Join YachtWorld and Marilyn DeMartini along with Captain Sean Hickey from Everglades in Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach Florida, for a full walkthrough video review and quick sea trial of a 2022 Everglades 455 CC center console sportfishing boat. The 455CC has a 45’ hull with a tall tower and broad 13’3” beam, giving her a big and brawny base, but smooth handling belies her size. She is outfitted for fishing but accommodating for family cruising and easily takes on waves with no banging or crashing. Solid, closed-molded proprietary RAMPCAP® construction and deep-Vee, variable deadrise hull enables a peppy course, cutting through the waves as the pilot throws down her throttles to test her mettle. The yacht performs like a sportboat, yet is outfitted with many yacht-like touches - from the Release teak cockpit and helm seats to premium upholstered bow sunlounges and the cabin’s private head with enclosed shower. True to her fishing DNA, the boat also has over 45 rod holders, two live wells, multiple insulated fish boxes-including two on the aft deck-a first for Everglades. The company previously put its fish boxes forward, but for this boat, created new tooling and molds to fit the boxes into the foam core of the aft portion of the boat, providing integral insulation. I know the Everglades had it's relations back to the ! legendary Boston Whaler, and that these are custom vessels, not production craft. I sold power and sail for decades and am overwhelmed by the boats put out by Everglades. There is a lot of critical thinking about what to put into their boats and for what will work and not just be a bunch dazzle fluff. Everything looks especially strong as it seems that they make a lot of their features themselves. Now remember... Saltwater is Saltwater and if these boats are gonna be fished super hard, a good quality and less expensive sacrificial boat maybe an angle to think about. Then again, I'm going to have to say it, IF I ever came into the kinda money that reeks of a super lottery win, I don't think I could stop myself from making my first phone call to Everglades Boats. I mean, MY GOD JUST LOOK AT THIS VESSEL!!!!

Having owned salt water use fishing boats years ago, before everything was electric, we had a hard time after a few years, keeping a bilge pump working from one season to the next. What on planet earth are these new boats going to look like and work like in 5 years of saltwater use? Anyone? On a 5 year old Bertram or Viking the air con's work less often than they didn't. Stereo worked one day and not the next. Chill plates seemed to be a 1, maybe 2 year item. Generator?..................after 3 years you may as well forget you "had" a generator. And this list goes on..........My guess is 2 years in, that raise up and down tackle station is stuck down and won't raise up. Salt water is salt water, no way around it.

Hi. Tech has moved on since then and I wouldn't expect as many problems as you're talking about. Keep her serviced and on top of everything and you've years of fishing and fun ahead of you. Also, someone spending $1.5-€2M on a fishing boat will generally not think twice about having equipment replaced if there are repetitive issues. All the best
