Honda has done this generation civic nearly perfect. It’s been on the market since 2015 and newer cars still have to answer to it. The looks are out of the park. The civic has always been this wonderful, quirky car and this generation is that and is also unapologetically Japanese with its design. Whoever designed those taillights deserves a lot of praise. The most distinct taillights on the market along the Dodge Charger. The civic is the best selling compact in the United States and the best selling passenger car in Canada for a reason. I can’t wait to see the 11th. Honda better not mess that one up. It has a lot to live up to.

im here to say in 2021 june the messed it up badly the new hatch looks freaking disgusting af they lost their minds people said it was to much and they went and dumbed it down ALOT and they have the same motors and crap from the 10 gen so all they did was re design the exterior and interior under the hood is the same thankfully but its ugly af now def wont sell as good with the hatchs

Great review of the 10th gen Civic and I agree. I also believe Honda hit it out of the park with this generation. Glad to see Honda continuing to invest resources in the Civic nameplate and very glad they are continuing their performance trims including the Type R. I may be in the minority here but I prefer the more edgier look of the 10th generation Civic over this new one. The 11th gen Civic now looks like a boring commuter car. Say what you will about gen 10 but it did have character. I am a proud owner of a 2019 Honda Civic Type R. With Honda's reputation for making long lasting, quality cars I don't see too many gen 10 owners "trading up" to gen 11 but this could be a great opportunity to sell more cars to people who did not like the look of gen 10 which is most likely Honda's plan in the first place.

I had a 2016 sedan 6 speed LX, I wasn’t a big fan of the sport hatch until the 2020 came out. To me, the subtle changes really boosted the look for me. I traded my 2016 in on a 2020 6 speed sport hatch. My only complaints on it is I’m not a huge fan of Honda sensing, and I have an incredibly annoying rattle coming from my glove box I can’t figure out how to fix. Also with iOS 14 apple carplay barely works anymore.

Plenty of rear legroom and a big trunk, but I wished for a hatch but they had none in LX and my 20 year old Corolla was literally a road hazzard. Had to act fast as it couldn't be fixed anymore except for lots of $$. Need to get a shark-fin antennae (even without usability), and frog lights.

the oil dilution problems in the 1.5t engine is a problem tho. a lot of car reviewers wont talk about it on their reviews or don't know about it. people who bought the civic with the 1.5t engine will say that the oil dilution is the only flaw with the civic. I personally haven't seen it yet on my car but I know It will happen eventually. My civic currently has 74k miles. I commute alot. I bought it used. If you want a 2014 and newer used car that will last at least 500K miles, just buy a non-turbo civic, the 2.0L engine. or a toyota or mazda car.

I wanted the Civic Sport Hatchback when it came out, but it lacked a lot of features that were only in the Sport Touring Hatchback, until the 2019 Civic Sport Sedan/Coupe came out, and the 2020 Sport Hatchback got all those, with even nicer wheels, and a refreshing that makes it look even better. I was disappointed at first that the Sport Sedan did not have the new wheels, but the older wheels are still nice, and I realized the older wheels look better on the sedan body, as does the HDMI exhaust tip like the Si, as the dual round exhaust tips look better on the Sport Hatchback. But being older, and still an enthusiastic, but not an avid tuner, and limited time, energy, resources, and I realized what I have learn already from my past vehicles that turbos, and now, GDI causes more potential premature wear, maintenance, problems, and care, I shifted to the almost perfect and more affordable Sport Sedan, with the more reliable N/A 2.0L engine, specifically in Aegean Blue Metallic, like the one you tested and reviewed. A while back I shifted, and wanted the Corolla SE/XSE, with the availability of the 800 watt JBL stereo being a big bonus, but at much more expense, and temptation to add lots of the available aftermarket goodies. So I am seriously going back to considering the Civic Sport Sedan, especially with the more cargo room in the trunk. And there is an aftermarket Alpine DSP processor/amp/subwoofer upgrade available for the Civics and Accords without the top of the line stereos. Both Toyota and Honda dealerships are relatively close by, but the Honda one is more ideally convenient and accessible to walk and get to by bus should I have to take my car for servicing, etc. And there would be a lot less things I would add to the Civic Sport Sedan.

It can be hard to choose between all of these. I considered the civic sedan with the 2.0 and the Corolla but I’m 6’3 so I ended up going with a Camry. The Corolla was nice but it was just too small for me. The civic would probably have been fine. It is a little bit bigger.

  • @johnsonjacob3525

@@txtchjmb29 The Camry is a great car. Thec4 cylinder still has lots of power, but easier, and less expensive to service and maintain than the V6. If you can afford it with all the options you want, the Camry is great. But the Civic Sedan is as roomy inside and in the trunk, even though 10" shorter. The Corolla has less room inside, especially the back seat of the hatchback.

The refresh of the Si for 2020 was much improved over the previous years. I hope the don't mess with the Sport Sedan. I really do not like the looks of the new Civic designs I saw.

Drivers only I have 2019 civic sport sedan and I am very pleased w/ this car. I agree w/ your assessments on the good and the bad things. In my opinion it’s the perfect commuter car because it has a little bit of everything and it doesn’t sacrifice safety. The stability and handling on the road has to be among the tops in its class. When my lease is up, I’m looking to get into a hatchback w/the 1.5 engine. My question is should I shy away frm that engine because of the oil dilution issues ?

  • @DriversOnly

Drivers Only Oh Ok I thought it was the 1.5 engine because of the direct injection setup to each cylinder head at high compression that was diluting the oil w/ the gasoline residue . Thanks !
