2021 KX 450 X Walk around: What makes it different than the MX bike?
* Update: Since recording the video Kawasaki changed the name from Kx450 Xc to the new name of Kx450 X.
Trent goes over what Kawasaki did to the KX450 to make the NEW X model and why it would make it the perfect bike for a lot of riders in the West. Great video guys, but the main complaint I have with this bike and the RX models from Honda in terms of the desert side is no wide ratio gearbox. Yamaha was the only one to do that so far. The close ratio is good for GNCC, WORCS AND GP racing but in the open desert you will have to gear it taller which will affect your slower technical areas. And its lacking a better bigger skid plate which is crucial for offroad. Just something I noticed.
Probably should of put a bigger gas tank on it but I love it 👍

I want one.(2023 model). But I need it to also be the best bike for a timbersled kit. MX 450' bikes are the best for that. So how easy is it to change it back to mx mapping to have full power? Are the transmissions on both bikes the same? Both close ratio?
What the difference between the kx450xc vs the other cross country kx450x? 2021 seems to have both the X and XC.

Nice bike specs analysis. But a bigger tank and a really luminous headlight would be appreciated, thanks. I didn't hear, does it have electric start? That be nice !

It is Electric Start. Hopefully Kawasaki Puts out another model with the light and bigger tank soon.

@@rexburgms nearest I could find was a Clarke Tank from an earlier model, but wouldn't have the fuel pump installed. What's the output of the stator?
Now this is interesting , I understand that kawasaki changed the model to kx450x instead of the xc, do they still sell the xc because I haven’t seen one with that

The First one that our dealership saw was marked as a XC but the ones since then have come in as X models. So there will be a couple XC models floating around out there.
Is the maintenance any different? Longer between oil changes etc. Thanks

i doubt it. the motor in the xc is the same as in the mx. just different mapping

The Maintenance intervals are the same between the bikes.

Bought a new 450kx xc maybe rode for 30mins and now it has a ticking sound. Any idea what that could be? The bike runs great just worried on the sound. I see most post on this issue are its normal, because of the new finger system.

I had that same problem it’s the rear sprocket being damaged and chain being loose, buy a steel rear sprocket and oring chain

No sixth gear😕 no enduro. Europe do it better. But japanese quality is awesome
does it come with optional kick start also?

They don't have the kick starter bosses on the cases anymore so a kick start can not be added
And it's going to need a large fuel tank so save up!
bear min ...? ktm is the best ......kawasaki sucks... they could have done alot more ,and need to
