Great walk around video, an older Canadian couple down here in Az for the winter said to us at boat Ramp" Walk the Ramp" always....that day the boat launch on our side was missing and our trailer dropper off and damaged the the tire& rim, so I'll never forget "Walk the Ramp"! Prep for all scenarios! Safe travels!

I don't know how the tabs are on those new style vents but the older models you can use a manual awning rod to flip up and down the tabs without use of a ladder. I prefer manual awnings so I will always have the tool around although it's useful for other things as well.

I drilled a small hole in the jack plates on bottom that i connect a small wire with a carabiner to the hole then the other end i made a loop with a carabiner which connects anywhere u can this will prevent a jack from ever failing and coming down when u are driving

Nice set up. Your mechanic experience comes in handy. I’ve got a 2008 GMC 3500 dually diesel. Just had the brakes done and mechanic found a mouse nest in the air filter which screwed up the DPF filter regeneration. All good now. Our 2022 Lance 1172 should be coming this month hopefully. It’s a heavy camper too around 5000 lbs wet. Safe travels 👍🇨🇦

When you consider the rickety sh_t going down the highway the issue will never be a meticulous guy like you that has mastered the rv setup to a tee. Rather the focus is largely you driving parameter...people passing, oncoming, wildlife, road conditions...two sets of eyes these days in terms of defense driving. First rate set, excellent advice.

Wow what a rig. Good info on the pre-trip. Is it the camera or is there a bit of truck sag even prior to loading the Land Cruiser, and do you need any additional suspension for all of that, like air bags?

Truck sags about an inch. Still high though on the rear. No suspension mods.

Curious why you decided to upgrade from the 990 to the 1150? We’ve had a 11ft camper before and I’ve been considering a 9ft camper for less hangover.

After the 990 was written off (see my Bigfoot video) I bought an 11 foot old Bigfoot and really enjoyed the extra space. With the height of the F450 the hangover doesn’t seem to be an issue.

I’m over 10’000 lbs under the gcvw. And with 19.5 tires the rear axle is 16’000, and I’m and a long ways from that as well. The truck handled excellent on the way down to the Black hills. Will post a follow up when I return.

@@darrylg7600 Thanks for the reply. I own a 06 350 DRW and my payload is about 5k. (13k GVWR) I’m looking to a double/triple slide camper and they’ll max that out dry. The 450’s of your year listed at about 5300 payload but much higher towing. My understanding is that if I’m over GVWR and have an accident our insurance won’t cover so I’ve been looking to 450/550 4500/5500’s cab and chassis because they have approx 16k/19k GVWR respectively. Which is why I was asking. GCVW is fine as long as your payload, including tongue weight, is within your GVWR. Glad it’s working for you and maybe your insurance is different from BC. Thanks!

The HSR’s on my truck are either 110 or 120 psi. I can’t remember if they are G or H rated. Either way they’re good for 4000 or around 4200 pounds per tire. I think you are looking at the owners manual for recommended tire pressures. I usually only run 85 in the back with just the camper.
