    The mechanism looks like a copy of Pro-sim Quaife sequential shifter. As regards the neutral button, I think it's more a nuisance than something you really want to have there. With my shifter I simply use AutoHotkey and all I have to do to quickly engage neutral is to keep downshift pressed for half a second. Easy and practical.

    I’m interested in getting a job at the post office. Could you offer me some time personally to discuss how to go about It? I understand your busy and you don’t owe me or anyone else anything. Any help would be appreciated. In any case I’ve been watching way before the bmx videos and I love the honesty and sincerity of your content. You always make your audience feel like it’s ok to just enjoy life and not worry about what the world is doing. Thanks so much. Of you were willing to talk, any online chat or video platform or even phone would be fine. I have a few personal websites I would be comfortable offering a email from one of those as I can always delete it after we connect before sharing it on KZread becomes a problem. Anyways, thank you so much for continuing to make videos, I’ve always wanted to but I have never found the drive to do so. Even if you could take some time to give me advice on that on a personal level would be amazing. I hope all is well, thanks again! Dorje

    Simagic Q1S Sequential Shifter is a well build unit however you should take care when mounting the base to your rig. I experienced that installing the unit utilizing the supplied screws could damage the circuit control board when installed. My rig is a Next Level GT setup which has flat mounting plates and without adding washers or shims resulted in a damaged shifter circuit board. The company that I purchased my shifter from did allow me to return the unit for a refund.

    i purchased this shifter and my goodness is it pretty bad. the shifter feel is great but the build quality is shocking, mine was squeeking so bad out of the box so i opened the top and seen it wasnt greased nearly enough where it needed to be so i took it apart and greased it up, then half a day later the screw at the bottom of the handle inside fell out and jammed into the mechanism, again i opened it up and put that screw back in but if you put it in tight then the mechanism does not return properly between shifts so its actually designed to be loose but with no thread lock applied it works its way looser and looser until it just falls out and jams up the shifter so after the second time of it falling out i put a bit of thread locker on it and put it in almost all the way but not fully so time will tell if the thread lock will prevent it working its way out. Then just to make things worse the shifter stopped shifting at the correct time, it would shift too early before the clunk of the mechanism so after a full day almost of trying to figure out what is going on i noticed one of the microswitches was not in the best position by a few mm so i had to move it around slightly without breaking the solder and now it shifts exactly when i want it to... i mean this thing is shocking, but thankfully pretty user serviceable, i had it 2 days up to that point, i should have sent it back but i knew i could fix the issues, but my gosh, never again for simagic from me, i tried to post about the issues on the official simagic facebook page just to see if its common or not and should i just exchange it for another and the admins there just refused to put the post up lol should have known better with what we know about this company and their actions online, terrible. i still have the shifter because its now working (3rd day lol) but waiting to see if that screw comes out again and its going back never to have me as a customer again.

  • @DouglasThompson

    The screws on your unit wouldn't allow it to shift if you screwed them too tight?

  • @jinx20001

    @jinx20001

    Жыл бұрын

    @@DouglasThompson there is a screw at the very bottom of the lever that basically keeps the metal lever that engages the metal rotation mechanism and keeps it attached to the handle, if that screw is too tight the metal lever does not move up and down smoothly as it shifts and will kind of bind up so you have to keep that screw loose but without thread lock it slowly works it’s way out, well mine did anyway. I went back and watched your original q1 review and there is a point in which you mention a loose screw inside you noticed, I wonder if that is the same screw, I don’t know because I only have this Q1S version. I mainly noticed the issue because I shift a little to slowly, so I would shift down a gear and keep holding the lever as I return to centre and noticed it wasn’t clicking back to centre ready for the next shift. Either way it’s been a nightmare, as it is now it’s in a really good place, working and shifting nice, but was some work to get it that way. Cheers for the content dude.
