super cool! I just got a 2018 cx3 with only 1 key, the dealer wanted $287 for the key and another $35ea. to program the new key and reprogram the original key. I just got the D7 on sale for $255 on ebay and a new OEM key for $75 lol. My new key comes tomorrow I cant wait to try this out. also pretty cool to have a tool this powerful for diagnostics.

Was the fob you got from eBay previously programmed to a different car? I’m trying to order a fob for my 2013 mazda and the seller says it is still programmed to old car. Wondering if that will affect the programming to my car

Yes, it was a used one that was already programmed to someone else's car.

Hi! Thanks for the great video! I wonder when you programmed did you have 2 working keys in the car and another one to be programmed. I was programming a 2015 Mazda 3 using xtool but it always said “password miscalculation” after I hit ok when it displayed “current number of keys: 2”.

so when it says you need a minimum of 2 keys is that one programmed one not or 2 programmed so you may add a 3rd ?

I'm not sure about that, but whenever I programmed it, I'll only had the one that was programmed and the new one.

For the D8 it's $199usd after the 3yrs, on the D7 it's $99usd after the 3rd year

That is why i bought the non BT version The cabled D8 CHARGES BATTERY when convenient to OBD so never have an issue with battery. Launch has a cleaner more intuitive menu XTOOL is a bit messier and it does some cars very well yet it does very little on some other cars.
