I replaced my Fiat 500c with a Picanto GT Line Turbo three weeks ago. The Picanto wins on every front. It's cheaper to buy, the suspension is way way better, it's about the same in fuel consumption but the Picanto performance is electrifying in comparison and is not defeated by hills like the Fiat. I am very impressed with what Kia have produced. The only thing I am going to change is the tinny sounding horn! OK I do miss the fully folding roof, though I do have a sunshine roof on the Kia.

I have the 2019 model - well worth every penny.

We picked up our new GT-Line S in May this year. It’s cracking little car and is such fun to drive. Handles like a go kart. Without trying you get 50+ mpg easily, more on a run. Plenty of toys for a small car but all easy to use. Go & test drive one, if you liked early 80’s hot hatches you will love the GT-Line

Great video Geoff.. The lure of a new car on PCP is very tempting. Bought a Skoda Fabia on PCP for a few years when my sh1tb0x 2003 A6 Avant was giving me constant grief & needed something reliable for family reasons. Skoda gave me 3K scrappage for it against the Fabia (was worth about 500€ max!) & the monthly payments were around 250€ including tax & service plan. After the 3 years, & due to Covid & thus no longer needing it, we sold it back to Skoda & after paying the balloon payment got 3K cash back so was a win win for us! Was nice to experience the reliability of a new car & the novelty of having something that would start first time & everything worked as it should. don't miss it at all though, life was a little boring with it. back in an 06 E200 Kompressor now! :-)

I love my Picanto! (Here in Australia the GT is the turbo model) I agree with the engine sound comment, around 1800 and 2400rpm it makes some strange metal-sounding noises (the dealership assured me this is normal just build quality from an 18k car), and on cold start-up very tick-tappy. But the overall very underrated car, my friend who owns an s13 loves it and keeps up with my mate WRX in the corners as well! in the straights, not so much lol.

This is the perfect premium little car with sporty elegant looking. Best ever made from KIA.

I bought the last edition (before the badge change) GT-Line S special edition "Bumblebee" (yellow with black alloys and 120bhp instead of the standard 100bhp). The standard has a 0-60mph time of 9.9 seconds, the 120bhp has a 0-60mph time of 7.5 seconds 😁 of course the brakes are uprated to take account of this. Great fun this car, arguably the best I've owned for the price (£13k)

nice review. i like the sound of the 3 cilinder engine. The chinese car market is the biggest market in the world right now. 47% of all the german cars are sold there.

I've just got a KIA Sonic GT Line with extras put on that I wanted, it's a 3 Cylinder Turbo, Does 50 to the gallon and goes like SH.T Of a shovel, Handles great rides well, is comfortable and looks great. I'm sold on KIA and Hyundai cars.

I wonder if you can download other sounds of nature 🤔

Dont forget in 3 years time, to start again, you'll need another big deposit to keep the same monthly payment. PCP deals are basically you buying the cost of depreciation.

Just put a deposit down on a 20 plate with 3000 miles. Less nanny gubbins than this, and a sunroof and a real exhaust tailpipe. And an extra 30bhp on the way home :)

I have just had my non turbo Picanto x line s delivered and after having a Kia Niro it does not feel slow at all, I am very impressed with the car, mine is the amt auto box which I love and so far after filling up to the brim twice has averaged 60.3 mpg and 59.4 mpg

Nice Review Geoff,I hope you Did Not pay £800 for your Volvo Cambelt change,You Could of done it yourself for £150 Surely.

I look at it this way, if I spent the equivalent money on the car I have it would have a full respray, a rebuilt engine and gearbox and I still would have spare change for other bits, the car would probably last me a lot longer than a picanto, have the space to fit my needs, be worth a lot more than a picanto after 3 years and it's carbon footprint would be smaller as it was manufactured over 20 years ago plus my uncle owns a brand new Volvo and he has done less than 5000 miles in it and it has been in for repairs 3 times so far so even a reliable brand like Volvo can produce a brand new vehicle that is no more reliable than a 20 year old model.

Sorry mate u could never be classed as "normal"..but hey whats normal...Kia defo on the up producing some fine looking cars...some folk only want reliable ,everyday transport,that have charm and "loveability"..good mpg and cheep insurance.....may be time to ditch the Barge..lol

Way too much as you can get a VW Polo for that price. I was expecting £13K

The three cylinder engine is rough, powerless and not that economical. The navigation is unnecessarily difficult to use. The AMT gearbox is lifeless. The suspension is a bucket of nails. Keep the Volvo FGsSake.

@@beachcomber1able turbo 1 litre is not the same as NA 1 litre, look at motorsport regulations in the 1980s through 1990s - why do they have to keep rules for turbo cars separate to NA cars (example, the 2.6 litre RB26DETT (of the Gr A Skyline GT-R) was seen as the equivalent of a 4 litre NA engine). Also, Honda could manage 240 bhp from their S2000 engine 24 years ago (a record until Ferrari broke it 11 years later) and Porsche has with 525 bhp from their 4 litre 911 GT3 RS and both without a turbocharger

Must be how you drive because I have the 3 cylinder amt (auto) and last fill up to the brim averaged 60.3 mpg, and for that size engine is not slow
