Yep, I ended up buying the swift over the Toyota Starlet/Suzuki Baleno, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo and the Atos. We mostly travel 30km long roads in Swartland, and going 100km/h at 3.2rpm in 4th gear is bloody impressive. We don't need a big car, and amazingly handles pretty well in forceful winds. Great car for beginner buyers or just needing decent car to get you from point A to B. Really loved the review by the way, very insightful specially the parts focusing on how the car reacts engine/power-demand wise.

Got me a 2021 Japan made new Swift (GL) variant for 14 000 euro . Amazing car - city driving - 5.5l/100km tops ! Open road 5.0l/100km . Such fun, light easy to drive car - takes no afford to drive it fast on a bands - goes 175km/h 4 person inside 😍

@Sechaba Ramphele For me, 2 factors. The boot size and the power-train/engine size. We as a family dont need the extra power, and the boot size did not matter cause we use the car for only driving to school and work. The moment you are going to use the car for more then that, then Starlet would have been our choice.

I Own The 2019 GA Version, and If You don’t Have Budget Constraints, Buy Yourself A GLX To fully enjoy it, Though Even a GA Model Is Alot of car for your money As even insurance is cheaper than A Vivo. The Running costs are Really cheap and If you’re buying used, It’s very easy to see a swift that has been in an accident. But Overall, It’s a Nice Car to own, Easy to Love, And Such a Huge enjoyable party to drive. NB: It has small tank(37L) but it literally Gives you back your Fuel sometimes👻.

The 2017 swift had a 1.0 turbo option in many markets and it was a marvelous engine.

Great review. I do agree with the fact that small light cars are fun to drive.

My parents blessed me with this car about a week ago and I love it! I must just say that it most definitely can get you through moving house! I've been moving all week! With the back seats down anything is possible! Hahaha :)

I understand what you are saying about the car not having headlight safety features such as the option of HID/LED headlights but you get a high spec Kia picanto R240K with projector headlights, which means that irrespective of price, safety should not be compromised. They cannot only make the option of projector headlights only on the sport version.

I bought a 2021 swift Gl red....... Feels better to drive than a picanto.... Looks better as well... Handles closest to first Gen Ford Figo.... Very light on fuel..... The tyres don't grip enough... The Tyre just spin in gear acceleration.... Very exciting to drive..... My Gl has tc and esp 2021....

the swift is really alot of car for the money i was seriously surprised by it my only complaint on the one i drove was the clutch feedback was not great but otherwise its a joy to drive that engine is not a rocket but its great for what it is the infotainment is decent for its price too other then that its comfortable to drive seats are good i cant really fault the swift its a great car for its price and yes i agree with the humming on the highway also when you take calls the noise comes through the car mic too i can say so much more about this car i fail to see anything else this good in its price range anyway good video

Good video! . A lil suggestion. How about you add more shots/cut scenes (whatever you call it😅) of the things you talk about within the video. E.g. Alex mentioned boot space of 268litres, so a cut scene to the boat opened and showing us. It helps with us visualisation. Otherwise, great video! Keep up the good work. 👍🏾

That was some serious nitpicking to try find things wrong with it! My mom recently purchased one of these, and she absolutely loves it.

Silly question maybe, but has it got fix points for roof rails? The boot is kind of small, and every now and again I'll need to carry some more stuff.

Does anyone hear slight rattle noise when it's in neutral which stops when you put it in gear..... The noise is close to the selector on the gearbox

@@shemin9115 A strong a South Easter will push it around a bit but generally it is ok in the wind. You don't hold out for dear life. The Ignis is the one that gets blown around in our strong winds.

Had one for 2 months didn't like it traded it in for a 191 mirca Happy now

From my experience of driving one for a few months. Its cheaper to run and more reliable. It's frugal on fuel. And people who own one full time never had a breakdown

They just really suck if you have a baby (most car seats require passenger seat to be fully forward and unusable) and my older swift has a massive turning circle, it's embarrassing at times as people assume you should be able to get in tiny spaces but the turning circle is HUGE, always doing 3 point turns

The ones that come to south Africa 2019 to 2021 are from India and the one older some are from Japan and some are from India....and the first models that SA got was Japan... Check the. Vin codes M is India. And J japan

Guys the most i can get out this car is legit 16.9 at most 17.1 km/100 an i tried guys i even drove 80-100 on national speed. This 5.6 figure people are talking about baffles me 😂

I drive 140km distance daily with return i get 5.5/5.6 GL auto dzire. At a speed of 80-110

Average fuel consumption is high
