Is the Ducati Desert X the best looking mid-weight adventure bike in the market? Or does the Norden 901 or Tiger 900 take that crown?

Nice review. My 2020 Africa Twin is 226kg WET, whilst the Desert X is 223kg WET. So not a bifg difference. I was actually expecting the Desert X to be a touch lighter.

I would buy a desert sled Scrambler over this because of the minimalistic approach and better color scheme. I'm trying to find out the differences right now. Looks like price weight and Power

Great video and review! I like the concept version better but this is not bad. I would consider it but the high seat is an issue for me. I do not know how much lower the bike will go with the lower seat. Second, I looked up the wheelbase and rake on this bike and I thought it might have a shorter wheelbase and rake on this bike, particularly in comparison to similar bikes in it's class. I am curious if you would chose this bike over the Norden or Triumph 900 class bikes? Thanks

The Norden and this bike are going for the same person in my mind. Design focused Gen X / Millenials who might take go on an "adventure" once every-few years. I still think the KTM and BMW buyers are more hardcore than them. The Triumph 900 is more of a styling exercise than an off-road capable bike. The Tiger 900 is a closer competitor than that.

I'm pretty sure I could get a T7 raid and fully trick it out for the base price of a Desert X. €18k is a bit too much.

100% - you could build out a Tenere 700 for a fraction of the cost but people pay the pretty penny for the Ducati name and sound.

@@BurtoniMotors this bike has a lot of advanced features that you could not put on a t7 easily or affordably. It will have much better suspension than a t7 too. I think it’s a winner.

Even though I am a big Ducati fan, but they are taking piss with the price tag. 18.5k where I live, that's a joke. I'll stick with Tuareg 660 for 6k less.

Where do you live? And absolutely, it's expensive. Even in the USA it's more than $2,000 more than the BMW GS850 Adventure and almost $3,000 less than the Norden 901.

@@BurtoniMotors I live in the Netherlands. I'd go for Tuareg 660 which is a lotta bike for 13k. I was hoping Ducati would come up with an affordable bike around 13-14k. Who needs M50 brakes on a dirt bike? That I cannot understand. They should've put desert sled's air-cooled engine on it.
