I came to this video hoping I would find out what was different about the back of the palisade calligraphy from the other models and it was the extra lighting on the taillight housing which you mentioned. Its hard to find them at MSRP, I bought it, had to put a deposit down before the car even hit the lot because they were going so fast. I saw another dealership put the pictures up in the morning and the car was gone before I got there 24 hours later. Will never lease again, had a bad experience.

I have heard of “game changer “ but “time changer”? That’s next level!!! Way to go Miguel!!

Can you do a comparison between the 2021 Telluride and this?

Recently purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD; there are still some areas for product improvement: add power folding exterior side mirrors, add sunglass holder in interior and add illumination for the overhead light buttons above driver and front passenger (the POI buttons are illuminated but the light buttons aren't, that's odd and an omission in form/function) and those rims on calligraphy trim are a bit 'loud', design something more classy the ones on current and previous Limited trim); and last but not least, consider adding hybrid powertrain as is offered on many other Hyundai products.

So the only difference between the calligraphy and the limited is the grill and rims? Need to trade my 2020 for a 2021 now 😫

Before I could read all the features, I was driving the car on "cruise" & noticed the steering wheel doing it's own thing, so I took my hands off ( & took a nap. JK. ) After a few minutes, the car signaled me to "keep hands on wheel". Amazing. Didn't even realize it had this feature.

Well done informative video. May I ask what is the actual ground clearance of the Calligraphy model? It has AWD and larger tires/wheels so I presume it is higher than the 7.9 inches on the base model.

Hello. I am planning to buy a 2021 Hyper White Palisade Limited. I would prefer a Calligraphy trim level, however on Hyunda's website the only interior colors offered are black and dark brown. The one in this video appears to be the "beige" (I say this because to me it looks like a white or cream color) with the black piping which I absolutely love. So does Hyundai USA offer the Calligraphy with the beige interior?

Glad you asked. I dont get it either. Yes, the one in the in the video has a lighter interior, but for some reason Hyundai's car builder says dark brown instead of beige/cream. I believe its because the steering wheel and top dash is dark brown, but the seating is the light colored leather. If you show up to a dealership and ask for a Calligraphy with the being interior everyone will understand.

If you're talking about the inside, the white/cream leather interior, Hyundai calles it "Dark Brown Nappa leather" on the website builder, when in person its the light interior like you see in the video.

Mario S Hyundai has a temp fix. Each dealer should be able to take care of it...again as a temp fix. They’re still investigating the cause of the smell. No word on it smelling in the 2021 models

I test drove a 2021 Limited for four days and didn't notice any smell.

@@MiguelMyCarGuy went into my local dealership and we could not get it to change from 2/3 screen. When we were at split screen there was just a bunch of boxes with check marks, they were the widgets for what appears on the 1/3 screen, deselecting all of them still didn't change the screen size.

What color is the interior it looks white but on the build sheet white is not offered in Canada?

I wish the palisade had the same uni-full-stretch sunroof as the santa fe. That's pretty much the only reason I haven't bought one yet. I want the full stretch panoramic. 2021 santa fe also has wireless android and a palisade-like dash/gear like the palisade. I guess all the changes to bring it to the level of the palisade is why the 2021 SF is taking this long to release.

No power folding mirrors, but yes to the headlights. You have an auto high beam that can activate by itself when the conditions are right.

I'm struggling to understand what makes the 2021 calligraphy any different from the 2020 Limited asside from the, what i assume is standard, roof rack. The interior even looks more similar to the 2020 limited than the 2021 limited did. Am i missing smething? Edit: oh, the grill, the rims, and a few extra lights on the front and back. I guess........🤷🏾‍♂️

If you have a 2020 Limited keep it. The Koreans' are getting smart. Here is a list of the items deleted from the 2021 Limited and only available in the Caligraphy. I would buy one but I am not going to be forced to pay $1700 for all wheel drive in South Florida. No wireless android auto/apple carplay on the top trims... this is the second time Hyundai has done this. Last time was on the 2015 Hyundai Genesis, the ultimate with the bigger screen didn't get (wired) android auto or apple CarPlay where the lower trim with the smaller display did

Sure! The 2021 Palisade trim levels are SE, SEL, SEL Convienence, SEL Premium, Limited and Calligraphy. Prices I will leave up to the Hyundai website because prices and programs vary by region.

Thanks for the compliment! The only way to get the gray leather interior is to get the Palisade SEL with the premium package, not the Calligraphy. If you get Calligraphy you only have black Nappa leather or the beige Nappa leather. And person the steering wheel looks much darker than it does in the online photos. That's why it looks black in the video, but it actually is brown.

@@MiguelMyCarGuy The Calligraphy you are showing off clearly has the "beige" (cream) interior and I have the same question, asked in a separate post already before I read thru what was already here. On hyundaiusa.com they only show the black or dark brown interiors available with the hyper white exterior. You can get the beige interior with the Moonlight Cloud. However, you have a unicorn.....Hyper White exterior Calligraphy trim with the beige interior.

