I was expecting another boring Ridgeline review but you Sir are an excellent speaker it really annoys me when I'm looking at a brand new Honda Ridgeline review and the car is all water spotted any dirty and the touch screen is dusty and covered with greasy fingerprints everywhere that was hands down the cleanest Honda Ridgeline review I ever saw kudos to the person who prepped that truck if you're looking for a dirty truck all covered in mud get yourself a Tacoma but if you wanna tailgate at the game with your buddies you can't beat a Ridgeline

It’s worth mentioning, only the Ridgeline comes standard with a native class III towing kit with 7-pin connector on all trim levels, capable of 5k lbs towing at time of purchase. Most midsized-pickups are max 2k lbs tow from bumper; without a trim upgrade that includes a towing kit and or an accessories upgrade from the dealership.

@@pm270x I think if you are looking to tow on a regular basis you don't buy a Ridgeline. I only tow a utility trailer 2k lbs max so there is no problem for me re: Ridgeline. I think as a principal the towing will do better on a body on frame vehicle

@@gamatoutsikos I own the 2020 Ridgeline RTL-E and rarely need to tow. We had a death in the family last year and I had to move out a woodworking shop. I used an U-Hall 6x12 Utility Trailer Rental with Ramp (2,290 lbs empty). I loaded it down with two ShopSmith lathes, an Atlas metal lathe, Delta bandsaw, scroll saw, too many metal accessories, and etc… I’m assuming the trailer probably got very close to 6k lbs. I delivered these items nearby (30 minutes away), here in the southern Appalachians, so not without reasonable hills. I used Sport Shift Mode to use the paddle-shifters as a manual transaxle. The move was miserable as the outer bans of Hurricane Ida passed through. Weight distribution wasn’t used. The Ridgeline wasn’t light at the front and braked well. The acceleration from stops signs and traffic signals was good enough to merge into traffic. So far, I can’t complain about my 1st towing experience with the Ridgeline RTL-E with the 9-speed.

Buyer Beware with Holmes Honda!!! Enquired about this exact truck one day before this video was posted, website lists price as MSRP $45,940… took asking the online agent multiple times before disclosing the actual sales price is $55,900!!! Yes, they are adding a $10,000 markup!!! Plus, an additional $2,500 out of market adjustment if the buyer is more than 2 hours of the dealership!🤣🤣🤣 Makes my local dealer’s added $2,000 in installed options look like a bargain!!!

I own a 2014 Ridgeline Special Edition with a full size spare tire. This new model can not fit a full size tire in the trunk. So this new Ridgeline is a local commuter, and not designed for long trips. So I still have my 2014 with 45,000 miles on it. No reason to trade it in when they downgraded the vehicle. Every model of the first gen has AWD. They downgraded it. A ECU flash will give the first gen 20hp more like the new models since its the same engine. I also hate the center console shifter in the new model. I like my column shifter in the first gen, it takes up less room. I have more space.

AWD is standard on all trim levels for 2022. I agree that a full-sized spare-tire is needed, and required by state and federal law when towing. I wish a Honda Element spare-tire mount was used at the swing-gate, so that in-bed payload didn’t block access to the spare-tire. A trailer brake gain controller is also required by state law in many states when towing over 3,500 lbs in snowy or mountainous areas. Ridgeline requires an aftermarket trailer gain controller. The 9-speed transaxle vastly outperforms the older 5-speed and 6-speed. The iVTM4-AWD also outperforms the older full-time 4WD. The 9-speed is better for handling heavier payload, manages towing better, and grade shifting. Paddle-shifting is much better than the old Overdrive Button; in either shift-on-the-fly and or Sport-Shift mode. The dated SOHC 3.5L engine needs a DOHC upgrade to broaden the power-band and be more competitive against the (3.6L DOHC Pentastar 305 HP and 270 lb.-ft. of torque), (Nissan DOHC 3.8-L V-6 engine with 310 HP and 281 lb-ft of torque), and (EcoBoost 2.3-L DOHC I4 270 HP and 310 lb.-ft torque). I agree the electronic transaxle buttons are poorly positioned, where it’s easy to spill into when next to cup holders. I also don’t like the forward/back cup holders and prefer the left/right cup holders. The forward/back cup holders also block access to the cellphone charging pad and USB ports. The rear doors need dual cup holders to match the Passport and Pilot. My three kids are one cup holder short in the back seat.

So is a Silverado just a Tahoe with a bed? Considering the Tahoe rides like a truck, I'd say yes. If the Ridgeline does everything that you need a truck to do, the fact that it drives and rides like a Pilot is not a bad thing.
