Great video! This job can be done manually...no computer necessary. If you have basic mechanical skills and correct garage tools...YOU can do this. Search other videos for the manual method.

Let me know how you find Launch compare to Autel. I have Launch it pretty good but I'm interested in how you find it being it new too to you

Good job their Jimmy, the benefits of having the latest tech. Ahh i miss the old days of just using a massive pair of pipe grips to compress the caliper 😂.

Rear brakes are doing a lot more work these days with various electronic driver aids etc. and so wear quicker. Thanks for the video.

Rear pads at 20k?!

BMW probably engineered it this way to get $$$$ before most people return their leases. I believe 60%+ lease the 3 series, and they want $500+ for this service. HIGHLY likely to drive more money to service departments. Dealing with 2 2020 330is both needing brakes before 30k

Just had a quote from my local bmw dealer for the full set of pads,£550😂 it’s a 320i G20 and I can get a full set of pads for £100, my back side aches from just a thought I will let them have me off. I’m mechanically skilled enough to manage replace the pads myself just not sure about the computer reset etc. would the eBay LAUNCH CRP123X Car OBD2 Scanner Code Reader Check Engine ABS SRS Diagnostic Tool do the job? Thanks for your help in advance

Most powerful RWD cars need rear pads at 20/25k miles. I did 150k miles in a 2011 Jaguar XJL and the average was 22k miles for OE ATE rear pads, got 30k out of Pagid pads. Did 130k miles in my 2016 S350d and the rears lasted 25/30k, the best lifespan was again from Pagid pads. It’s because Cruise Control, Speed Limiter and Traction Control all use the rear brakes.

Pagid are alright, i use them on some of my vehicles. Eicher is a brand i would never use as i consider them dog shite, they are Euro car parts own brand. They are terrible, their discs warp and the pads have 80% less brake compound in the pad compared to Pagid from what Euro car parts sales rep told when i returned some Eicher pads. 😂, made in India and sometimes i wonder if their brake discs are even heat treated, seen a load of cars with warped eicher discs all the time.

Crazy how unnecessarily difficult this service is! 99.5% of us won't have sophisticated service computers to set it into workshop mode This is done by design no question about it

Computer is not necessary, it is just a handy tool method...you can do this manually without it. When he retracts the motor, you can actually do that part manually with a quick removal of two extra bolts and twisting the drive system. Search other videos.