I really wish you would post a video actually using the radio and XM system. I have a RAM 1500 that is beyond expectations with presets recording replay up to 30 minutes each and song skip/repeat. So if I went to 80s station it started recording when I started the truck so I can rewind, then if I go to hits 1 same thing. Mine also saved up to 30 favorite songs/artists with alerts when a fav comes on. I've also read complaints about the radio buttons being white on gray and hard to read. Is this that noticeable? There really isn't ANY videos showing this feature on any cars that I have found (The Manual doesn't really talk about this , even XM doesn't have information on this) . My RAM does have a video on youtube showing this feature, so it makes me think it's the only one.

Hyundai should be updating their online vehicle configurator for the 2021 models very soon. That way you could build the car virtually and see all the colors yourself.

People keep saying something about a smell. Definitely NOT a rotten smell. There is a slight chemical smell. Almost like new car but more concentrated. Maybe it's a treatment they do at the factory?

I have a 2020 Limited & there's no weird smell. And I have a pretty healthy olfactory sense. It just smells like a new car to me.

Mdx and and QX60 are tiny compared to the Palisade and Telluride. Between the Palisade and Telluride however, the Kua feels more rugged and the Palisade feels more luxurious.

2021 Limited still has accent lighting (back too), android auto, same LED headlights as the Calligraphy, automatic headlights. Carl auditts 4 kids. Would like to have 3 up front and 1 in the back so I can fold down one side in the 3rd row for trunk space, strollers, groceries etc. there’s very little trunk space when the 3rd row is up

Sadly its pretty common in this segment for most cars to top out at 7 seats (telluride, atlas, explorer, highlander, etc) none of them offer an 8 seater in the top trims and most of them don't even get up to 7 seats :/. Personally i think the bench seat looks better if you're not going to have a center console in between the seats. While it is functional for a pass through a nice center console like on the CX-9 would just elevate it a bit more!

nappa leather in hyundai apparently stinks horribly in some cars, bad batch of leather?

I test drove a 2021 for 4 days and didn't notice any odor.

It's a shame it doesn't come with a bench seat option for the middle row. The pilot seat only decision is irritating. About the calligraphy, no rimless mirror, no sunglasses compartment, ugly rims... Where's the upgrade?

Thats not true. The suede headliner is exclusive to the Calligraphy and I do mention it.

The Koreans' are getting smart. Here is a list of the items deleted from the 2021 Limited and only available in the Caligraphy. I would buy one but I am not going to be forced to pay $1700 for all wheel drive in South Florida. DELETED FROM 2021 LIMITED Premium cargo sill plate Suede headliner (Melange headliner) Quilted leather door panals Premium side door garnish Body color door handles (now chrome) Front & rear premium skid plates Premium front grill (now silver) Premium accent lighting Side mirror approach lights ( puddle lights) Android Auto ( but not wireless) Projector headlights Automatic headlights Premium rear accent lighting

Not bad but for 49k but there are some basic features missing compared to it's rivals. Take for instance the amount of storage in the main cabin. It has only the typical center and door panel storage. No full panoramic sun roof. No digital rear view display. Only a 10" infotainment screen. The 2nd row lacking the center console or a bench option is a deal breaker.

I have a 2020 Limited. I love it. The wheels on the 2021 are butt ugly.

I was going to use them as winters and buy a nice set for summer.

70% of the features were there in 2020 limited ...the tailgate and open features ... then folding seats... then the Napa .. then driver seat....and many more .. saying since I own it.. BTw not a big fan of calligraphy wheels ....does not give you a feel of luxury... looks like Hyndai tweaked the 2020 limited and made it calligraphy and removed a ton from 2021 limited...

Horsepower is horrible still not over 300 hp and no dual exhausts - will stick to my Range Rover sport supercharged 550 hp

I thought it had dual exhaust? The exhaust tips are just side by side rather than one on either side.

I was looking at that same one. Those guys are out of their mind, just garbage. I was going to drive 6+ hours to get it. I found another in Arkansas. I'm driving up there tomorrow and getting it for sticker price with more add-ons than the one on Houston for $10,000 less. Those guys down there are trash and I've been tempted to let them know it. They were talking about, "This is our top specialty vehicle, so an extra $6,000 for this and $1,000 for that, and so on. They can screw themselves. I wouldn't even pay sticker price for anything, but on these Palisades, there's absolutely no wiggle room. I'm getting my wife's Calligraphy tomorrow, hyper white with black interior, right at 50k. Finding this thing is like hunting a unicorn.

@@fonzomartinez6926 It's in White Hall, Arkansas. The dealership is called Smart Hyundai. They said it's the only one around right now. I had to pay $500 for them to hold it until tomorrow. They're the most honest and hassle free dealership I've ever dealt with. Some real southern, down home older guys that treat you right. The whole process was short and simple since they don't try and squeeze every last penny out of you they can. He told me straight up, "I don't mark them up for like everybody else will do, I sell them for sticker price." Anyways, I was really impressed and I'd highly recommend them to anybody willing to take a road trip. Maybe you could give them a call to see if they will be getting any more.

I hope that everyone that wish to own this car, own a house first. 50 grand is a lot of money. These cars loose their value at least 15 to 20% in the first 2 years. I’ll prefer a Tahoe with more comfortable interior.
