I bought the Occam H20 Eagle last fall. I replaced the brakes with Magura's MT5, changed damper in the fork to FIT4 and.... I love this bike like no other... It's the most capable bike I've ever owned. Perfect climber, very steadily and predictably if I ride down the hill, manoeuvrable enough to explore all trails. For dry and fast tracks I use Rekon + Forekaster, for more difficult trails I use High Roller II + Aggressor. Perfect bike!

I went with the 2021 Occam after seeing your review last year - super impressed with how capable the bike is. It can be setup so its more on the aggressive side or more towards trail depending on what fork / shock / brakes you use. Taken mine to bike parks, hit jumps, drops, chunky enduro, standard mtb trails, all day rides, long climbs. Its really quite impressive and probably deserves way more recognition compared to other bikes / brands. Only thing I would say is to swap the toptube shockbolt for a steel bolt if running an aluminum frame, I had an issue where mine snapped. But other than that this machine is a total blast to ride. Damn fine looking thang too.

If others wonder. For me it was stressful with the sizing at first. I am 6.1 foot tall and have an inseam of 33 inches. Reading online didn’t give me a clear answer until I rode both. I tried both L and XL and I decided to go with L. I could have gone either way but L felt more playful and easier to manage so it felt like the right choice. With XL I sat more upright and the reach difference was noticeable. Maybe XL feels more stable if you go really quick but that is not something that I aim for with the riding I enjoy.

i came here looking for the review and might buy this bike and love that color although i chuckled a little bit when i heard you pronounce the color.. being near a coal region it was a good laugh but your video is good and totally agree with you thoughts of the shimano

I just received my Occam H30! The total cost was 2500€ including DT Swiss XM 1700 wheels (new) and Magura MT5 brakes (new). A question about the seat clamp: there are two white lines on it, do they need to be aligned with the slot in the seat tube or not? It seems like it doesn't actually matter on aluminium frames, but I think it's important on carbon frames.

Last year I was going to buy my first MTB full suspension and watched your video about the 2021 Occam H30. Decided to go for that one because I had my Magura MT7 brakes from my previous EMTB (yeah I wento from electric to muscular...) to put on it. So I got an Orbea Occam H30 and suprisingly it's going to come with che RaceFace rims instead of the Orbea ones. Would you say that I had to get the H20 considering that I didn't pay for the rims and I got that brakes to put on it?

You are definitely leaning more towards the H20 build for sure. Because the supply chain is so wonky right now I've seen many companies spec bikes different than advertised just to get them out the door. Orbea has always upgraded a bike of they have to do that which is a good thing for you!

I've got one of these coming in the next couple weeks, and I'm curious about the 4-piston brake swap. Is there a particular Shimano 4-piston brake caliper that you can switch to while retaining the M6100 lever?

There are a few forum threads that go into greater detail but you can essentially use any shimano 4-piston calipers with the shimano lever. The easiest way is to make sure the caliper has the same fitting as your current caliper. It's not a big deal though if it doesn't. You will just have to get the correct fitting as well

I have the h20 2021 and run a deore 4 piston in the back and an slx up front and both work fine with then levers. Only reason for the different calipers is that's what I could get at the time

All Shimano levers Deore/SLX/XT/XTR and housing are compatible with Shimano Deore/SLX/XT/XTR calipers

It's a large frame

Okay. The pricey carbon rigs are made at the HQ in Spain. Maybe. Carbon, probably comes from China. The affordable frames(those less than $1200), are definitely produced in China, assembled in Portugal.

The Occam is closer to the Trance X line than the standard Trance. Both are awesome bikes but I love the attention to detail with the Occam. The welds are phenomenal and Orbea isn't afraid of packing the grease in.

Love it, I am in the midwest and went with the OIZ H20. Would love it if you could do one of the OIZ!

H30 version has cup and cone bearings -- horrible. Hopefully H20 upgraded to sealed bearings.
