You can customize all screens, just hold finger on a section for 5 sec. You also have a drop down menu if you swipe down from the top, this can also be customized.

Very helpful! Sort of like the old school walk thru when you’d pick up your new car. The nice thing about this is you can PAUSE the video, and do those adjustments. You can also REWIND, and watch it again. And you can take it in manageable chunks rather than a “one and done” approach. Nice job!!

Also there is an ID light in the dash near the window. The light will interact with the built in nav and indicates when to turn and which direction. When you walk up to your vehicle it lights up. I believe after or during charging it will light up indicating how much of a charge it has.

Thanks much for this tutorial; it was quite thorough. A number of settings will probably only be done one time, sort of like set it and forget it. I also noticed that the lag when using hand gestures has improved exponentially. Our ID.4 Pro has arrived in the U.S. and will be arriving at our local dealership soon. You can try swiping down from the top center of the infotainment screen and see if anything shows up, if it does use the slider bar to adjust the brightness. If nothing appears on the screens try double tapping the screen. If again nothing happens I would suggest taking it to the dealership for them to fix. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the question. According the vw ID4 chat rooms, this is a problem almost everyone is experiencing. The only thing I can tell you is you have two choices: 1). Take it to the dealership and hope the technician and their software can reset it for you, 2) some have used an aftermarket item called OBDeleven which is a diagnostic tool, to reset it. If you search for how to reset it, and scroll through the comments, there are some instructions on how to reset it using OBDeleven. As always when following someone else’s instructions, be sure you are confident that it will work, and not mess up anything else. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the thorough walk through. One thing which is still not clear for me is whether or not ID4 (US version) has a heater to be used in the winter. I know it has heated front seats and steering wheel, but does it actually blow warm/heated air to the cabin during driving with the desired temperature, to be used in the winter time? Every video I watch, they talk about the A/C and not heater. Would be great if you comment on this.

Thanks for the question. This does have a regular in car heater. This particular vehicle is in Minnesota so they definitely have regular heat controls to blow hot air through the air vents. Thanks for watching!

Certainly! If you pull the windshield wiper stalk towards you you activate the demisters in the Front. If you push the stalk away from you , then you activate the rear demister. Thanks for watching!

Good overview. I still can't figure out how to delete past destinations. Often times these are places I went once and do not need to have recorded in destinations. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks! To delete stored places click on the gear icon, click on basic functions, then click on delete usage patterns. This will delete frequently driven routes, and position information. You can also turn off the feature that automatically stores your usage patterns by clicking on the same gear wheel as above, then click on basic functions, then click on deactivate learn usage patterns. How can I turn off auto off when you get out of the seat and the vehicle turns off? Sometimes we have others in the car and when I get out the a.c. turns off. How can I keep car or ac running if driver gets out?

Thanks for the question. When you start to exit, you’ll get a notification on your screen that say something like “immediate climate control”. If you push on it it should keep the ac/heat going when you exit for up to 30 min. If you download the owners manual online, look at page 128 and it has more info on that. Ok, there’s no set way that I can find but here are two work around you could try. 1. Press park Upon exit screen, press Start button Unfasten seat belt; route it behind your back and re-fasten Exit vehicle 2. Leave key fob in car, when you exit and it turns off reach in and press the start/stop button. Annoying for sure. Hopefully VW will fix this with a future update. Hope those ideas as imperfect as they are, are helpful. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the question. The first one is to set wether or not the click is set manually or automatically. The second one is for actually manually setting the clock. The third one is for you to select the time zone if your setting it automatically and the 4th area is just to set the date. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the question. In the infotainment screen if you press on Vehicle, then in the next window press on vehicle again, you will be able to click on Mirrors. Thanks for the question. A vehicles air conditioner should be able to run even with no people in the car. Are you saying your air conditioning shuts off if you step out of the drivers seat and the car is running (with a passenger in the passenger seat)? The only thing I can think of is it must be linked to your drivers profile. If you set up a drivers profile, I would suggest going back through all the those settings to see if there’s something in there that you can turn off. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Yes for safety reasons certain functions are locked out while the vehicle is in motion. The beauty of our video being on KZread is that you can sit in your garage or driveway and program everything you want as you want it and if there’s something you missed you can always reverse the video and watch it over and over again. Thanks for the question. In short, no it doesn’t. In terms of being able to set up a personal profile that includes seats, outside mirrors, steering wheel, and infotainment settings, that automatically set according to your key fob or phone, the answer is no. However the memory buttons (on the Pro S and 1st Edition models only) will set the seat, outside mirrors, and steering wheel positions with just a press of one of the memory buttons. @@timlocke8588 I tried it out to find out. It does not show directories, instead it shows a list of music files. I had some in m4a format and a couple in MP3, in separate folders, all was displayed as one music list.
