There is so much to love about the savage. I had the original savage years ago and I ended up putting so much money into it. It was basically all aftermarket purple aluminum parts and the crazy expensive clutch so I could get it to wheelie. I didn’t break mine in at all I just filled it up and ran it balls out and never had a problem with it. I eventually put the truckzilla kit on it and it was a turd after that. Trying to keep 2 engines running the same was almost impossible. Then I ended up ditching the twin engines and putting a big block 5cc on it and then I ended up selling it for $300. I still beat myself up over selling it.

Great video 👍 Always have the piston at the bottom of the stroke while cooling down after use otherwise you will lose the pinch and the motor will lose compression.

Its always a good idea to stop the engine before the fuel tank fully empties as it will also burn off oil inside the engine, which is especially important during break in

Yeah richened it a little and lowered the idle. After 45min second tank run the idle was 104

I don't think a receiver failsafe will protect you from a dead battery. It only protects you if it loses signal from the transmitter.

it's kinda ironic that you would come out with an HPI video right now cuz i just spent the better part of the last couple day online finding out what they had to offer and i learned 3 things, yeah they have some vehicles that would be fun to run and there seems to be some kind of connection to hot body, haven't quite figured what the connection is yet but unfortunately i also surprised to learn that accessibility to parts for HPI cars here in the US is pretty lacking......

@@RCTanksTrucks247 the shape of the tank causes it to constantly get leaner as the fuel level drops. Most noticeable at the half tank mark. My suggestion is tune at half tank, it will be a little rich when full. Otherwise it will run dangerously lean towards the end of the tank

Its too lean on the factory setting. It should be richer and spitting out fuel from the exhaust

Yeah man, richened it up just after start up. There was a pool of oil underneath for both runs and temps just under what they recommended

Design doesn't look to have changed a lot since I had a savage x about 12 years ago, tbh it was a nightmare to keep running, absolute pig to clean due to Design, also had problems with brake/throttle Design, could never get it set just right, either to much brake or none at all, had internal 2 speed gesr box destroy itself due to some grub scew not tread locked correctly, new truck looks awesome but ya can bet it will be nowt but trouble

It’s just too much money. $709.99 is absolutely ridiculous and they are not going to sell like HPI needs them too. I can’t believe Pricing came up with this #. Based on what? They have been out of the game for years. I’d rather have a Tmaxx or Revo and $200 + in my hand. Thank God I got HRP to sell me a brand new Savage X 4.6 that had been sitting in a warehouse for years for the grand sum of $470. That’s right $470. It was $499.99, but HRP has a $30 coupon on their website and they didn’t charge me tax or shipping…….Yea Man!! Oh and the new Flux is way over priced as well. I’d rather have a Arrma Talion EXB & $20 in my pocket. Thank you for at least sharing

I just ordered one off of RC Pros that was also 470, I was a bit skeptical if it was a scam or not.. reading your comment made it make sense with it being an older on the shelf model. Hopefully everything runs good!

I broke in my Traxxas 3.3 the Adam Drake way ....runs fine...check out his break-in procedure ....it takes a bit longer but you can tell a difference kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJOlxsaxnpTRZqQ.html
