When he was doing it, I was like, oh no, don't stray from your game plan. I had no idea it would lead to that. There is a difference in mental stance between playing to win and playing not to lose. That said, it was incredibly bad luck on that OB.

It was smart to lay up he just should've stuck with that plan. Uphill putt inside the circle with crazy unpredictable wind and on a hill with short grass for par while up 1. That's a lay up 100%. There's a fpo player that gives me mental advise in the game and she says after throwing your first shot stick with whatever your game plan was after that shot even if you have a different or better shot in your toolkit.

Honestly luck played a huge factor there. Sometimes it's not meant to be no matter how well you play. KJ is a great dude with a killer game, he will bounce back. As much as it hurts, he will learn from this and be better for it.

That was rough. However, he laid up the tee, but was fairly aggressive on the rest of the shots/putts. Ultimately, though, I think it's just a couple of bad outlier moments on one hole together that we later try to ascribe reason to. Just a terrible beat. Feel bad for him, especially to not even have a shot at it on 18.

I love the cuts over to chase card, you guys should keep that up in future coverage!

Man, Eagle played so good all weekend going into Final Round I feel he earned it. But Kevin played so good. Hole 15 was insane, the replay in the post round interview (38:50) is INSANE. HOW DID THAT NOT STAY IN?!?

This wasn't Simons best round but overall I'm extremely impressed with his performance and bounce back. Lead card every round is awesome, his putts were on fire and those cloud breaker drives were super human.

Agreed. He said before the tournament he was hoping to sneak in a top 10 finish and he was in the running for the win for almost the whole tournament. Glad he's back.

Simon had at least four putts that were soooo close. So fun to watch when 10 players are within a couple strokes. Kevin had that hole we all dread when having a great round going. Congrats to Eagle!

Yeah he looked like somebody ran over his dog and it made me even more sad This happened on a tournament last year while he played basically flawless but still lost in the end. So really a hard one like the reserve or something

Actually, his par put on 15 should have stayed in. All those misses were too close. Tough breaks for sure. He should have won.

@@thecynic807 The shape of the disc is why they dont putt with a driver or midrange. You have to remember, these guys aren't dropping in from 5 feet away. Have you ever thrown a disc that is too fast for your arm? The same thing would happen if you were putting with a driver/midrange. Very little accuracy and a much higher chance for a roll away because the disc will land on edge.(most likely) You just can't put enough spin on the disc to counteract the drag that wing imparts on it.

Every time Eagle's dad talks about his son, someone ends up cutting onions. Keep shredding the chains brother!

What a great final round!!! Multiple lead changes, a push from the chase card, and it coming down to the last putt for the win with great coverage and commentary as always by the guys. I had to take a break after 15... I felt so bad for Kev... Big Jerm was absolutely correct, Kevin played 15 exactly how you are supposed to with a 2 stroke lead, but just stepped in quicksand after he missed his comebacker for par. That rollaway was brutal, there was just nothing he could do about it. I do want to give him props though, he was clearly pissed off, who wouldn't be, but he conducted himself like a professional, he wasn't kicking stuff around or throwing a tantrum, just gritted his teeth and got back to work. Good on you Kev for being a true pro.

Shout out to Dustin Keegan and the whole Portland team for getting this course put together at the last minute. Fantastic design fostered truly dramatic play.

I literally forgot breathing for a while when that disc started rolling away, so slowly as it wanted by itself to prolongue the misery and pain. When it stopped OB, as insult to injury I was absolutely speechless. Gutted for KJ, hope he bounces back ASAP. Stand Strong Kevin! Sending love from Czech Republic!

That voice clip of Eagle's dad gave me chills all over. UGH. Incredibley powerful moment, that was beautiful. The joy and the happiness and pride from father to son UGH. SO GOOD 😍😍😍

KJ played a fantastic tournament and legit 1 hole ruined his chance to win. Dudes sooo talented I hate it that happened to him. Thank you Jomez for insanely good coverage as usual tho!

One of the best final rounds in recent memory coupled with great production + the crossover with Gatekeeper. When I first started watching disc golf last year Kevin Jones quickly became my favorite player to watch so it sucks he blundered on hole 15, but recently Eagle has gone to the top of my list so I'm happy he pulled through with the win.

The Outro was amazing. Love these Intros and stories and Outros. Soooooo good and just the right amount of emotions. Thank you for all this amazing content! Support if your not already!

Kevin showed alot of fortitude on 18! Way to keep that head up! Congratulations to Eagle on a great win of an epic battle down the stretch!

Mr. Wysocki is the most polite disc golfer I have ever watched! Even if he’s in the lead or close to it he always encourages everyone else he’s playing with. Such and inspiration! 🙏🏼

Man I just really wanted to give Kevin a hug after that quad bogey. Was able to stay spoiler free for once and thought he had it in the bag, I think that's the first time I've just covered my face and waited for it to be over. Also geeeeez, Calvin and Paul at -9 on the final round. Definitely need to check out the chase card action to see that round.

Best Tournament of the year so far. No doubt. Absolutely incredible golf and some of the best lead cards and drama I've seen. The quality of Jomez has become unbelievable, kudos!

Wow what an incredible finish. Gutted for Kevin but what a performance from eagle. Jomez you guys killed it as always! I really don't understand how you get these videos turned around so quickly with this level of quality. It seems like every week there's something new in your coverage that adds to the experience. But Kevin was such a professional, that's what impressed me most. I have a whole new level of respect for KJ after that. Clearly pissed off, who wouldn't be, but he gritted his teeth, went back to work, and made a fire putt on 18. Can you imagine the theatrics if what happened to Kevin would have happened to someone like Nikko? I shudder at the thought.

Terrible second shot though. Unfortunate? Yes. Unnecessary? Yes.

Props to JomezPro for the additional footage AFTER the win. I personally felt in the past the video coverage after someone won was lacking the celebration. Seeing and hearing the celebration makes watching 3 days (6 videos) of coverage a well-worth closing. Thank you and great job JomezPro!

For all the issues spoken out loud with the course from the players initially, this proved to be one of the most exciting finishes in a long time...

Absolutely amazing tournament, honestly. Probably my favorite of the year so far. That ending was so intense. Amazing commentary all around too. So heartbroken for Kevin, though.

Disc Golf is my favorite show! Thank you to all these top players, film crews, tournament directors, everybody who make this such an awesome sport to watch. The way KJ handled the bad breaks has now made him my new favorite! All the top players together comprise an incredible cast of characters that make the show so awesome. I couldn’t choose a player to root for, their vlogs are all so endearing; I them you all to win. Thank you!
