Just finished the install!!! So happy with the update. Thank you for the step by step install with the download link. The heated seats and front windshield ventilation setup have been fixed plus Android auto has been upgraded! This infotainment center was one of my biggest complaints of the car, and now it's been fixed!

Awesome, thanks! Worked perfectly on my 2022 Premium 6MT. I did have to resort to the appendix and wait 15 min first. Also, the install took a full hour, brand new Sandisk 3.0 128gb drive I formatted to NTFS 1st too. Still extremely happy to finally have full screen AA!

My man! Thanks a lot, and I just did this for my Subi. Had to go back and forth with downloading/deleting the files but eventually got it right lol

So glad you made this video. Videos like this help us in the community a ton! I didn't know the update finally came out (got my wrx in October 23). I talked to the dealership a bunch when looking at mine and they all claimed it was an issue with AA. I knew that wasn't true as AAwirless makes a device that allows full screen AA on the wrx and the many rentals I have rented for work have full screen AA in all different shape and size screens. I just wish this would go over the air like that feature you mentioned in the video. Would save all of us some time if we could just click a "download and install update" button on the car during boot up of the screen

Thank you so much for the tip! For anyone wondering, if you have not installed a previous update like me, expect to spend around 40-45 minutes in total. You do not need to install previous updates for it to work, just install this one and it will bring you up to date!

Good point - because when my screen popped up showing current software, mine was different from what is seen in the video, but it still went fine.

The AA wireless dongle does this exact same thing and makes it wireless android auto. So much better. I just jump in, start the car and it connects wirelessly almost instantly. Well worth the 60 bucks.

It worked! Thx ✌️ just subbed . Actually it didn't work the first time i did it- bc i just dragged over the zip folder. Make sure you do it just as Awais (spelled right?) did it in the video, by selecting all folders and dragging them all at once otherwise the car won't detect it. Its actually so awesome now that its such a big screen!

Awesome. It went very well. Hardly 5 minutes to update the car.

So, the update (for any other in-Japan owners of the VB). After getting onto my dealer and giving him my version code, even though the onboard system tells me everything is up to date, he tells me there's a later version and it has the full-screen AA in it. Normally I would have to pay for it but he's putting it through as a warranty claim (AA not working properly). I'm almost due the 5000km oil-service anyway, so I've booked it in. If it hadn't been for the heads-up here I doubt I'd have ever known, so thanks again dude. :)

Funny enough as I was buying my ‘23 VB I switched from Android to iPhone. I’ll admit that the half screen AA issue was a big factor in that switch. But I’m happy to know that I can switch back if I wanted to.

great update! I agree I've never had an automatic update and even when I have my car connected to wifi and check for updates, it says theres no new updates? Not sure why it doesn't just download and install this one automatically or even on demand. Every morning I drop my kids off to school, and if we're a bit early, we chill in the car and play the android games, (they love it!) but the screen is so small! They're going to love this surprise I hope it makes the games screen bigger! Thanks for this, I had no idea there was an update for it! EDIT: confirmed! gamesnacks games are now full screen! kids are loving it!

I thought about it but most of them are just little stability issues that can't really be tested properly. I would have had to do a before and after. I figured the AA screen really was the bread and butter. So much so that they highlighted it in the patch notes 😂

I was so bummed when i got my wrx last month that it didnt have FSAA. This must have came out days after i searched for a solution. Anyway, took under 9 minutes for me. I didnt have a flash drive but it worked great from a portable SSD.

I almost swapped to an iPhone in november. soooo happy that's no longer the case.

As an android fanboy who currently has an iPhone, this makes me so happy I can switch back without having this issue. FWIW, I applied this update and think the system is a bit more responsive. For example, previously when getting in the car, the climate controls would chug and lag for the first 20 seconds of starting up. The past couple times has responded MUCH quicker than before when hopping in the car. The long list of patch notes goes a long way towards fixing the general buggy-ness people complain about. I hope Subaru continues to update this unit with performance and stability fixes and not leave us 22-23 owners high and dry just because they already made their money off us.

Its a TAD squishier as expected but overall i love it. SO smooth and comfortable even with the 10k springs. I currently have the car setup for like 6.5 inch clearance. I drive over anything haha

Yea I Mean not much happens to it. Unfortunately a lot, if not all cars are starting to come that way. The choice is pretty limited if that's the your deciding factor, unfortunately.

Well you still need to plug in to charge it. Although some people have the wireless USB pads that you can use for wireless charging. The nice thing with it going wireless is you won't lose connecting if the USB cable jiggles the wrong way.

My new 2023 is currently in Subaru’s shop because they’re telling me it IS wireless. I keep telling them that it isn’t. Both wireless & wired options do not function in my car. (166 miles on it.) I, like you (@ 10:29 ) was under the impresssion there was no wireless option and a wireless adapter was needed in order to add the wireless capability. My car has been in the shop for (2) weeks, come tomorrow. I’ve been in possession of my car for (2) weeks. How sad is that? I wish I could gain some clarity. Subarus website says wireless function is what’s supposed to be available, under the OWNER RESOURCES tab. I will try this if I ever get my car back.

Yea idk man 2022 and 2023 are definitely not wireless. Maybe they are confusing it with the outback head unit which is wireless.

You just click download. You can't preview it because it's not an image or video. It's ok just click download.

Initially my phone would not connect to car , but once I restarted phone and actually started the car everything worked flawlessly. Tried it multiple times. Works great. Just saw another person in the comments mention this, but it might just be they needed to restart everything. Thanks again man , love your vids! Keep it up!

The car is on Sparco terra 17x7.5+44 and Falken Wildpeak 235/55/17. It'll be SUPER close on stock but I think. It might work.

@@dolfowolfo1 if you push the map button it should go back to the full screen. The widgets can be brought up and down below the map.

I am not 100% sure. After doing some googling I'm seeing that some people have issues with their dcm module. This looks like something the dealer can help with or you can try to a) reinstall or b) wait for another update ( I wouldn't recommend this considering how long it takes them).

I spoke to subaru of America and they told me to use another usb Stick and reinstall to see if it fixes it and if not to call them back because my dealer doesn't even know about the update

I just look at the bottom screen of my base and wonder...why. There is like nothing that shows up on that screen.

Yea im not sure how the Base benefits. IM glad they added the bigger screen tot he base going forward. It was a no brainer.
