Every time one of these broncos sells for above MSRP at a ford dealership for the next 5 years, you can hear the folks over at Chevy yelling at the guy who approved the newer blazer for production a little louder. It's fantastic that they didn't drain this car label of every ounce of it's soul. Hell, even the bronco sport has allot of character. They couldn't have done it better, for the average person and of course their sales.

The subject of Mark and Jack being harsh on Ford should be a no issue. We know what Ford can do when they put the time and money into their products. Mustang 350R, Ford GT, Ford Focus RS, Ford Fiesta ST, F-Series to name a few. So when all of a sudden they create an inferior product it can be disappointing and no excuses should be given.

I love Ford but they drop the ball pretty consistently. Case in point they stuck the 2v and 3v modular motors in everything when they all underperformed compared to both the 4v motors and the pushrod competition from GM and Chrysler. My wife and I love our 4 door Badlands sasquatch Bronco for many of the reasons you mention in the video. We have the 2.7 10 speed and it's a total treat to drive, it's pretty dang quick but thirsty if you don't have it in eco mode, can't wait to add sport mode and see how much fun that adds. The aftermarket support is exploding and this year SEMA was all about Bronco and the new products flooding the market every single day, lots of catching up to do, but the groundwork had already been laid for the Jeep market. Wireless AA/AC, adaptive cruise, auto wipers and auto headlights work flawless. Being able to start, unlock, check oil life, tire pressure and vehicle location at any time through the app is also slick, like all new Ford products. You mention safety but didn't tack on why, Jeep has never had curtain side airbags and Ford did it out of the box, adding to the safety aspect of the vehicle. My only grip, which is small, is no seat memory or cooled seats on our LUX package, but oh well, it's something we can live without. We pre-ordered on launch day, had our Bronco built early Sept and took delivery late Sept and have over 800 thrilling miles on it. We get questions and conversations everywhere we go, it's so much fun.

Driving impressions about the 4 cyl turbo: have had a 4 cyl turbo in a car for about 20 years now and it hits peak torque around 1800-2000 rpm and rev's out to 7200, but I spend 99% of the time around 1800-3000 rpm, just get up to a high gear around 35-40mph, and leave it there, plenty of torque, tows well. A slightly larger, similarly tuned engine for most vehicles is perfect. We are seeing these smaller turbo motors that make gobs of torque down low in many vehicles now and they are beautiful to drive.

But the front end on the road didn't even feel connected to the steering wheel. I honestly thought there was a problem, but a quick look underneath showed it was fine. It only had 2000 miles on it. As far as the question of reliability, it should be noted that the 2.3L and 2.7L are generally proven engines that have done many billions of miles in millions of F150's, Rangers, and Mustangs since their introductions more than five years ago. Same for the 10 speed automatic. Been around for a semi-long time. You really ought to be ok on the powertrains with these things, unless the transfer cases and axles reveal some problems.

A truly great review with more info on details than others. And thanks for not speedtalking. Love the Cactus Gray color in your model if that’s what it is. Aside from the understandable eyewatering gas mileage, this vehicle has so much going for it. The styling and character are off the chart. Although I'm not currently in the market for an off road vehicle like the Bronco I've closely followed the introduction and launch. Must say I'm amazed by the amount of research and development that has gone into the design of the vehicle and the plethora of models and available accessories. The team heading up the development mush be huge and they spared no time or cost to make it a success. The commitment by Ford management to do it right is appreciated. The Bronco is a hit right out of the box, and has enough variations to please any imaginably customer.

Speaking of mark ups.. I inquired about the Bronco Raptor and was told that it'll sell between $12-$15,000 more than my WildTrak @$64K. Then there WILL be a dealer mark up of $15,000 on top of that. I rented a Big Bend, non-Sasquatch, 4-door 2.3L auto on Turo earlier this summer. VERY impressed with the drivetrain and comfort, not to mention the looks of this truck are amazing 👌🏼 I got stopped by a guy for pictures and was one of the first ones on the road with one in my area and it got lots of looks. I will say, the caveat to the "low" starting price of 39k is that there were some quality issues I noticed right away (The odemeter showed less than 4k miles) The hood & the front quarter panels seemed very thin & flimsy. The hood wouldn't close unless you_really_ slammed on it hard. Rock chips galore and already a dent on the hood!. Told the owner right away. Next, the softtop was a breeze to take down, even with just one person! However, it swayed side-to-side so much that it scratched the paint on the rear rollover bars. One last thing, 2 of the 9 plastic latch clips for the rear soft-top windows came completely un-sewn, and another was hanging by a thread! I would caution people buying the Bronco for quality of materials & fit & finish. It doesn't have it. Other than that, it's an excellent driving vehicle, and top-down driving with your family & friends is so cool. The 2.3L felt great, fuel economy was great, and I can't imagine how insane the 2.7L must be. Thanks for the great review Jack, you too Mark. You guys are da bes!! 👍🏼👍🏼

I am a Wrangler owner. I finally drove the Bronco. It is a fantastic car and I am so happy Ford swung for the fences and did it correctly. That being said, it didn't really feel like a Wrangler competitor to me when I drove it. More like a different class of off roader where you can also remove the top and doors. I felt it was HUGE compared to the Wrangler. Parking lots felt like I was driving a full size truck. Not sure how that will feel on the trail. I also thought the Ford interior felt so much cheaper and thrown together with screens glued in to compensate. Lastly I preferred the V6 manual combo to the turbo 4 manual but I did enjoy the low end torque of the Bronco. I wish Chevy would have done the blazer correctly seeing this product from Ford. And I would DEFINITELY think about buying a Bronco as a buyer but I really think it is a disservice to say this and the Wrangler are toe to toe against each other when really it feels to me we're talking different weight classes. Just my 2¢.

I still needed up buying a JL Wrangler though because I negotiated 10% off MSRP and another $8K in tax rebates as I bought the PHEV 4xe Wrangler Rubicon. 375hp and 475tq and we have averaged 38mpg since buying it in June. So far we have been very impressed. It’s too bad Ford did not offer a n EV or PHEV version of the Bronco, but perhaps in the future.
