truthfully the only reason I did not is because the MUX switch makes it a hassle to use davinci if not on ULTIMATE mode. You have to dig into some windows settings and choose the dGPU because davinci won't run on the igpu for some reason. Once you get over those hurdles it runs smoothly when connected to power.

Also the AMD presentation noted first laptops ship in march (probably the G14) but won't become broadly available until mid summer.

the fact that the 2023 are shaping up to be almost double the price fuck that. The 6700s and 6800s models are excellent when on a sale.

I spent somethin like 1050 or so at the best buy from my area when I bought mine a month or so ago this laptop is pretty solid.

Also cause it has a navi23 based gpu you can straight up turn this into one of the best hackintosh machines put there especially in the laptop space

Is this good for simulation and designing I am into engineering and i need a laptop in a few months I have programming , electronic system design and simulation and 1080p high setting gaming as well Mostly 3-4 year old games like forza horizon 5 , NFS and gta 5 I am looking for ryzen 7 6800hs with rx 6700s which is approxly 1520 us dollars ( as my country has high import taxes ) i dont think i can get it more cheaper than that Should i consider that as a future proof device that would serve me well like 5-6 years

Well, im going for the previous 2021 model with Rtx 3050 ti + Ryzen 5800HS in 2023. so for me its worth! Great price, good for light gaming + portability and a bit of work. Upgradable ram + ssd. Its was great deal for me! better than "thinkpad" without a GPU. that i almost bought.. hopefully i found that zephyrus in a store. 2022 is too expensive for my needs.. and the battery life on 2021 + 3050 ti for light gaming is was the best choice! even at 2023 for me. since my desktop is 2016 i7+gtx 1070 gaming machine. still enough for my needs, so i would assume that my choice ok.

What games do u play?

I live in Thailand and the 2022 G14 (this model) costs about $2184 dollars. Can't wait to get shafted by the newer models which can cost 3 times as much. Yippee.

Mini led at 14" not a game changer The display on the 6700s or 6800s is excellent! It actually looks better than the msi 67hx oled Its more detailed and there is no circular morae pattern. And this display is brighter and zero glare

Wow the 2022 model is still expensive af in europe (here it starts from 1400€). hope they will reduce the price as they announced the newer 2023 model

Do a comparison of this g14 vs the 2023 tuff ryzen 7 7735HS radeon rx7600S

I am a user of g14 from a month , but why my softwares crashes (priemere pro and some editing software )sometimes and also i get blue screen windows error sometimes , can you suggest me some solutions to this ?

the answer is simple really, do you want to game at all? then a mac is a hard no. On the other hand do you want a machine that can video/photo edit on battery while plugged in? then the g14 is a no. All windows laptops can match or overpower macs when plugged in when doing productivity tasks but really get crippled when on battery. Then Macs are the ultimate productivity machines but honestly are all work an no fun in regards to gaming

Can you share more about how warzone 2.0 handles on this? Does it hit 120fps? Also compared to a laptop like a legion with a 3070, 3070ti, or 3080 what do you think would be better?

this can comfortably hit 120 if you lower settings on Warzone 2 so it just depends on how much performance/quality you want. Depends what legion you get because the legion 7 pushes 170W to its gpu's while the g14 hits about 120W in turbo. So the legion will be better for performance but is much bulkier.

Hi steven, im currently on RazerBlade advanced with 3060, been looking at this laptop. My use case is gaming laptop as well as a workstation for work. What i hate about the razer is that the palm rests is quite hot even if i lower the performance using synapse. Does the G14's palmrest get hot too?

This laptop definitely gets hot but due to the fact the body isn't aluminium it doesn't get nearly as sweaty as a blade does

@@chadwicoff6378 The issue with open box purchases is return if there are any problems. An open box cannot be exchanged out easily and exchanged item which will also be an open box might have issues. Open box may not be available at that store in which case you need to return for full refund. For new purchases even exchange is possible with no issues but not for open box. Edit: I tried to save money by buying open box but I had bad experience on two open box purchases. Very less people buy and return for fun while majority return when there are issues. And bestbuy is shit at repairing things. First one I purchased a certified rog flow x16 and it looked brand new clean but it randomly rebooted due to some bios issues or motherboard. Had to return it. Second I purchased an open box G14 when the open box were on great sale 2 weeks ago for $860(excellent condition) and the battery capacity was 10000 mAh degraded but laptop looked brand new and clean. So most people return when there is some issue and you can’t find it out until you do a through hardware inspection within 15 days. If you are totaltech then you have more days to see if you are lucky to have got a unit which is gift return or buyers remorse or change of mind etc.

