ducati scrambler rather than going for this trident with a faring
Too slow, imo. If Triumph could get their act together and make this exact bike with the street triple engine, I'd put down a deposit.
Come on... Why do we have 98% of this bike's reviews saying how wonderful it is and the best on category and 2% of Indian reviews (all out today) saying it's not worth the price? What's wrong in India that is not happening in the rest of the world?

Motorcycle prices especially imports are ridiculously very high in India compared to the rest of the world and that is why. So for the asking price, it should be good or reduce the price for such poor quality.
