2022-23 KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM TOUR
#kindergartenclassroom #classroomtour
Hi, all, and welcome to my Classroom Tour for the 2022-23 School Year! This is a realistic classroom tour, as things aren't perfectly cleaned up and put away, but I wanted to go ahead and bring it to you anyway, as it's good enough, and is the space we've been existing in for the past few months. If you're curious about any part of my classroom, please let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to answer!
Thank you so much for watching! ♥

I really like how you have all of your centers differentiated. I've always struggled with differentiating in an organized way, but I think I will take your idea for seat work being in labeled folders with a labeled example and use it in my own kinder classroom this year!

Thank you! My students found it so much easier to see precisely what they were supposed to do, and it meant I didn't have to answer ten thousand unnecessary questions, LOL. It does take some upkeep, since I had to regularly switch things out, but it was manageable!
@Post-its & Pens Thank you for the classroom tour Merin. I truly like your classroom and some of the (rainbow) decorations in it. As tough as school is today here you are still hanging in there and handling it like a champ and working with your students through every struggle and making ways to making everything work. Your students really do love you for that and I do not blame them one bit. - Dwight
Love your classroom! Beautiful set up and love your rainbow theme :)

I do try, LOL! Of course, this video was filmed after I had an entire Teacher Work Day to clean things up. 😂

wow! Nice classroom setup maximizing all the space. By the way, with your 24 kids, hom many teachers/adults are there?

I actually had 25 for most of the year! And it was just me. We don't have aides or paras in our rooms unless it's part of a child's IEP services.
Do you share the closet and storage outside of your room with other teachers or is that all yours? Loved seeing your classroom!!

Nope, it's mine! The cabinets outside go all along that wall, so each of us has storage. And we each have our own closet as well.
Can you tell me how your students use your book bins? Also for those 7 math drawers, how do they use those? Thanks so much!!

Do you mean the bins in my library? Or the individual student book boxes? As for the drawers, the students had a must do, which they had to complete first, and then they could pick a drawer to play with/do the activity from once they were finished. Sometimes they never got a chance to play, depending on if their work was done or not. It encouraged them to actually work rather than talk, LOL.
Hello! How do u use ur mailbox/take home folder system? I dont have cubbies this year and am looking for a system that will work

So the students had folders that were provided by the school. I had them keep those in their chair pockets, and then I'd place all their papers/notes/whatever in their mailboxes. They also would put any papers from their Specials classes in their mailbox as they entered the room. Part of their packup routine was to empty their mailbox and put their papers in their folders. It worked pretty well for us once I taught the routine and we practiced a few times.
Hi. Are the worksheets you use in class for labeling and the decidable ones you use (I think they were in another video) are they from your curriculum or tpt?
@postitsandpens

Hello! They're all from Tara West on TpT. The labeling ones are in her labeling bundle, and the decodables are from her Science of Reading curriculum. :)
Just curious, why are you not allowed to show students names? Isn't it just their first names? I want to make a video of my class set up this year (1st Time), so I just want to know what the rules are about this because I haven't see where we aren't allowed. I only use names on the desk plates for the most part and numbers and colors elsewhere. I don't want to have to change names on everything each year. By the way, I love your classroom!

I just always try to err on the side of caution. I don't get permission from parents to share anything regarding their children online, and even though it would just be a first name, some students have very unique names that would be easy (or easier) to track down for anyone who got it into their heads to do so.