Hey man I got one 8 months ago and I got 8hrs but in the last few months its gotten less than 3 hrs and I suspect its the BIOS update. I just got it back from repairs cause I dropped it and dented the lid and I had a 14% wear on battery but now its fixed and battery replaced with 5% wear. I want to do a clean format now. Do I just make a windows USB boot drive and grab all the drivers from asus website?

Well I casually play games but i need a laptop for school too, so you guys think that this beast is silent enough for school? Now I have an old ASUS Tuf gaming with a 1050Ti and its way too big 17’ and it’s getting way too loud. Do you think its a good buy for school too?

Yes, specially because it has a mux switch, allowing you to turn off the GPU, allowing the laptop to use the fans less and improving battery

i personally use it in a school environment utilizing the MUX switch to use igpu only. Then silent mode and battery saver on windows gives me a very quiet machine with about 10 hours of batter life with light tasks

I bought my G14 on sale at bestbuy for $1,100.00. I noticed the ssd ran around the 3500mbs and bought a 2 TB WD850x. I get 6950mbs read speeds now. I also put a 32gig ram chip in the only slot available. These upgrades made a visual difference in speed. It's been a couple of weeks and I love this laptop. Oh, by the way my 2015 Macbook Pro runs hotter than this computer. Fans are not that loud. I will be selling my apple hardware, Windows and PC's are just better because there are more developers and real innovation. Apple is just the same old thing year after year with high pricing.

@@I_am_Borissss I went to crucial website and used there auto detect to get compatible ram. Since then I discovered this will run slightly slower than one 16gig stick. If your not doing heavy photoshop or video editing just get the 16gig stick.

@@tvandever2010 I'll be buying the 16gb ram 6900HS+6800S version g14. It says 8+8, but asus tells it's only upgradeable to 40gb max. So, If I will be buying a 32gb stick, will it become 32+8+8 = 48gb ram (I'm not sure if this will work) or will it be 40+8gb (not sure of this too). Or am I better off buying a 16gb ram stick?

1. But there's no Nvidia GPU in the older model, which is a must for video editing 2. You don't need to get the 4090. Heard there will be 4070 option too

looking out for open box sales at best buy. You can get one for 700-900 depending on the condition. Other than that, the best price I have seen this go for is 1099 at best buy.

Get it open box right below the highest option if possible it’s solid has a two week guarantee so beat it when you get it with games and such to see if it can keep up

I would say, if soomeone earns 50k$ per month, then 4090 makes complete sense. Otherwise, if someone earns less, then this is worth it.

I was looking for a replacement for 2070 msi gaming laptop but I was looking for a portable laptop with good battery, I was thinking about the 6800s with 40gb ram and 1tb SSD but it was 1800 after taxes, so I went for the 6700s with 40gb ram and 2tb SSD for 1400 after taxes

prices have been leaked that the 4090 g14 will be above 3k from what i have seen. So it all depends on how much you want to pay for performance. I am really happy with the 6700s and pretty much payed 1k plus taxes for it.

Mine is fast af, but motherboard died after 6m and ssd died 6m after that. They cut corners on these things but they are fast. New 980 ssd is way faster. Almost double.

No clue on that but i got mine strictly for premier pro. I do not game at all. Pretty windows and android focused for myself

@@StevenMakesVids considering if you edit photos you have to subscribe to the creative cloud anyway for photoshop. I say why pay more for adding final cut 10. Most Apple users I know have the creative cloud for lightroom and photoshop and buy editing separately. You get far more updates and features then others, hard to touch adobe in terms of comparison

Still only a basic 3060 equivalent.

The $3000 models are the ones with the 4080 and 4090, but there is a model with a 4060 and that’s only $400 more. The main issue I have heard with this laptop are it’s thermals as with all AMD chips it gets hot and loud. I am more concerned about the thermals of the 2023 model

Take at least $700 to $800 off the 4090 version on sale. $600 to $700 on the 4080. 4070 4060 $500 to $600 off on sale 4050 don't even bother! A dumb configuration...

Nvidia 4000 series GPUs suck... Absolute scam!!!
