Love the fact that there is any coverage of this event at all, but the camera angles are terrible. Am sure there are all sorts of technical obstacles to this, but it would be great if there were much more wide angle coverage of multiple boats so the viewer can see how they're doing relative to each other. Cut out the single boat shots. And cut out the coverage of the crowds mid race, Please.

I agree totally. It is hard to get a feel for the overall boat positions on the course compared with the brilliant Americas Cup coverage. A New Zealand firm provides the Americas Cup graphics and they got into a dispute with Coutts, the Sail GP CEO. So unfortunately we are given an inferior product.

Yes my thoughts exactly especially that last race too much time spent on a close up of the Kiwi boat all at the end all on its own. Yes a close up as every boat as they cross the line but not enough of a wider view of the course during the race and if your country is one of the last three or four boats not much to see, only the left hand side graphic. If they can’t achieve that maybe an overhead graphic showing every boats position on the coarse would be good. A change of commentators would be good too, where not watching a WWF fight.

I suspect the close up filming is due to advertising contracts - particularly at the finish. The coverage is definitely improving and when they get the drone feed live it'll be spectacular and much more eco friendly than helicopters.

Jimmy doing the starts better here, but then Hans dumps the foils on every maneuver... Spithill's starts are classic monohull boat positioning but the Kiwis and Canadians are doing a sort of "Leeroy Jenkins" prestart; getting up a speed run from behind the pack so they hit the line going supersonic, twice as fast as Spithill... That's very very tricky to do without going over the line early, but they're doing it. Jimmy will have to "throw an elbow" to disrupt that strategy, without fouling. Is it too late to replace Hans? We're just not seeing steady improvement on the foiling controls and coordination during the tacks.

All the complaints and criticisms about camera angles and commentary/coverage here is a joke. These boats are sailing so fast that trying to do what the keyboard warriors are requesting is near impossible, whatever it is they want? Putting multiple cameras out on course and bumping between them would be impossible. The camera coverage and commentary is great. Think of how sailing races have been covered before this in any class? Hardly award winning. There was a feature on drone approaches and I imagine this will fuse into it more somehow. So many people/armchair experts are so hard to please these days.
