2021 Sinnis Terrain T380 Review - It’s cheap, but is it cheerful?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The 2021 Sinnis Terrain T380 sits at the budget end of the market promising the adventure bike experience for less than £5000. Does the small capacity machine fulfil that promise? In this video I'll offer my usual balanced review of the bike after spending a couple of weeks on it, riding as many varied roads and dirt as I could.
The T380 terrain is built to a budget, so I obviously have to factor that in, but it also still needs to do the job intended. I look at the key aspects including pricing, longevity, comfort and performance.
In the video, I'm wearing the Klim Drifter jacket & Knox Urbane Pro Trousers & Gloves which can be found here ;

    Great review as always... and for people ( many ) will love this for under £5000..... NOT everybody wants or can afford a £15,000+ motorcycle

    i have one, and agree the sidestand lean is a frightener, also the seat is a wrestling match to put back on, with a under tank lip at front , your click down at the back and the killer, a hook and eye set up in the middle, have fun matching those three up i can tell you!

    Good to hear some honesty, I hear too many people raving about Chinese bikes without mentioning the downsides. Rusting before it left the factory. I recently looked at a Benelli TRK502 and the build quality was pathetic.

    It’s something I always offer in my reviews. The bike is cheap for a reason

    I saw a Benelli at a bike show a few years back. Fit and finish was shocking: exposed wiring, dodgy plastic coming off, all sorts of red flags. The one positive is that over time, they'll get better in terms of quality. People say that Japanese bikes in the 50s and 60s weren't great in terms of quality either.

    Nice review as always Tony. Be interesting to see how this compares against the benelli trk502x. I had one when they first came out and like the sinnis the main issue was spare parts lead time and also fairly heavy....but for the money still a great bike. The TRK has a bigger engine so is probably closer to the Honda 🤔👍

    TRK is an awful bike, as a CB500X owner, they are not comparable.

    I've had a Trk 502X for nearly 2 years. Fitted a slightly smaller rear sprocket (42 instead of 44 tooth)for easing the engine revs on the motorway roads. It tours, does commuting,rides with mates. Not a single problem with it. Marvellous value for money IMHO.

    That kickstand lean was worrisome for me. CSC (the importer to the US) sells an extended kickstand. I have the RX4, the single 450cc version. After I installed the extended kickstand I felt better.

    Looks a bit cluttered with the bars and all the luggage and attendant scaffolding, but even the big adventure bikes do, so that's not really a criticism. Cheap, I suppose, but I think there are better value bikes around for not much more. I suppose it is directly comparable to the brilliant KTM 390 Adventure, but that is a lot more expensive. The 390 is the bike in this sector I'd buy, but I'm biased. I have a Duke. The usual excellent review, Tony.

    I've watched a couple of your vids on mobile whilst waiting for other stuff to happen and I've noticed that they're not being marked as watched on the web version of youtube. Seems a bit odd and disjointed. Winter's comin' recommendations for good wintery ones that'll cope with rain. Triumph ones getting a bit long in the tooth. (all year/weather riding) Would like something that'll go over the Rukka jacket cuffs. Any ideas?

    Buy it new and chuck it at a dealer once the warranty runs out. I couldn't imagine anyone doing this worrying about residues.

    I'm a lover on sinnis bikes (carby models admittedly) and had them for years. The engines are fantastic on the older models but the frame and other bits are very poor sadly

    It has a niche appeal I guess as you said Tony - you want new, low budget and adv But a used CB500X would be about the same, with a better dealer network, much better residuals and quality of finish And 200kg? Wow
