2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We let Jaguar's new performance cat out of its cage and find out why this 5L Supercharged V8 is such a beast.
Tweaks to its looks, new tech and some extra torque all combine to make this SVR oh so very special.

@@reverseg5016 You will have a 4-5 year all around warranty, that’s a huuuggeee plus. That worry shouldn’t be a decision maker, maybe for a 300hp jag but not a SVR 😁

Just be clear, that’s 0-100 kph not mph . . . 100 kph = 62 mph. The engine doesn’t seem to rumble and burble like an American V8. I wonder why.

You are quite correct Rocket man, and right to point that out. This is one rapid SUV that's a break from the norm and oh so driveable. The V8 does sound less mechanical than some out there, perfectly in sync with the supercharger and a Jaguar growl. We're big fans.

@@TarmacLife Mercedes put a V8 in its AMG GLC. The ride is often described as quite stiff and/or rough. Jaguar seems to have opted for a smoother ride. The Mercedes is faster but there’s a limit to how much power is usable on a public street and most people don’t commute via a racetrack. For instance, I ride a Honda CBR 1000 sport bike. It’s 1,000 cc. If I’m going on a straight road (with no cops), a 600 cc bike will simply run out of steam before I do. But on a twisty road, the 600 cc bike is just as fast as I am because I can’t utilize my additional power without wrapping myself around a tree. Anyway, maybe you can compare the Jag to the Mercedes. I’m curious as to what you think.

@@mars353 I have managed to get behind the wheel of both and agree that the AMG is a firmer ride. Personally I like both and I feel that Merc wins on the tech but in terms of actual driving the Jag seems to have better turn in and I feel more involved in the drive. The AMG is faster in a straight line but more road noise and I think louder. To me. Driving is more about the curves and I think the Jag reins there.

@@TarmacLife As a sport bike rider, I certainly agree that the fun is in the curves. Any fool can go fast in a straight line. Lol.
