Great review Mark. For the first time ever I would probably take this over a Honda equivalent (Forza 350). Why? Because the Sym has virtually the same effortless performance and a screen which is nearly as good, excellent economy, huge under-seat storage, decent warranty, is similar weight, and quite a bit cheaper. Provided you can find a Sym dealer to do the in-warranty servicing this is a far better value machine than the Honda. I'm very impressed by the comfort, speed, brakes, and the lower seat is better for many riders. Never mind "light" touring. This scooter could easily do a long multi-national tour with tons of luggage, and you could get away with just a light extra bag strapped to the back seat. Excellent machine!

Hurray! Mark Pulling Reviewing SYM. So nice I clicked thumb up 3 times. I own 2 from the brand Mio and Fiddle 3. You might have seen me on the road ;-). Proper pronunciation is S Y M like B M W but it's a mistake so common you just have to live with, kind of like "been" in America as "ben", "h" in UK as "heidz" not "eidz" or perhaps I'm being a bit nerdy. Best value for money on the market.

Very good Clip about the Sym 300. Thank you for your work. 👍 I think sym is one of the most underestimatet Brands of Motorscooters in Europe. Most drive Vespa, Honda or yamaha or kymco. I have a 125 sym jet and will switch to the joymax z+ 300.

It seems every SYM distributor in every country chooses it’s own service interval…3,000 Km is a little pathetic nowadays 😣 On the other side of the spectrum Royal Enfield chose to increase service intervals on their Meteor. In Israel these water cooled SYMs have a 5000 km service interval. No one beats Honda though 👍👍👍 Thank you 🙏

Unfortunately this is the Chinese Market. They just require a little more maintenance than Convenient motors. Unfortunately it's due to the amount of limitations of dealerships. Not many dealerships will touch a chinese/Taiwanese bike. Hence why the short intervals.

Excellent review, I’m a big fan of the maxi scooters having owned a Suzuki Burgman and Yamaha T Max when I used to commute into London (100 mile round trip) every day until being made redundant when the company moved location. The Sym and Kymco maxi scooters do look good and if I was in the market again for a maxi I would seriously take a look at them as they undercut the Japanese in price. I only have a very short commute these days so use a 125cc scooter. Can you test any of the Royal Alloy scooters?

Very underrated manufacture who actually builds the BMW max scooter and the G 310cc engine for BMW and others. Lack of advertising and little known in the US. They are the 3rd largest manufacture of scooters in the world. They have built components for Honda for decades also.

Yeah, additionally Lets not forget that the Honda Forza 350 is also some 33mm (1.3") taller in the saddle than the JoyMaz Z +, which may register as a no-no for riders of shorter statue. Of interest, its possible that Honda kicked off the resent (Maxi) motor scooter craze (compared to the original 1950s Vespa category . . with manual transmission & twist gearchange), with their early 1980s Helix (CN250) with its non-repeated 665 mm (26.2 in) Seat Height. So, lets not forget that Honda has turned its back on the preferences of riders of shorter statue.

But used they are a steal. You can't get one with less than 700 miles on it for £3600.

19:20 "You can probably pick up a good used one..." You're either dreaming or live in the future. I can't even find this model in the global SYM website yet. How in the world am I going to find a used one?

Not exactly Honda quality nor the Forza's 8000mile service intervals. I'd rather pay the extra and have a Forza 350 (which I've ordered).

Unfortunately that's down to limitations of dealerships. Hence why they want sooner intervals. Not many dealerships will touch chinese/Taiwanese bikes.
