Even though my phone kept dying, I hope you can enjoy the moments I was able to catch: rehearsal footage, our kids having fun with each other, and some TikToks thrown in for fun!
We are still pinching ourselves that this WGI season even happened. What a great year for Team Avon!

This group was crazy, off the charts, amazingly, ridiculously good... I have NEVER heard sounds like this from a high school group. I saw them perform at Avon for IPA State finals. Non stop goosebumps. I can't even put into words how excellent these players are and how emotional I get listening to this ensemble perform. This sets a new standard that surely won't be broken anytime soon, if at all. Well done... Thank you to all of the Avon staff who made this possible. You all are excellent.
I can't even imagine all the competitions we've been through since the Marching Mustangs of Downers Grove South High School. Some of Shea's expressions are priceless. Congratulations doesn't seem enough!!

I can’t imagine what my life would’ve been like if you hadn’t dragged us around to all of those competitions and drum corps shows!!
This video absolutely blew my mind. I was performing in Dayton as well as a mello for Bellevue West High School (3rd place in scholastic a). I think the most vivid memory of Dayton I have was the moment when we were lining up for retreat and I saw the Avon members just chilling on the pavement after having just given the best performance in the history of WGI winds. It blew my mind that these were actual people just like me. This video has done everything to help me realize this more. I don’t know these people but it feels like I do. They are band kids just like me and everyone else in our group. This video also did a great job at capturing the moment when avons score was announced. I did not know what their exact score until I checked the recap because everyone in the arena (including me) absolutely exploded after the 99 was announced. Dayton Ohio was one of the best experiences of my life and this video makes it very clear that it was for these kids as well. This video showed me that the marching band experience is the same whether you get third in scholastic a or get the highest score of WGI as the best group in the world. That is why I love band so much.

Susie that last scene with Shaylnn is priceless! Ruby has said she definitely wants to join indoor next year and I hope she has as magical of memories as this video had! I couldn’t be more proud to be an Avon parent and Alum! Awesome awesome job Avon Winter Winds!

We would love to have Ruby in indoor. And even though it makes us feel old, we love having kids of kids in band!!

so glad to have aged out with this show! Especially with the mellophones! Love you guys forever.
I wish my school did this, im from LaPorte we only have marching band or winter guard
It’s so funny that I know every one of these people because every band character is in every band.

My question is how do you guys handle this and concert band? Do you participate in concert contests or just do school concerts?

Our students participate in ISSMA state concert band contest. Many of them are also in Symphony orchestra. Our wind symphony placed 5th in the state this spring, and our orchestra won the state championship. We also have 4 additional concert bands that do contests and community concerts. We are busy over here! :P
