What’s up guys! This is the recently redesigned Ford F150 Lariat with 400HP 3.5 V6 Twin Turbo Ecoboost baby! It packs quite a punch as you’ll see in this full walk around and driving review. Of course there is also a 0-60 with GPS!

In 1983 I bought myself a 1982 F150. It was a 2 tone medium brown metallic over tan metallic. Yes it had brown and beige cloth interior. It was a regular cab and an 8 foot bed. The engine was a 4.9L In-line 6cyl with a C6 (3spd) automatic transmission and 3.55 gears in the posi rear end . I needed the in-line 6cyl for the Low end torque. I put 3/4 ton leaf springs in the rear as I hauled equipment to our oil wells. I pounded miles on the pickup, yet I didn’t abuse it and changed the oil every 2,500-3K miles with conventional Valvoline oil. I also had the transmission, rear end serviced every 30K miles. Even though it was a 3spd transmission carburetor, it still got 2mpg better than a friend of mine who bought a F150 new in 1992. His was the same power train but he had a 4spd automatic transmission and fuel injection. I got 21mpg on the freeway but he only got 18-19mpg. I suppose he got less fuel economy bc his truck had more emission controls. I drove the truck until 1995 and it had 243K miles on it. It was still running strong and never used any oil. The only reason why I sold it was because I needed a 4X4. It was a Great pickup. The people who I sold it to drove it for another 10 years. The new 3.5 twin turbo V6 in the F150 seems to have problems with the turbo’s wearing out prematurely but only on a few model years. If you want to buy a Reliable full size pickup, buy the new Toyota Tundra. I noticed that the Ford you’re reviewing has the same 33 year old gloomy grey interior which became popular in 1990.

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 A neighbor of ours bought a Tundra new in 22. It’s a double cab TRD. He gets 18-19 mpg over Snowqualmie Pass, which has many steep grades. The had a 3/4 ton Dodge diesel 4X4 with low mileage but it was ALWAYS in the shop for repairs. They’re completely satisfied with their new Tundra.

similar story here- my grandpa had a 83 he put 400k on, also with 3/4 ton springs, but he put a lower gear ratio in it, he could hit 27 mpg highway- in 93 I bought one, he talked me into the 300 I6 also, possibly THE most durable motor ever produced...mine got 18 mpg...flooring it/nursing it, 18 mpg like a clock...he saw mine, sold his old one and bought a 93 too, and he was kinda pissed at the mpg...18. He passed in 95 but I still saw that old 83 around town for another ten years. had my 93 till 2005, but it had rusted so bad, gave it away...ran like a top, you couldnt hurt those 300s... shame for went so conservative on the tunes, no reason that truck shouldnt have gotten more mpg than the old one, other than ford tends to tune rich to keep engine cooler... now have a 19 and a 22 , both 3.5 lariats, and I hate how much I love that stupid 3.5 v6... the darn thing runs stronger than my old 11:1 429 4 barrel, and the 19 even sounds like it...fake v8 engine noise is subtle, but with active noise cancellation, it sounds/fee;s exactly like a quiet old bigblock- except stronger.. optedfor 3.5 lariat again on the 22, and thsat was a mistake...for some reason, ford muted the sund profile, and the 22 sounds like a windstar...fake or not, the effect is awesome in the 19, the 22, meh- even though it has more power... also, the 22 burning 93 on a fairly cool65 degree night doing 65 hit 26.5 mpg on one 500 mile stretch of I80... fillup said 817 miles to empty!!!. the new ones are some of the nicest 'cars' on the road, and are very capable trucks except for the short bed- and my God do these things move. my son drove my 19, decided to get one too, he test drove the 5.0 and said it felt weak unless you were near redline...the 3.5 is near 500 ftlb at 2500 rpm...sounds like a old washing machine, very loose fitted probably to take the 20 psi of boost, cam phasers are a 4000.00 job and all the 3.5s are still having issues...but man is it an addictive powerplant, especially in the 19. son traded in his 19 lease and bought a 22 bronco 2.7 lux pkg, and it has similar sound profile to the 19 f150...really pisses me off ford changed the sound in the truck, not the bronco...little thing, but drive them both- the old one is more fun, unless you dont care if it sounds like a windstar....

@@timc2219 My current and last pickup I’ll ever own is a 2011 Ranger XLT super cab, 4X4 with the 4.0L V6 and a 5spd auto transmission. I was in need of a smaller pickup to do work around our property. I bought it used from the original owner in 19. It had only 20K miles on it when I bought it 4 years ago. It’s Silver (I hate silver, grey, and black), so I had it 2 toned with Torador Red metallic (a popular red on the 90s Mustang) on the lower section of the truck. I had a K&N intake and a 3”FlowMaster exhaust system, tuned exhaust manifold’s, air shocks on the rear (as I haul a lot of gravel, dirt, etc). I also installed running boards, skid plates, custom 2 tone interior (red and black), custom wheels and pinstripes. I was getting 19mpg before the intake and exhaust and now I consistently get 23mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph. The truck has 3.55 gears in the rear and a tow pkg. It’s 12 years old now and I have only 35K miles. After the mods I raced a Tahoe (5.3 V8). We couldn’t pass each other until his governor kicked in at 105mph. It was then that my Ranger left him. I also raced another Chevy pickup and blew his doors off 😂. I change the oil every 4K miles with Mobile 1 full synthetic and change the front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission fluid every 30K miles, (as I do on all my vehicles). We get 5-6 feet of snow every winter so I run Cooper Discoverer A/Ts year around. During the winter months, I put 300# of sand bags over the rear axle for traction. I’m in my late 50s, so I know that my Ranger will be my last truck. The Ford has the highest mileage of all 3 of our vehicles. My wife’s 19 Outback has 22K miles and my 19 Forester has less than 6K miles. ( I was able to retire early at 43 years old so I simply don’t need to drive much anymore. I’m glad you’re a Ford fan too. I’m fairly sure that my Forester Touring will be the last car I’ll ever need. My wife is just 50 and continues to work, so we’ll probably have to replace her Outback before she dies. Enjoy your day!

I just checked the website, it’s listed for 60k which I’m assuming is close to what a new one spec’d would also cost on the Ford website. 😬 Thanks for watching!

In the neighborhood of 5,000. Taking it to a scale would be the only way to know for sure, heck a full vs. empty 26 gallon gas tank is 156 pound difference.
