Hi I am a 40 yr old Hoffman bikes nut ( mid-school ) I have 2 2003 star series condor one black and custom and one yellow totally factory, I have 2 instruments one 2003 black star series and factory except the fantastic four piece bars, and an 2002 white pro team instrument it has Alex super G pros front and back , primo pro 170 hollow bite , super tenderizer pedals red shadow v-2 interlock chain crimson red , plus a 06 disruptor el2 and a 2002 haro flair Dave mirra signature , been collecting these bikes for 20 yrs , and still loving it

I love the Soundwave color, probably would be great with other colored parts other than black too

I bought an envy on offer up for 600$ that came with receipts and a WTP hybrid freecoaster. Best money ever spent, and it has 4 pegs! ❤

I actually have both these bikes i have the 2020 translucent gold envy and the 2021 black chrome envy and the 2022 white soundwave. Now both of these bikes are awesome bikes but actually for 2 different styles of riders. The envy is a 10 all the way it’s only con is the lack of warranty my son loves it. The soundwave is a 9.9 with some minor complaints the machining was off some of the bolts when trying to install got stiff really quick also I had to assemble more parts some of the bolts were loose. No biggies. Now I like the look of envy better but I ride the soundwave cause I like the geometry better My son likes the look of the soundwave better but rides the envy cause he likes that geometry better

Good job Dougster! This is the main event I've been waiting for. Your production values have improved a lot. Props. I will say though, if you compare the Soundwave 2021 and Envy 2021, apples to apples, the Soundwave becomes an even better value. The 2021 was for $1,089.99. Also another thing to note is , I'm sure the 2022 Envy will be up a couple hundred bucks. BUT, even as a Soundwave owner, there's a couple parts Sunday cheaped out on. The Freeze stem and the FSA headset. They have the same exact 2 parts on ALL their bikes. The Battleship and Envy on the other hand, is 100% aftermarket to be fair.

Seems a fair fight but the Soundwave has a huge advantage with the warranties on up to four for main parts and overall better value for your money. I'm a fan of high-end WTP completes but Sunday have this one in the bag, hands down. The only thing the Sunday needs is a drive-side hub guard.

I’ve heard the warranty from Sunday is a joke and many people who have tried to make use of it have not had good experiences but I have not experienced this myself so take that with a grain of salt or teo

@@Stolas1777 You may have gotten wrong information. Sunday has built a rep as the best in customer service after sales. I had them send me a part replacement that wasn't even covered under the warranty. I knew someone that had his Soundwave V2 frame warrantied that he got years ago , with a new V3 frame. Nobody else does that. They 100% warranty all their 4130 heat treated parts.

Sound wave is just be a chill bike for me just to ride around . I am not risking my life into jumping 😅. I’d love watching gray young do tricks

Doug, you should do recommendations and talks about Aftermarket FRAMES for custom builds. For each style the right frames I need a filter for head tube angle 😂

Since you have direct experience between the 2, how would does the Soundwave ride compared to the Envy? I've owned my Soundwave for a year now, but haven't ridden a WTP bike yet.

Hello, can someone explain to me simply what rhd,lhd,cs,fd is? Which one is better?

RHD: Right hand drive - your chain and sprocket are on your right side. LHD: Left hand drive - your chain and sprocket are on your left side. CS: Casette - this hub engages while going backwards, causing you to pedal backwards in turn. FC: Freecoaster - this hub allows you to roll backwards without pedaling, but unlike the casette, there is "slack" before your pedal actually engages when going forward. Which one is "better" is up to you and your riding style. The good news is that you found Dougsterbob, so you're on the right track!

It doesn't hurt to have your drivetrain on the opposite side to which you prefer to grind; grind on the right, set up for LHD.

I’m 6’5 300 pounds can I still ride the soundwave or should I go with a bigger bike like 22 or 24 inch bikes

You could probably ride a 21.5" BMX. If you think you'd be more comfortable on a cruiser or something larger like a 29", maybe test ride some different sizes and brands at a couple of different bike shops? I've seen some really cool SE big wheels getting about recently.

If you want to do this type of bmx 20inch wheels is universal, top tube size is all that matters for comfort, SE’s are cool and all but all of that stuff isn’t even comparable to this

Get you the new Broc Raiford Sunday bike. Its got a longer top tube for tall riders like yourself. Same quality as the Soundwave.

@@LittleBigKid707b The Broc has only the wave down tube, and no 41 thermal heat treatment or life time warranty, but it would be better if anything for taller riders on a complete Sunday

@@firedemon2166 True, but how many people are gonna ride it at the level to even begin to stress the bike? I ride my Soundwave and I'm not even close to riding it to it's full potential and will never. In my opinion , the Broc sig is just as good as the Soundwave. That's the exact bike Broc rides and perfect for taller riders wanting a high end.

Not that they are so confident in their products, they are that confident in that product

As far as complete go nothing really beats the sound wave. The envy is just as good as is the battleship and a couple other high-end we the people bikes. I also own a we the people battleship and it’s just as good as the sound wave but it’s very much a street bike it’s on the heavier side and it’s just a Beefier bike that you can tell was made for the street. The sound wave on the other hand is an overall bike that you can use pretty much anywhere

To build up a totally custom frame with the best parts is somewhere around $2K. So these two bikes are a real good value and no work to put together. The envy has better paint and looks better.

I bought a Sunday primer for 200$ when I first started riding again. 2-3months later there was a sound wave for 650 in my area, I wish I would have bought it for the parts. Because I ended up building a custom bike with odyssey wheels, cranks, forks. It would have saved me money to get that ugly color bike
