Been watching a lot of videos on this and other bikes, trying to narrow down what i really want, and while everyone tries to quantify the experience of riding the Himalayan, your comparison to ford's straight 6 was the first thing that's really resonated with me. That was my first truck at 16. Could pull anything, but i used to tell people "if you're lucky" when they asked me what the 0-60 was in high school. To this day that was my favorite truck i ever had, and that just really solidified my interest in this bike. Thanks for the video!

Thank you! It’s so interesting that almost all owners make this comment…. There is just “something about this bike.” Owners really bond with it and don’t care about any supposed flaw all. I’ve heard it over and over. I’m about to pull the trigger on one I think. I live in dirt road heaven NW Arkansas now. Oh my current bike? Yamaha MT-10. I’ve got the acceleration and speed thing handled. I think the RE H will be fantastic.

I've beat the trash outta my 2019 Himalayan all over colorado passes & abandoned mining trails it's not fast, very heavy, but fuel range is awesome & can load it up like a pack Mule, dealer support is So-So but same goes for other models & the stealer-ships are all the same regardless of brand

🇬🇧I've got a 2021 himi as an every day ride to work bike, done 10k plus miles , solid robust easy to service well built bike . Bought it to replace a 60k 7year old h---a .

Just hit 9000 miles on my 2021....and it's been everything I'd hoped it would be. Honestly my only legitimate issue is that I just wish it were a bit lighter. Otherwise I've been quite thrilled with it and have taken it on many multi-day adventures. I will say that adjusting the TPS and idle-speed, as well as replacing the fuel pump and injector relays, has fixed all of my idling, starting, and stalling issues. I'm working on my 2-year review myself...but so far it is essentially just a repeat of my 1-year review....

Excellent! Just picked up my 2023 Himalayan after 21 years on a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500. The 750 lbs got to be a bit much. My favorite truck - my 87 F150 with the 300 super six- i agree with the comparison! Ride safe!

I've ridden mine at 85 mph for a fifty mile stretch. The bike even reached 90 mph one time for about a minute. And it's completely stock.

Have you noticed any oil burning at that speed? I live in west Texas and I’m thinking about getting one. I rode one but I wasn’t allowed to take it up to highway speeds. But outside the city, the speed limits climb to 75 mph. Will the bike do 60-65mph comfortably? I’m not looking at this as a highway bike but someplaces I want to go camping on it I need to do some highway for like 45 minutes. Thank you

Did you guys get the 300 inline 6 from Ford in Australia? Or just the v8s?

Love your video and that you’ve done a lot of the work yourself. The compass I believe can also be a clock or set it I On Bluetooth Navi system. I’ve just started looking at this one. It definitely has a cool factor and does handle really well off road as well as street. Just found, liked and subscribed 🎉😂.

Merry Christmas Brother!( Happy Birthday) Funny how the wives pick out the bikes inadvertently. Honest review and great information. Videos are on utube of this Reliable War Horse. Noraly has practically circled the planet on adventure bikes...but to Go to India and Ride her new RE out of India is Immense. A RE team brought this Himalayan motorcycles to 18,600 feet, up the Himalayans...and it was brought to the South Pole! Why? Ask Shackleton.( Adventure/ freedom/outdoors) Bet his team would of loved a 6 pack of the RE's. These motorcycles have been in existence for 121? years. Let them perfect their motorcycles and if we're lucky enough...We will see some fortunate individual on the new 450 or 650 Scram/Himalayan. ( Had 3- F150's). Theirs a certain Freedom or something going on with these Gems and I am getting in line for one, or two possibly. That RE 350 classic signals is absolutely Gorgeous. Stay Safe out there. 1/22/2023. Down-payment placed on 2022 Red Rock leftover. $5700.00 out the door cash. ANTICIPATION.

Moving to northern Thailand this year and will definately be getting one of these for the winding mountain roads and exploring offroad. Speed is not essential on these type of roads and can cross borders into neighbouring countries where even the sealed roads are commonly in disrepair. Thanks for the solid review.

I have a 22, same color as yours. Just curios if you notice the engine quieting down at your milage vs say 300 or 500 miles?

Really appreciate that!!! Means a ton!! I feel like the 411LS engine is a bit noisy under heavy acceleration. From what I can tell it's inherent to its design. The big cooling fins on the cylinder, transfer noise. The valves click a little even when they are dead set perfectly. I have noticed the more I rode it, the better and smoother it ran. Thanks again for the kind words!

Would you trust it to go across country? I'm looking for a bike to do the TAT on. If I need parts on the way I'm just worried about dealers.

Absolutely. I currently don't have any reason not to trust it at all. I think the nationwide dealership system is getting pretty good

Appreciate the video. I plan to get me one pretty soon was considering a klr but the fuel mileage and the fact that I'm 5" 10" with a good pair of boots on has about settled it. And the price. You must be from my neck of the woods? I'm guessing "Alabama"?

Thanks for another good video. I heard you mention you also have a DR. Is it a DR650? I have DR650 and been drooling over the Himalayan for awhile. Do you find that there is much overlap between the 2 bikes?

Hey Marc, thanks for the comment man! Yeah, my other bike is a 93 DR350S. Definitely some overlap there but the DR is a bit better on technical tight woods and single track. I'm thinking it's less than 300lbs. 280 or so maybe. And at that weight it makes around 35hp so it's definitely a lot faster getting to and from the trail. To be 100% honest, I've had a ton of different bikes through the years, old and new, and the DR is hands down the best bike I've ever owned. Had it well over 20 years with hardly any issues. My riding buddy rides a 19 650 and I enjoy riding it some as well.

Sounds like the Himmy is a good bike. Something about it I don't really like the look of. Right off I cant put my finger on it, maybe its the big tank. If I rode it Id probably fall in love with it though. EE

It's definitely different. Something about riding is impossible to put into words. The Ford 300 six cylinder reference was as close as I could get. Definitely ride one if you get a chance

That Ford 300 is a great motor. I really like the Himmie but it's just too slow for the way I would want to use it. 10hp and 6th gear and it would be a winner.

What brand is the slip-on exhaust?

That Ford F-150 Analogy is perfect. Drove 3 F-150's. 1. 1984 In line 6 Cy. 296 Ci. 2. 1990 V-8 302 3. 2002 V-6 4.2 litre. All had low torque...15 miles per gallon average...all 3. Work horses just like RE.

@Randy Vining yeah man, they are both nice in their own way. Same here, I had a c70 and a ct70 as a kid. When I saw the 125 was coming out,.I had to have one. To be completely honest, I had a gut feeling the Gulag guards that be in our world that hate internal combustion were going to try to stop making gas powered bikes. I don't need more than one bike, but since I had that feeling, I'm gonna get as many as I can. Buying barn finds, fixing them, selling them to buy the ones I want to ride! I care absolutely nothing about riding dewalt drills around in the woods

I changed the air filter to a DNA filter. It made some difference. What make is that silencer?

2500 miles? Not even run in yet. Wait till its done 4500 then you will realise how much better its getting. Mine took 4000 miles before it would pull to red line in top gear.
